  1. I have the horse and the bow - working up to using both together...
  2. I've seen a few of these being thrown around on the boards - like MOD, WOD - but have no idea what they mean. Help? And any other acronyms I should know?
  3. That's awesome guys. I'll give the mobility exercises a whirl and see if there's any improvement. I'll get to a physio eventually, but trying the free option first!
  4. I will be following this thread! (and pondering...)
  5. This looks fancied than it is... Take a chicken breast, and slit the side so you've made a pocket in it. Stuff pocket with a combination of brie or camembert cheese, and fresh rosemary. Wrap in foil (you could even rub the breast with crushed rosemary for extra flavour) cook until meat is white through. You could quickly panfry the breast to seal the flesh before ovenbaking - this would make the skin a nice golden brown colour.
  6. I'm 32, but my knees feel 20 years older. They crunch when they bend ( not painfully, but disconcertingly) and they're pretty stiff. Is there any way I can lube them up and get the knees of a 20yo again? (without dismembering a 20yo...)
  7. Walkies! 5.07km in 51min28, av.sp.5.91kph
  8. I thin some of the guys are hoping a date would proceed as follows... Guy: um, hi, nice to meet you. You: *club man over the head* Guy: gurgle? You: *drag man back to cave/bedroom* Guy: what are you going to do to me? You: DEATH BY SNOO SNOO!!! Gut" I never thought I'd die lie this. But I always hoped I would...
  9. Oh, but bummer in the shops yesterday. I've been feeling pretty good about losing some weight, getting some fitne etc. Went into a changeroom and the mirror was all "weight loss? Yeah, whatever you reckon." Shut up mirror!
  10. The hardest element of this challenge is the housework! Really not my strength... BUT today I put on a load of dishes, and Shined (shone?) My Sink. Exercise is going well, sleep before midnight... mixed success.
  11. If you're an epeeist, also practise quickly dropping into a full squat and springing back up. Nothing like an epee to the toe to surprise your opponent!
  12. The other good antichafe measure is spraying your thighs - the bits that touch - with antiperspirant deodorant. Maybe cooler in summer than shorts. Has been a godsend for me dressing girly occasionally!
  13. Practise footwork! Back, forward, lunge, fleche etc on both legs. Fast and slow, with explosive bursts and extended static positions. Shuttle runs for speed. I think there are some agility exercises in the adventurers' minichallenge thread too.
  14. Another active day. Went for a cycle with my OH - 10.05km in 46min47sec. We took a break near a playground and tried some chin/pullups - yeah, I can't do them! Even the jump-up/lower down slowly was a bit out of reach. So I practised hanging, with shoulders engaged, for a while... Then walked dogs. 3.91km, 38min23, av.sp.6.11kph So a good exercise day!
  15. Your workout is really inspiring! I might need to add some side/reverse planks to my circuit...
  16. BBW today - slightly amped up by first mini-challenge of the 6 weeks. 3 x 20 squats 3 x 20 lunges 3 x 30s planks 10 halfway pushups 2 x 15 kneeling pushups 3 x 40 jumping jacks 3 x 15 tricep dips
  17. Excellent goals! I avoid running for the same well endowed reasons... but should try to incorporate a bit of jogging into my walks. So long as I'm wearing my good bra!
  18. Didn't do measurements, but challenge good so far (all of 2 days in) - rode yesterday and walked today. Need to add a condition to my goals - stretch! I'm a bit complacent about this because I'm very stretchy and don't always need to bother, but my leg muscles are really feeling the walking. Also need to contemplate new sneakers - got some recently, but they're rubbing a callous on both heels - they might need to be casual sneakers, and maybe some others can be walking shoes? Can't really afford them at the moment, but we'll see...
  19. Alrighty, I'm going to try to add 10 minutes to each walk (so 40-50min rather than 30-40), plus boost BBW with 40 jumping jacks instead of 30, and 30sec plank instead of 20s.
  20. Started 6 week challenge yesterday! Yesterday - rode my horse - he went really well! Today - walkies - 4.94km in 48min45, av.sp. 6.08kph. Shame I was too grumpy to enjoy it!
  21. My to-do for tomorrow... Record weight and measurements. Declutter living room.
  22. Ok, I've been NFing for a few weeks now, but this is my first challenge... DUN DUN DUN!!! Pretty much going to grab the goals I've already stated in my workout log... Walk or cycle at least 3 times a week. Ride my horse at least twice a week - cantering by the end of the 6 weeks. Beginners Bodyweight circuit at least twice a week, moving to 3 full sets. Life Go to bed by midnight, 5 days a week. Do at least 2 housework jobs a day.
  23. Walkies! Bit slow, but good distance. 4.22km, 43min42, av.sp. 5.79kph.
