Get well soon! I hope it's nothing serious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I left about 1/4 of my DVDs with my folks when I moved out. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Staying in a camp, Pipefitting at a plant expansion. lol. If this HR girl ever gets her poop in a group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Thanks Obax Update: Goal 4 is complete, I got a call for a job starting in 7 days, and so I am replacing that with a new goal: Get a Spartan Race Team together. I love doing Spartan Races, so it stands to reason that with a Team it would be even more epic.
  6. Working on rescheduling with the trainer. But in the middle-time I did a workout (barely would have qualified as a warm up) and it was TOUGH. Oh how the mighty have fallen! :'( But that's ok. I got there once and I can go there (and beyond!) again. Also. One challenge done. I go to work in a week from today. So I'll be posting a replacement goal when I return home from brunch/errands. 7. The obvious solution is to grow one that's majestic as fuck and change his mind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Any rebels from Alberta want to get together and do a Spartan Sprint on July 5 in Edmonton? This year I'm trying for the trifecta. I'd love to do the Death Race, but you apparently need a team for that, and the only way to qualify is to do the trifecta in a single season. So I figure the best way to do this would be as a team. Any takers?
  9. Heard from my trainer today. Apparently there was a scheduling conflict and he can't meet me tomorrow. BOOO!!!! But I'm still going to go rock a workout of some sort. Even if I only take a little peek around the facility. I WILL go to the gym, and I WILL put on my workout gear. After that I figure the rest will be easy.
  10. Thank you Today I applied for LOTS of jobs. And now I'm super frustrated. these damn oil-field companies have all these online profiles you have to fill out and make passwords and junk. Why can't I just send a resume to a real live persons email account? I can see absolutely no reason why I should spend upwards of 30 minutes per company filling out one of these damn useless profiles, when all the info is already presented in a nice orderly fashion in my resume? And the damn profile doesn't even ask for all the pertinent information, or even give me enough room to write down the info they ask for. Also, training tomorrow! I think tonight after I have supper with my grand parents I'll swing by the gym and do some running and pull ups. just to say that I've been there once. lol.

Looks like you have a super solid challenge worked out, I can't wait to see you kill this one too Have you tried doing push ups off the floor with your legs spread wider? Waldo posted about this in his last challenge, but if you spread your feet wider, it gets easier to do push ups off the floor, so maybe that will help you bridge the gap?
  12. I will be posting primarily in My Battle Log, so if you guys and gals want to follow my challenge, then click the link and follow away. If not, don't worry. I will post weekly updates here every Monday!
  13. Church 11: The Road To SPARTA! I have decided that this Challenge will mark the official beginning of my training for the next season of Spartan Races. This year I want to try for the trifecta, so I have to be in fantastic shape. Because I don't just want to settle like I did last time. So onto the Challenge: Goal 1: TRAIN. fairly straightforward. My trainer is going to push me as hard as I can go, so for this I just have to keep my appointments and give it my all. Goal 2: FUEL. In order to keep the body running in top form, diet is king. So I will be turning on the will-power and saying farewell to processed food, empty calories, alcohol (and other liquid calories) and will generally be eating as paleo as I can, within reason, because if it's too big of a pain in the arse then I'll just decide I'd rather eat at McDonald's Goal 3: MEDITATE. A practice I enjoy, but never seem to get to. Perhaps I will jumpstart this by attending yoga classes at the gym. Goal 4: WORK. This will most certainly NOT last the entire challenge, and once I get it squared away I will find a replacement goal. But basically, I am currently unemployed and must get back to work. I still have savings left, so I'm not panicking yet. But savings are for emergencies, not for my lazy arse to sit at home and chill for months on end. I did need the time off to find a place, move, get settled, and take care of some other stuff. But now it's time to get back to work and support all of my governments bad financial decisions. I will accomplish this by hitting job boards, emailing resumes out to likely employers and, most importantly, NOT sitting on my butt playing videogames all day and into the late, late night. Goal 4: Get a Spartan Race team together. For sure I will do the Trifecta this year, but I will also attempt to do the Death Race. Which apparently requires a team. And the only way to qualify for the Death Race is to do a Trifecta in a single season. Therefore, it seems best to do the trifecta as a team. I will try gather one to race with. Edited because I got a job and needed a new goal 4. -Church- Nov.12.2013
  14. I have some catching up to do! So in short, I liked the facility at World Health and I am now a member of that gym. I even have access to a trainer (for a relatively small nominal fee), and all kinds of classes which are included in the membership fee. So I have an appointment on Tuesday morning at 9am with my trainer. This will be EXACTLY the kick in the ass I need to get out of this funk. Also, I will be running my Challenges in here from now on, so that'll be coming soon. PREPARE!!!!!
  15. Well it has become apparent that I just don't take fitness as seriously if it's something I can do at my leisure at home. So I'm currently at a nearby World Health, waiting for a fitness consultant to take me around and show me the facility. If I like what I see I may take the plunge and pay for a membership, and possibly a trainer. That'll keep me motivated. I hope. I have (hopefully) 3 Spartan Races next year and I have to be the kick-ass-ist Spartan shape of my life. Here goes nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Let's see here. I've only done a handful of workouts in the last two weeks, and they were really more like warm ups (though the DID kick my ass), and my diet has been all over the place, both in terms of what I'm eating, and how much, but somehow I seem slimmer than a couple weeks ago. The job hunt continues, half heartedly, and the new place is starting to feel like home. Also, I've been crazy stuck on video games lately. Playing the Batman Arkham games like a madman. LOVING them! Awesome games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Guys I had an epiphany. Well, two epiphanies, but whatever. First, the reason I'm so apathetic towards health and fitness is that when I was training and doing really well, that's ALL I was doing. I wasn't reading any books, I wasn't watching my favorite tv shows, I wasn't trying to tinker around and build a genuine doomsday weapon. I was just waking up, working out, eating Paleo all day, also working all day, and then showering and going to bed. And now I'm stuck on a rebound, of reading all the books that I have back logged, playing video games again, catching up on my favorite shows, etc. I have to find some balance in my life. Second, I'm SICK of working out. It's fine for in camp, when there is noting else to do, but I don't want to be cranking out reps, and achieving new PR's, and so and so forth. I'd rather get together with a bunch of friends and be physically active. Challenge myself outside of the gym/track. Looks like I better get to steppin' and see what I can make happen. 18. Today is the last official day of vacation. Tomorrow I'll begin looking for work again and hopefully be back in camp by next Monday. Other than that I'm just trying to organize my new place and read some of my books. Working out end eating right has taken a back seat, unfortunately but I'm gonna enjoy life for a bit. However, I swear that I will never again eat 2 bodes of cookies in 2 days. I feel icky. And Oreos and Dads aren't very good when consumed in those quantities Oh well. Lesson learned Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You've been busting your butt for this for a while now, I bet you did just fine Congratz on the PR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. You're gonna do awesome girl! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'd like try for the trifecta and the Death Race, but I understand you need a team for that. And thus far I have no real-life acquaintances who are interested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. No kidding. I just moved to the city from Alberta Beach. I spend mure time in Spruce Grove than almost anywhere else. Or, I did. I need to find new haunts now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. After a fashion yeah. Lol. I got hurt a while back and then got SUPER busy with work stuff. But now I'm finally healed enough that I don't have to worry about further injury, though some discomfort persists. So I'll be slowly gearing up as things calm down and fall into routine. I'm hopeful that by weeks end my folks will no longer need my help with moving and such as they're almost transitioned to the new house. And within the next few weeks I'll be back working in camp, where I'll have loads of extra time to get training for upcoming races. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Edmonton here. (I posted earlier as well). I'd be down for a meet up. Maybe get a team together for a Spartan race or 4 next spring/summer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
