  1. Wow I can't believe that week 1 is down already! I have stayed on track with workouts and savings, the other parts of the challenge have been hit and miss! I look forward to tracking some XP points in the quest I set up
  2. Thanks for the support yall! @Mr_Willes my poison of choice is red wine, and I've found by just not keeping it in the house (along with other things I find tasty like Jameson) it's less tempting. There is still other alcohol in the cabinet but things like vodka, rum, and beer just don't taste as good to me so I'm more likely to go for a sparkling water or hot tea instead in the evening! I'll probably treat myself to a bottle this weekend tho, and hopefully share it so I don't have extra just lying around next week! @karinajean I'm very new to budgeting so I'm seriously just using a google sheet with a couple formulas. It didn't seem fun or romantic when we were figuring everything out but it sure felt satisfying to have it done! We have been good about entering all our expenses so far. I'm back at work today but here's a recap of day 2 and 3 Day 2 -Workout: 15 minute jog-- having the 10-minute goal in place felt very achievable, since it was a nice day I kept going (I live in Colorado where it's actually nice. Sorry to everyone who's in the deep freeze - Nutrition: 1 beer with dinner, and we made homemade pierogi which is a starch and grease deathtrap (so not great) - Meditation - plum forgot - Cleaning- I didn't time it but I am sure pierogi cleanup took at least an hour. For day 3 i haven't done any workout yet but will post again tonight!
  3. Day 1 was easy because I didn't have a ton of distractions or other things to get done today since I'm off work - Workout: 10 minutes cardio/1 beginner bodyweight circuit/10 minute yoga stretches - I also sat down and made a budget for the month with my husband, which felt really good and I feel set up for success since we're both on the same page now - Last night didn't go overboard with drinking so I didn't wake up hung over; we did go out for brunch where I had an apple cider mimosa which I guess that does it for me today! - I managed about 25 minutes of cleaning so far, will spend some time before going to bed tidying everything up! - Did a 5 minute meditation using a new app I downloaded (can't remember the name)... it was nice and I think I need to start out with guided meditations to stay focused until I really get the hang of it. I am off again tomorrow and will keep posting here to track my progress. I might be reaching out for support if things get derailed later this week once I'm back at the office. Happy New Year!
  4. Hi Wobbegong, sure, go ahead and move me over! Thanks!
  5. Hi, just coming here to introduce myself and share my goals for the January challenge! Every year around this time I get the urge to really get my shit together and get my life back into balance. I have a stressful job, a messy house, and probably drink a little more than is good for me due to anxiety. In the last year I've put on some weight and have gone into a stupid amount of credit card and medical debt due to a few random life occurrences. I think NF is a great place to make living up to these goals fun, make a game out of it, and get some support along the way. I would love to sign up for one of the paid courses but it's not really feasible at the moment due to the aforementioned money stuff. Without further ado, here are my challenge goals! 1) Fitness: 10 minute cardio 6x per week Beginner bodyweight workout 3x per week 2) Nutrition: Reduce alcohol to 4 drinks per week 3) Organization: Spend 60 minutes per day on household tasks (broken into manageable small chunks) 4) Finances: Pay off $1000 in credit card/medical debt 5) Self-Care: Spend 15 minutes per day (this can include anything with grooming to meditation to putting on makeup/doing my hair) I am using my NF character to track my progress and will check in here hopefully often to check in!!
