  1. My standard name for Elder scrolls melee character. Orc for life!
  2. I drove a friend around town to run some errands. He invited me out for a burger in gratitude. I did not refuse and it was GOOD.
  3. How is the over-all weight trend so far? Still more or less going down?
  4. Dad: But I don't wanna leave the boulder paaaark! Kid: But it's bedtime soon! Dad: Gah! It's SO UNFAIR!
  5. I upgraded my freestanding squat stand to a half rack, for extra stability during my eventual pull up training. The squat stand alone is perfectly adequate for barbell trainng, but a 300 pound gorilla swinging from the top causes a lot of sway. truth be told I was kinda disappointed with the half rack. I was hoping I would be able to push the rack flush with the wall but that was not the case. Fortunately I had some scrap wood lying around from a previous project that filled the gap perfectly. I acquired an axle barbell for extra grip development, and because I have big hands and it just feels better. And finally I acquired some swing straps to act as a budget and space friendly yoke carry.
  6. I live on a farm as well. True veganism simply isn't possible unless you grow and supervise 100% of your food. We don't have livestock, we mostly grow grain and other assorted crops. Part of my job when I was younger was to go through the fields after harvest and remove whatever animal carcasses got mangled by the harvesters so coyotes din't start moving in. Birds, snakes, rodents, foxes, skunks etc. get killed by harvesting machines every single season. So really, doesn't matter what you eat, some creature is going to pay the price. There's no shortage of free range eggs and meat out there, might as well make the educated choice. Oh, and boxed cereal like cheerios? Guaranteed there are bug parts that got past the screening process and made its way into your delicious crunchy bits.
  7. Big fan of soups, stews and casseroles like shepherd's pie that can be made ahead. Make a mixture of cooked rice, veg, and ground meat ahead of time. Stuff peppers or squash and roast til done.
  8. 2nd day at 90% went much better. Good breakfast beforehand, felt like I could do a bit more than 3x3. But this block is supposed to ease me back in, so I will respect the reps. Not 10 minutes after I finished the late package from Rogue Fitness finally arrived! Alas I am too gassed from lifting to assemble at the moment, will upload pics later today.
  9. "Perhapse if you had bought more quality Hyperion munitions, you would not have to use the quality Hyperion New-U station so much. Just a thought!" - Borderlands 2 Tomorrow is a new day with a new you.
  10. Swam 550 m in about 25 minutes today. Getting better. Pool water tastes gross, especially when there were other people in the damn pool. Bah, sharing.
  11. I went into the workout very hungry due to poor scheduling. The weight wasn't that bad, especially for 3x3, but my stomach was growling louder than I was the whole time. Probably would have went slightly smoother with a snack beforehand.
  12. Started the 90% cycle this week. Went better than expected considering work before lifting and hunger during the session. Was going a little loopy towards the end. I find a change in mindset has been a tremendous help. 2016 me would have probably skipped 3 gym days by now because it wasn't convenient, the stars didn't line up, etc. 2018 me is getting shit done. Now excuse me, I need to devour a large pile of carbs before I do something hangerous.
  13. My eyes just crossed and my brain went fuzzy just reading that >.< Best of luck!
  14. Just finished up at the gym. All goals accomplished this week save getting to the shooting range. Just wasn't in the cards. Better luck next week.
  15. Go to Home Depot, Lowes, or DIY store of your choice, look for Mechanic's gloves. They're thin, but built tough and meant for gripping. They usually are not insulated, but the more insulation you have the less secure your grip will be.
  16. You gotta factor in your own weight when purchasing a bench. I went to Rogue Fitness for their flat bench because it's rated for 800+ pounds. I weigh 300 pounds at the moment and my bench is starting to get up there so it was realistically my only option.
  17. I am firmly in the sweatpants, hoodie and ratty shirt camp of gym apparel. I have noticed that many work wear stores are starting to stock extra long shirts and hoodies. In my area we have a store called "Mr. Big & Tall" that specializes in big and tall clothes. "Big & Tall" is also a search category for clothes, maybe you can find something in your area?
  18. The blender is your friend. If you can handle dairy, milk, ice cream, protein powder can make a decent bulking smoothie. As far as getting fat, you are going to gain -some- when you are trying to build muscle mass. It's unavoidable in all but the genetically select few (May they stub their toes at every corner.) That's why you see so many people doing a bulk/cut phase.
  19. I use thin regular gloves https://www.marks.com/en/aggressor-slip-on-gloves-36425.html#36425=CAMFLG Some call them dexterity gloves, or mechanic's gloves, whatever. They fit well, secure grip. I will disclaim, however, that I only wear them in the winter time, when the barbell is too painfully cold for me to hold (Garage gym problems.)
  20. I am trying to work through Stephen King's IT, but I am finding it more of a grind than I anticipated.
  21. Did you get to the range yet?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!! Hope the rest does the body some good.
  22. Workout performed as prescribed. Thus concludes this day. Hate the first day back at work after vacation, always a complete clusterf-(badword).
  23. I'm not sure what parker offers for nibs off-hand. I know a normal "fine" pen is around 0.8-0.9 mm. I like 1.1mm nibs because it gives just enough width to make my handwriting x10 better than it actually is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7-tdj-KsG0 This probably won't make it look like new, but should help. Just give your pen a battle-scarred persona and write with pride!
