This is so cool! I still feel like a rockstar when I look at my tattoo...and can't wait to get another one! I hope this one is always a great reminder of your goals.

Hi Red! Yay for California! I agree on the library stories...somehow we end up with some pretty crazy ones. Thanks for the pushups advice! I'd really like to be able to do them all at once, so I'll look into the 100 pushups plan. Sounds like something I can do. -
New here--be gentle :-)

I'm new too! Welcome! I'm also starting to phase out the grains, and while I'm having a little trouble coming up with new things to eat, I'm feeling a lot better. Hope it works for you too! -
Personal - need help though!

Just wanted to drop in and say that you're not alone! I've noticed that cutting down on sugar really helped me, and that the more I ran, the fewer problems I seemed to have. But I will still have some emergency bathroom stops. Don't get discouraged! -
List your running shoes!

I use Vibram KomodoSports (not the LS...didn't work for my feet). I'd really like to get a pair of Merrell's for trails though, I think I'd get some better traction on the downhills. -
Hi everyone! I've been reading the site for awhile, but finally decided to take the plunge and join the forums. DailyMile interactions just weren't cutting it for me, and the community here seems great! I'm 6'0", approx. 165 lbs. I started running about a year and a half ago (minimalist running, currently using Vibram FiveFingers), and have done a 10K, a few half marathons, a 7 mile GutCheck Fitness trail race, and the LA Marathon. I really enjoy running, but have recently added in some weight training because I know that it's awesome for me, and it makes my running feel 100x better than when I'm not weight training. Current Training Running approx. 4 x per week (although I'm participating in the Runner's World Summer Streak, so I'm doing at least a mile every day until July 4!) Weight training 2 x per week (Using the Female Body Breakthrough program by Rachel Cosgrove...although I do it a little more Crossfit style) Goals Griffith Park Trail Half Marathon - under 2:30 (November 17) Run a marathon under 5 hours Run a 5K under 25 minutes Be able to do 50 pushups at a pop I'm excited to be in a place where I can cheer other people on and nerd out about fitness! I'm a librarian by trade, so research is my game...and I love researching fitness and health!
