  1. @Anim07734 I'm pretty sure I eat quite a lot ( despite having periods of a few days where I do eat very little but for the most part my food intake is at least decent ) but where you may be right is in regards to the calorie intake/quality of the food I eat as it relates to weight gaining. Now that I think about it, pretty sure I don't eat the right kind of food that could help with weight gaining ( the whole meat thing for instance ... I guess it's kinda hard to gain weight from a vegetable heavy diet ). I think I have a lot to get me started unless anyone else has any other suggestions. In terms of dietary restrictions, there are none. There are things I just don't like ( eg: olive oils / olives ) but I have no issue with milk/eggs/dairy. I will probably stick to butter and standard sunflower oil. I'm not really big on the whole eating healthy. I eat what I want / like and so far, aside from the weight issue, it has served me just fine ( as in I have no issues with nausea / my body seems to function fine in that regard and so on ). I guess aside from the meat thing ... where, as I said above, I do feel ... 'heavy' whenever I eat meat.
  2. @Anim07734 Haven't tried tracking my calorie intake so yeah, maybe I should start doing that. My several 'serious' attempts at gaining weight have been ... less than 'scientific'. I just ate as much as I could, stuff that seemed like it might help me gain weight ( fatty stuff / rice / eggs / meats ). Guess I might as well start taking a slightly more scientific route and focus more on what I eat and keep track of my calorie intake. I don't think I would be able to put on weight fast even if I tried so I think I'm safe on that front. I already cook all my meals, always have ( actually ... I almost never eat take out or anything like that ) so I'm good on that front. Olive oil is a big no-no for me ... so no to that. Everything else though ... I'm good. Not really a big meat eater ... but I will have to make an effort. And yes ... I think I should first either ignore exercise altogether or just keep it very light. Especially since my goal isn't to bulk up or anything like that. Besides ... everything I've read in regards to my dilemma points towards exercise in small amounts with heavy weights.
  3. Ok, so ... a little bit about myself. Male, 30 years old ... about 1.75cm height and unfortunately circling the 50kg weight ( ~110pounds ). For ... the past 12-15 years or so. Regardless of what i've been going through, my weight has always remained the same ( ~50kg, give or take a few kg's ). Whether I eat 5-6 times a day or just once a day ... it never fluctuates outside that 2-3kg variation. And it's been somewhat of an issue for as long as I can remember. I've always been skinny ... but you know ... being a 25-30 year old dude and having the body of a 14 year old high school girl ... can sometimes be a bit of a problem. When I was younger it was ok ... but as I grow older it's becoming more and more of a nuisance. Throughout the years I've had some attempts at putting on weight but all have failed. Granted, I was a heavy smoker so I figured that played into my skinny figure. Recently I've finally managed to quit smoking and so far it stuck. So I've decided to have one final go at putting on weight. Now I figured I'd see about maybe giving muscle gaining a shot. I don't really care about looking good ... I just want to look normal. So far, all my attempts have been about putting on weight, fat or otherwise. So I've just stuck to eating massive amounts of food ( eg: one of my attempts involved eating 5-6 big meals a day for about 3 months at one point ... and gained 1kg ... it was absurd ). Now I realize that mine is a tall order. Putting on muscle at my age may be somewhat difficult, definitely considerably more difficult than it would have been 5 or 10 years ago ... then there's also the fact that I'm a blank slate at this. Never really had any interest in fitness or anything like that. And for the past 10 years my physical activity has been close to zero. ( work at my computer, don't jog, don't do sports ) But I figured it's worth a try. Worth noting that I do not have easy access to a gym so I'm looking for whatever I can do at home. Also of note is that I have the time and availability. I work from home and I make my own hours so I have no real time constraints. If it makes any difference I'm pretty sure my body type is ectomorph. Looking for any kind of advice regarding exercises / diet.
