  1. So the first week was awesome. The second week..... kinda blew. I managed to keep up with yoga but everything else was complete failure. Too much exhaustion. I literally slept the entire day on one of my days off. BUT!!! Back on track. Managed last nights meditation without falling asleep in the middle of it. Was up at 5am for yoga and my workout. Feeling pretty energized this morning.
  2. The cold seems to be pretty much gone now. My work schedule is pretty much back to normal after today. Today was nuts though. Pretty much did morning and mid shift at the same time (after working closing last night) while having a mandatory 2 hour meeting. I was Lady Flash today. No idea who thought it was a good idea to give everyone the day off when I had to be in our annual meeting for a quarter of my day and the person working the night shift is the intern and there was a party in one of the restaurants... but I am a rock star so it worked out. Today was the last day of it being wonky. I have managed to keep up with my yoga (though shortening it down to 10-15 min on some days to fit into the craziness without stressing me out). I am treating myself to a bubble bath and one of Hubby’s awesome raspberry vodka and lemoncello cocktails to relax and reset my tired body and brain. I am going to try to focus on meditation tonight since that has basically flown out the window the past few days. Tomorrow morning I have planned at least 30 min of yoga and my circuit. Gotta get backing into the swing of things. I hate how much a change in schedule throws of my routine so much. ETA: omg my brain is mush I just noticed my bad grammar and the overuse of “pretty much”. Ugh....
  3. Oh sweet Jesus that job sounds awful. So sorry you are having to deal with so much crap right now. Take care of yourself,
  4. Feeling better today. Have kept on my yoga schedule and got in my 3rd workout of the week today. Waking up at 5 am has been an issue. Having a cold + work decided to mess up my schedule with no warning this week so I am flip-flopping between my usual am shift and the pm shift. Hard to keep to 5am wake ups when I won’t be getting home until 11pm at the earliest. Not helping the cold either...
  5. Day 3 Wednesday: Mostly good. Woke up at 5am no problem. Did yoga and my curcuit (2/3 for the week). However, I missed evening meditation because I fell asleep on the couch last night and Hubby had to tuck me into bed. Woke up this morning with a sore throat and runny nose so that is likely the culprit. Day 4 Thurdsay woke up at 7:30am today naturally. (It’s my day off so this is my one planned day to allow sleeping in.) Did a restorative yoga practice since I am not feeling well and can’t breathe. Guess I will be drinking lots of tea and taking lots of vitamins today....
  6. I’m thinking this has to be a side effect of seasonal affective disorder. Sleep issues seems to be on a looot of people’s quest lists. (Mine too.)
  7. It is the worst. I am used to waking up before my alarm and just being awake. Having to pry my eyes open is so strange. I don’t know how other people function this way. Lol
  8. Day 2. So far going great. I did last night’s meditation sitting in front of the fireplace. That felt extra nice. Hit all my goals today. No snooze button, yoga (no curcuit today), and I am about to head to bed with my guided meditation all cued up.
  9. This is the circuit I am using right now. Two rounds of each move. As many reps as I can manage for 30 seconds. When this gets too easy I’m not yet sure if I will add another round or increase the time. Jumping jacks Squats Push ups Lunges Plank Tricep dip Leg lifts
  10. I have to admit. I don’t usually eat breakfast much. I don’t get hungry early in the morning so... why eat if I’m not hungry. When I do eat breakfast it is usually something small like a smoothies/protein shake, some fruit, or yogurt. Maybe oatmeal if it is my day off.
  11. 1) Meat is delicious. 2) Humans are designed to be omnivores. We are literally meant to eat whatever we can get our hands on. If my body is equipped to eat meat and eggs as well as veggies, it seems unnatural to avoid any of those. 3) I am anemic and my body struggles to absorb iron. I would probably be as pale as a vampire if I didn’t eat red meat semi-regularly. I just feel better and stronger when I do.
  12. Buy some headphones, put on your grumpiest resting B* face, and ignore everyone? Lol. It is scary the first time but it totally gets easier once you are in the zone. You may feel on display, but most people aren’t looking and don’t care what you are up to.
  13. Day 1 check in. Today was better. Up and out of bed at 5! Not super happy about it but it was easier today then it has been the past few weeks. Put on some fleece leggings and my Minnie Mouse sweater, grabbed some oolong, and headed to the yoga cave. ✔️30 min of yoga ✔️Body weight circuit ✔️Big o’ chocolate banana peanut butter protein smoothie for breakfast
  14. I find a good alternative to battle those soda/juice cravings is flavored seltzer water. It’s got the refreshing carbonation feeling, but no sugar/calories.
  15. It is very frustrating as someone who is typically a morning person who wakes up before her alarm all bright eyed and whatnot. I pretty much slept in two hours today. Not good.
  16. Don't fear the free weights. They make you feel like an Amazonian badass! I can can relate to the eating out thing.... if Hubby had his way we would eat out every night. Not sure how to get it through his head that he is 1) not a bachelor anymore and hasn’t been for a while now and 2) married to a chef... lol
  17. I was once a fierce warrior princess. However, this past year was rough. The Evil Witch at work tried to kill me. I have had a series of injuries and un-wellness, from colds to cracked ribs and fractured ankles. Prince Charming and I moved all the way across the land to a new and far away kingdom (thankfully far away from the Evil Witch). Recovering my old energy, strength, and discipline levels has been a challenge though. Especially since we currently lack the same fitness resources we once had. But that is no excuse to be a lazy sleeping beauty so... I've got to start somewhere. Master Quest) The Search for the Amulet of Rejuvenation (AKA Start to feel like myself again.) Quest 1) Yoga every day. - Wake up at 5am. - Hit the mat first thing in the morning. - Keep mat clean. Wipe it down at night so it is dry and oil free in the morning. Quest 2) Actually wake up at 5am. (This has been a big challenge lately. The weather change + Prince Charming keeping the castle freezing does not help.) - No snooze button! - Keep warm clothes and sweater next to bed to put on immediately. - Make morning tea right away to help get warm and perk me up. Quest 3) Meditate every night. - 5 min sitting in bed. - Lightly stretch before getting into bed. - No Ipad or books in bed. Quest 4) Improve strength. (Baby steps.) - Do body weight circuit 3x a week. - Immediately following yoga. - Eat enough protein, take vitamins, and BCAAs to maintain efficient recovery.
