  1. Great job, better to stop than risk injury. Hoping your husband gets that job too.
  2. Great workout today, hit the heavy bag for 5 rounds, rowed for two rounds and stretched. Here's How I felt
  3. Welcome, plenty of information here and plenty of different groups. Look around and ask if you have any questions.
  4. Great workout today heavy bag 5 - 3 minute rounds with 1 minute rest in between. Rowing 539m 2:04 rest 2:56 539m 2:07 rest 2:53 Stretching
  5. Some people use my fitness pal to track calories, I've heard it's easy with that app. The plan above seems like a good one, give it a try and see how it goes.
  6. Was pressed for time so cut my workout time in about half, the gym was packed full last night. Dumbbell press (lbs) 8x30,35,40,50,60,65,65 Bicep curls with curling bar 10x70,80 8x90 Pec deck 10x85,115,130,145 Seated row 10x85,100,120,140,160
  7. Rough last couple days, did make it to the gym last night, man was it packed. Don't mind the new people, we were all new at one time. What was irritating was the two doofuses working out right in front of the dumbbell rack. Now when people want a dumbbell, they have to wait till these two are done or do like I do and just walk up and get what you need. I did have a good workout, was pressed for time since I had to run my kid up to school, but still fir most everything in. Hoping to go today also. Did meditate last night and had oatmeal for breakfast the past two mornings. So overall was a good day.
  8. Didn't work out yesterday nor today, have been busy with work and yesterday was taking care of a plumbing issue at home. Will work out tomorrow, I was getting stressed about missing two days in a row, but then remember what I tell people, this is a marathon, not a sprint. I will still get my 3-4 workouts in for the week and I did have oatmeal this morning, so that's a plus. Have a headache right now, so will get dinner going and relax tonight. Hope everyone is doing well.
  9. You got this, setbacks happen, its what you do after the setback, you are on the right path.
  10. You had a setback, happens to all of us, there is no excuse, it happened and it's time to move on. Glad the pity party is over, some people never move past that. The scale is only one thing, how are you feeling in general? How do you look? The scale is one measure, but don't get stuck on it. You know yourself, so find exercises you like, if you don't want dairy, can you take a supplement instead? I didn't do well in my first challenge, didn't eat what I should have eaten. But I have done the other things and next month is a chance to improve on those things. Do some research on the alternatives to help with the osteopenia and see what is out there. Good luck.
  11. First off, welcome to Nerd Fitness. I think there is a lot of free information on this site and it is easy to get overwhelmed with all this information. I do not belong to the academy or private coaching. The main reason is cost, I have bills I want to pay off first. I don't think you should go into debt to get healthy. Read what is on the site here and start small. I don't know if you want to workout at home or the gym or both. Try what sounds interesting to you, same with dieting. The most important thing with diet and exercise is finding what you will stick with. A diet and exercise plan that worked for someone else might not work for you. The key to everyone's success is that they are consistent in what they do and the way to do that is to find what works for you and what you can stick with. Good luck and feel free to ask any other questions.
  12. The elliptical is easy to use, just get on and pedal. I've used the recumbent bike, but my current gym doesn't have one, it could have been the way it was setup or it just doesn't work for you. I think you will like the elliptical. The one that looked complicated was the arc trainer, but it is easy to use once you try it.The elliptical gives you a great workout and is easy on the joints.
  13. I will go to the gym on my weekends off if I didn't get my workouts in or I just feel like getting a workout in. In the summer I like to be outside more. Finding a schedule that works is great and you just want it to be flexible so it can adjust as you need it to. I've found a strict schedule works against me and if I miss a workout, I used to get upset, know I go with the attitude life happens, but I can always find 3-4 days to workout.
  14. A little soreness is normal, sounds like you may have done a little too much judging by how much soreness you have. You can scale the workouts down instead of trying to do what is listed and then missing a day or being sore for a few days. I also understand about getting busy and not being able to do daily updates, this is your log, so you update as often as you can whether it's every other day, weekly, whatever works for you. Some weeks you may be able to post more than others. Congrats on the weight loss and the meal prep, meal prep can be time consuming, but worth it. Keep up the progress.
  15. I will workout on the weekend if I didn't get enough days in during the week. On my weekend off, I will go to the gym late morning or early afternoon. I think you just need to pick a time that will work for you and commit to it. Great job on executing your plan, as far as the fight goes, hopefully, you got the issue resolved, kind of nowhere to go when you are walking outside unless the other person walks or runs away. You got in exercise and hopefully solved the problem.
