  1. Welcome to the Rebellion! That is so great that you are involving your kids too. Don't worry too much about your absolute weight- as I like to say, unless you are getting picked up for your job (e.g. doubles figure-skater) then it's not that important. Focus instead on how you look and feel. Keep us posted!
  2. Yay! I'm so glad you liked it! I'm all about the slow adjustments of habits, I don't have the...something... to just blast in and change everything at once. Willpower? Focus? Right Nutritional Balance?! I'm not sure what the something is, but whatever it is I don't have it
  3. Well I haven't been back in a while... a lot has happened. Remember that one of my goals was to learn 4 poomsae? Well, the Master in my club has different ideas and I am doing my black belt pre-grading at the end of July. I've been training every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, with another session every other Friday and a poomsae class on Sunday (a black belt friend spending an hour on it with me, when she's available). The grading is beyond the last date of this challenge, so I suppose my new challenge can't be 'pass pre-grading'; but I'm going to upgrade my challenge from 4 poomsae to 8. I have dreamed about getting my black belt. If I hadn't decided to do this challenge, I wouldn't have started training so hard and I wouldn't have been considered for this grading- I'm not gonna lie, I'm having some feelings.
  4. How's the withdrawal going TKSSTARR?
  5. I know you're trying to be nice but... this is a simple case of fat-roll-over-jeans =) I started my challenge on Tuesday, so I have had three days of sticking to my diet plans and exercising, and today (Friday) is my food cheat day (will still fit in a workout later). I feel really good about myself, sticking to my plans. Some people would say "it's early days yet", but the early days are the hardest days. If you've been eating well and working out regularly for six months, another six months is simple! I think some of what has kept me going is the accountability/shame factor so thanks for being my eyes in the skies, Rebels! Cheat day foods: gluten-free toast with Nutella. Massive fruit bowl with rhubarb yogurt. Sausages and baked beans! Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day
  6. Urgh I felt much worse about myself once I took the photographs. I had no idea things looked as bad as they did from behind I'm really excited about not ever seeing that again.
  7. God knows I'm not an expert (and maybe if you have a lot of weight to lose, you can work fine on such a calorie deficit)- is that enough food to get you through one day? Nutritionally? A shake, carrots, another shake, and a dinner? You don't want your bod to start burning muscle for energy!
  8. This is one of my goals for this six-week challenge- congratulations!
  9. If you're gonna roll out, you wanna roll out like RODIMUS PRIME! Bonus 80s electric guitar win!
  10. I would take some emphasis off knowing which MA you want to do...discovering that you don't like an art is as much an increase in wisdom as discovering that you do like it. So if you try one and don't like it, that's not failure. That's learning from experience! Just make sure you go and try another one. Otherwise you're quitting from experience. Different =)

I like the belts idea, keepin' it ninja. And the more martial-arts relevant the challenge, the better!
  12. Ha ha nice edit. I wasn't brave enough to commit to the 80s electric guitar She-Ra love. Day 1: stuck to diet. Walked dog. Did 3 x 8 reps of 5kg bent over dumbbell row. I'm heading to bed now...but will take my 'before' pictures first. Insert dread here.
  13. Maybe if you are in the habit of doing the classes at a certain time then you could continue to set that time aside e.g. if you always go to TKD class on Monday 7-8, then do TKD on Monday at 7 until 8 o clock.
  14. Also, if you are drinking litres of the stuff, don't go cold turkey! Word on the street is you'll give yourself a terrible lack-of-caffeine headache. I like the idea of swapping in the green tea, crank yourself down off the stuff instead of jumping off the caffeine cliff.
