  1. I just had my three days of fail. I didn't walk or workout because I needed to rest. I ate sweets too. I didn't work on my art at all. Thus, these are my three days of fail. Usually, this is where I give up. All is lost! I've broken my streak! I fail! But not this time. I had 11 successful days and 3 days of failure. I think that's pretty amazing for just getting back into this "healthy lifestyle" things. So am I going to give up? HELLS NO! I'm going to work harder and try to beat my 11 days of win. Perfection is impossible, but trying my hardest is good enough. I will keep trying!
  2. I love your quests! They seem to be going well for you, good job! Keep it up!
  3. This week has been a big success exercise-wise. I worked out 6 days of the week and I avoided sweets. I could only walk to school 3 days again this week because on the 4th day my shins were getting cranky, but they are already doing better after one day of rest. Hopefully I can walk to school 4 times next week! I give my overall grade a B so far. While I have been avoiding sweets, I've been lazy with cooking and I've been eating out a lot and eating a ton of frozen pizza. So, next week I'm going to work on cooking more and eating more veggies. I guess it's own mini-challenge. My old workout buddy contacted me this week and asked me if I wanted to start a running program with her. I'm considering it, I'd have to adjust my walking schedule to accommodate running twice a week. I used to run a couple years ago, but then got out of it. It could be a good opportunity for me to get even more exercise in! Maybe...
  4. This week has been great! I got to work on all of my goals today and achieved awesomeness. I'm feeling really good! Exercising so much help relieves all the stress I've been having this semester. I'm loving this challenge!
  5. You can do it! YOU ARE STRONG AND AWESOME!
  6. Things are still going good! I only walked to school 3x last week because on the 4th day I could feel the onset of some shin-splints, but I did do a little walking. I also only exercised one day last weekend. I don't want to add on too much too soon because I don't want to get hurt. But this week I'm back to walking 4x/wk and exercise 6x/wk. Yesterday I did a kickboxing class, tonight I did a circuit training class. Since I slacked last weekend, I'm going to put myself at a grade of C for those two goals. It has been 8 days since I had desserts/sweets/CHOCOLATE. I miss them so much. My willpower has been growing stronger though, it's less painful to say no each day. I feel a slight victory for each time I say no to sweets. Grade A. I have a new motivation for leveling up my life and my body: I have three interviews for ESL teaching positions in Japan. THATS RIGHT! I'M GONNA GET A JOB IN JAPAN! My first interview is next month, my other ones are in March. I want to look my best for the employers so they hire me, and I also want to look my best before I go abroad. I have until graduation, and that's plenty of time. THIS CHALLENGE JUST GOT PUMPED UP! Art goal... I got about 10 sketches done today. So I'm on the right track!
  7. Sounds like you're off to a great start! The tricky part will be keeping it up after vacation, but you already have such good momentum going! Keep it up!
  8. Three days down on the challenge~! I can't believe I haven't had sweets for three days, I WANT CAKE SOOOO BAD!!!! But it'll get easier as time goes on. Light Vanilla Soymilk has been my savior. It's slightly sweet to ease my cravings, and it's healthy. Strawberries have also been a lifesaver for the sugar cravings. My fitness goals have been going on without a problem. Today I did my first strength training workout. I'm already sore! Tomorrow is going to be killer. But tomorrow is also zumba! Woooo! All three goals: done wonderfully for three days, A!
  9. Good luck! This is my first challenge too. Starting off running 30 mins right off the bat will lead to injury though. Try a program like Couch to 5K (C25K). You can do it!
  10. This looks very thorough! Seems you're off to a good start. This is my first challenge also. Lucky (20)13! Good luck!
  11. Good luck! I have the same "eliminate sweets/junk" goal. How many days/week is the basic bodyweight workout? You can do it!
  12. Today was day 1 of my challenge! I walked the 2 miles to school to do a turbokick class. Turbokick is like kickboxing but with some choreography. It was fun! I arrived a little early to the class so I did 10 minutes on a workout bike before class. I was tempted to go for ice cream tonight, but I remembered how awesome I was this morning with exercise, so I said no to sweets! THREE GOALS ACHIEVED ON DAY ONE! A++++
  13. I do a variety of cardio/strength classes so I don't get bored. I enjoy zumba and kickboxing and step classes. I'll post them as I do them ^.^
  14. Hello all! I joined this site a year or so ago but have never participated in anything, but now I'm back and ready to party! For my race, I think I'm a hobbit, 5 foot 2 and recently gained 10 lbs >< I'm here to get back to my previous awesomeness and become even more awesome! Here's my goals: Fitness: 1) do a workout class at the gym 6x/wk 2) walk to school every school-day: that's 4x/wk Diet: 3) cut sweets: iIve been eating healthier but those darn sweets are my downfall! I used to eat sweets rarely and I want to go back to that. Level up my Life: 4) have a sketchbook full of new sketches for my art projects: roughly 50 pages
  15. Last week I started eating Paleo (including dairy). It worked awesomely and I lost 3 pounds despite the fact that somehow the stars aligned and I ended up eating ice cream every day last week (in small amounts, mind you, like half a cup). I shrugged it off and didn't think much of it, I go in and out of dessert spurts; I'm not someone who HAS to have sweets EVERY DAY. At least I thought. Last weekend and so far this week I've been trying to avoid ice cream. It worked! Instead, Sunday I ate chocolate covered strawberries and the past two days I ate chocolate chip cookies(yes I know cookies aren't paleo!). I also couldn't resist a Kit Kat bar at the movies with my friend yesterday. This is very odd for me. Usually I'm not much of a sugar eater, it only ever occurs to me when a friend or housemate gets something sweet. I have a sweet tooth for chocolate and ice cream that I didn't know about. But it seems to only be surfacing after my carb cravings have dissipated. Everything else is going great diet wise though! I love Paleo, it makes going out to eat and grocery shopping SO MUCH EASIER! I'm never stressing about food anymore. But I need to get this sweet tooth under control or else it'll destroy my new Paleo life. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has this sugar-cravings happened to anyone else who switched to paleo? Thanks!
