  1. @Tanktimus the Encourager I've thought about this for a while now, and I would like to deem this challenge of mine as a failure. Can I have the admins of the forum delete this entire thread so I can start over with a new one? I'm afraid I may become tempted to continue this in the future.
  2. Keep up the good work! I'll follow now.
  3. I'm really hoping to get back into the habit of cheering you on in your fitness journey and checking up on your progress. Keep up the good work!
  4. I always seem to be way behind on new topics by Tanktimus (totally my fault). Following. I hope to get caught up on your progress.
  5. I've won three straight games of "21" on the basketball court at my local YMCA after winning only one game in the past decade. Today was my third straight win! Funny how life works because winning a game of "21" is not easy! Oh, and I won my first chess game since the late 90's...I've been playing chess off and on since the mid-90's. Excuse me while I go back to being terrible at chess. For tonight I just want to enjoy feeling like I accomplished something major.
  6. NFL scouts acting like Joe Burrow will be a future hall of famer. If I was a gambler, my money would be on Jalen Hurts or Jordan Love. If Burrow goes to the 1, 2, or #3 pick then all he'll have to look forward to is 1 to 2 wild card spots in the next 5 years. I'm anxious to see how this will play out.
  7. I would say yes, because of the advice you're seeking from your friends on the forum. If there was no love, then the questions and attempts to fix what is wrong would go away and the relationship would slowly rot until it died. This is a response similar to one I had with my church pastor when I had an issue, but not with a romantic relationship.
  8. I'm more or less in the same boat you are because of so much time spent away from the gym. It will be exciting keeping up with your progress.
  9. Sorry to hear about your wife's "corny" behavior...but really, I hope it doesn't become a recurring theme for ya'll. Since you're visiting southeast Asia, might I recommend visiting Japan too? I highly recommend it if you visit Asia in the future. Just not Osaka or Tokyo...unbelievably crowded cities.
  10. Pleasure to meet you, I hope you get what you're seeking out of this forum and make many friends.
  11. Is there a Nerd Fitness Discord channel? If not can someone create one? I don't want to create one myself because I have no interest in becoming a Discord channel moderator.
  12. I believe walking up and down stairs should be used as a supplement to one's weight training / cardio regimen, not an entire regimen in and of itself (if that's what you're getting at). It's very good for you in the long run though. I remember when I visited Japan about a month ago. The escalators in the airport/train stations were very crowded but not too many people took the stairs. I decided to take the stairs more than once while lugging my 10+ kg suitcase and 13 - 18 kg backpack on my back. I didn't have any trouble doing it despite the heavy things I had to carry. That's what climbing up and down stairs can do for you in the long term because I've been taking the stairs instead of elevators/escalators for many years.
  13. There was a fantasy football league on the forum last season, so I'm wondering how many users would be on board for a fantasy baseball league for the 2020 season. If there are enough users on board with the idea and you do want to join, then: 1. Post your most preferred site (ESPN.com, MLB.com, Yahoo.com, etc) for the league. 2. Head-to-Head or Points system? 3. Auto draft or manual draft? If manual draft, then it might have to be restricted to users from the North American time zones only, we'll see. Posting a time window for when you're available to attend the manual draft (if there is one) also works great as well.
  14. Wow, yes please be careful. Why does your bipolar medication make you restrict calories?
  15. Okay...more like a nightmare. Congratulations to Patrick Mahomes representing Texas Tech University. I'm an A&M Aggie but as long as it's not the Longhorns then I'm happy.
  16. Part of my dream last night was about the Super Bowl. I saw the score was 49ers - 37 Chiefs - 25. I wonder if it's a premonition, I'll find out tonight.
  17. Nice airport, it looks super crowded. I wanted to take pictures of all of the airports I visited recently but was afraid of taking pictures of crowds of people and making them angry that I was taking their picture without permission. That's a really good looking drink. It's really awesome you get to travel all over the country for your job.
  18. Google Maps truly is a life saver, but Translate...not so much. The English to Japanese translations are so bad sometimes that it's laughable. Arigatou gozaimasu! (Thank you very much!) Congratulations on your new degree and on returning to the forum. I'm glad that I can speak from experience on what Japan is really like instead of Googling information like I used to in this thread.
  19. Subscribing (even though I'm way late to the party). Seriously?? Up to 5 generations later?? Sometimes my own country can really disgust me. Just like the bombing in Hiroshima in 1945. The U.S. didn't have to use a radioactive bomb to kill thousands of people because of radiation poisining but they chose to anyway. That's an upsetting thought. Glad to hear nothing was stolen from your backpack. In some countries even the monkeys steal from tourists, it's nuts I tell you.
  20. Hi, Panda Dad, do you still live in Dallas? I had to stop there on a layover back home to San Antonio recently. I like the hospitality of your city.
  21. That sounds like a really cool, once in a lifetime experience. I bet you'll be semi-fluent in those languages before 2020 is over. To @Jupiter @ReturnOfTheDad @Tobbe @Tanktimus the Encourager I unsubscribed (I think) to all of your threads to focus more on my trip overseas, but I want to get back into ya'lls and show you my support again.
