Started my period, and I feel like crawling into a hole and dying...  But nooooooooo!  I must exercise tonight!  I must!  I muuuuuuuuuuuuuust!  I even made myself a handy dandy google doc spreadsheet thing to track my exercises!  See, ta da!

    Day 1 - 2/15/18
    # Exercise Reps 1 2 3
    1 Squats 20
    2 Push Ups 10
    3 Walking Lunges 20/side
    4 Dumbbell Rows 10/side
    5 Plank 30 sec
    6 Jumping Jacks 30
    7 Dips 20
    Circuit Times:
    Total Circuit Time:
    8 Balance Pose Type:   Time:
    Notes:

I knocked my reps waaaaaaay back from when I stopped because I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a jelly noodle after not consistently strength training pretty much since daylight savings time ended.  >_>  I might be able to tweak the numbers a bit if there's more muscle than I think I've got hiding beneath my "winter insulation". :P We shall see, but until I do my first session (tonight!), I will assume that I've turned into a jelly noodle.

I LOVE seeing people so organized! I'm really thinking about doing a spreadsheet for myself in the future. I love love love this idea! Good job on the strength training! Sounds like you're doing really well!! :D

  2. Is it super dorky I do counter push ups and squats while I wait on the microwave in the morning?? 'Cause it feels pretty dorky...

BTW, speaking as a fat girl, I'm REALLY looking forward to the day people aren't surprised that I exercise.  <_<

Back feels better today! Yay! Gonna' go for another 3 miles in a bit. The weather is getting warmer so I might go for a walk in the park again but I've gotten spoiled to having AC and a nearby bathroom. ;)

Have an awesome Friday everyone!!! :D

    How is your back today?

I'm fine. Everything is fine. I'm sure if I only stretch enough before my workout... ... ... -insert more wishful thinking here-      ;)

Remember that your challenge is there to support you, not the other way around. If it's not working for you, change it! It doesn't make you a failure. It just means your challenge wasn't as helpful as you'd hoped. If what you need is a screwdriver, no one will think less of you for saying a hammer just won't do the job, right? The purpose of the 4WCs is to find what does work for you and do that, and they're a tool in your kit just like every other tool you use to get through the day. So go ahead and use the right tool for the job!

Its particularly frustrating being just doing the dishes before bed seems like a ridiculously easy challenge. I think I might set an alarm and make my goal to do any amount of dishes. (Getting started is always the most difficult part I've found and I tend to always make a concerted effort once I've begun.)

Seconding what @Wobbegong said about weight fluctuations. The human body is a strange entity that follows no rules! I find it too stressful to weigh in every day for that very reason, but doing that in order to get a week's average isn't a bad idea!

Yeahhh I know! lol That's why I haven't bothered changing my weight in my signature yet. Just expressing my frustration and silliness. ;) My body isss... having lady issues right now so I'm noticeably more pudgy. I'm proud to say I've continued to exercise though and not go super crazy with chocolate despite having candy everywhere right now. :D

Oh and the Valentine's event at the school went great! I did enough hard work to qualify that as my daily workout. (Sweeping, cleaning tables, folding and moving tables, moving endless stacks of chairs, etc.) My back hates me right now though so I'm really looking forward to my 5k today to work out the kinks.

That said if you still see the possibility that you can reach that goal you should still go for it. As you wrote in the beginning: 'She believed she could so she did' :)

I may TRY to make that goal more achievable for me. Right now I'm a bit busy but I'll have to revisit it. I hate seeing my first post and then a few posts later I'm whining about how hard it is. ;)

I know this sounds dumb, but if it is something that bothers you this much,  giving up the goal isn't going to make it easier.

It's not dumb at all! Thanks for the suggestion I will, genuinely, take it under advisement. ;)

Also, don't be disappointed in the whole challenge. How are the other goals going?

Not toooo bad but it's difficult when I have busy days like today. Speaking of which I've got to leave in just a few minutes. Man, I am TIRED! My daughter woke up at midnight, got on the computer, and watched videos until 2. That's when she woke ME yo and I never got back to sleep. Oh, and to top things off, I'm having... hormonal unpleasantness today. lol

I'm slacking on calorie counting a little bit but I manage to eventually get them put down. I'm exercising everyday but I don't see how I'll have time today. We'll see if I can get some exercise in after groceries, dinner, dishes tonight.

    Happy Valentines BTW!!! :D

Stop going to bed with dishes in the sink (I HATE that I keep doing this!)

I'm, no joke, thinking about ditching this one. O.M.Freakin' G. I just can't manage to get the dishes done at the end of the day. I am so friggin' tired. My alarm is set to 5 but often I find myself waking at 4 or earlier and I can't get back to sleep. I'm busy like anyone else and don't have time for most things I'd like to do for fun, damn I miss gaming or maybe reading a book. Day two of the challenge and, yet again, I'm going to bed exhausted with dishes in the sink. (I did a few but not enough.)  I'd stay up and do more but I'm volunteering at Twyla's school tomorrow for Valentines. Sooooo disappointed in myself in this one challenge. <_<

    -sigh-

On a more positive note, despite some really nasty pain in the ol' Frankenankle, I did an adequate amount of time on the recumbent bike. :D

Also to lighten the mood.. another Golden Girls meme. Because.

If you stayed within your calorie goal but weigh more, the difference is mostly if not entirely water. As long as your energy stays at a good level, everything should be okay.

    update/confession

I was super naughty this weekend. On Friday my husband got me some mini cupcakes. How can you say no to mini cupcakes?! I know, I know someone will say "Just have one!" Lies! There is no eating just one mini cupcake. I ended up having 4 and a half. lol So that's fine! I actually was still in my calorie limit. Thennnn Saturday my friend brought me powdered donuts! I mean I shared them with the kids but damn it.. powdered freakin' donuts. I was weak.

So I WAS 219 on Friday morning and the scale now says 222.5. Somehow it says I've gained 3 and a half pounds and I I didn't eaten 3 and half pounds of food. What dark magic is this?! Science?? Science, you say?! No! No, it cannot be! Lies! LIES!!

    So yeah...

I'm going to continue to make an effort to AVOID the naughty naughty delicious mini cupcakes. I will say whats funny is they guys were like, "Good job losing weight! Here's some delicious sugary cupcakes and donuts!"

Echoing that you should post whatever the heck you want and if anybody has a problem with that, we'll punch them in the throat and then nicely ask them to reconsider their point of view, mmkay? Your thread, your rules, Shy.

Just take it one day at a time. If that day happens to include a panic attack, well then let's cross that bridge and get to the other side of it.

    Aww! Thanksss... geez... lol

We had a fun game night yesterday, I did my treadmill today, and we all had some pretty yummy chili if I say so myself. Good day.. good day... :D

    2. Sounds like quality lunch time with your daughter, nice B)

It's just something we do occasionally. I bring something special like homemade cookies or maybe mac n cheese and broccoli and then we play rummy or a puzzle game and talk about school. She's awesome. Also she insists I bring her "TwylaKitty", her cat plushie from Build A Bear. Otherwise TwylaKitty will get lonely. ;)

    3. what nerdy, nerdy games are those?

Depends on what everyone wants to do. i think someone wants to actually play my Firefly boardgame which would be AWESOME but it takes hours and we may not be able to convince anyone else. CAH or Munchkin are definitely also contenders. I'm also fond of EPIC SPELL WARS OF THE BATTLE WIZARDS: DUEL AT MT. SKULLZFYRE but I can never get people interested. Suffice to say.. we have an assortment to choose from. :D:D:D

Me too.. me too. Ya' know Golden Girls isn't on Netflix? How effed up is that? There's a FB group trying to convince them to get it on... I joined. Who doesn't love Golden Girls? ;)

I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way Shy, since I just wanted to lighten the mood. Luckily I only had 2 panic attacks in my whole life, but I know it's neither fun nor funny when it happens. But now that this stressful part is over my way to cope with it is humor. Just felt that I needed to clarify that I feel for you ...

No, no! You're fine! Don't worry about it! It sucks and it's just part of having anxiety disorder. Luckily it's pretty rare for me. I probably shouldn't even mention it but it's not something I'd post on facebook and wanted to be able to tell someone. Does that make sense? Anywho, it's totally cool.

So I was able to compose myself and later (yesterday) I was able to come have lunch with my daughter at her school. She didn't seem bothered at all about that morning. She was quite happy to get extra attention, not to mention extra goodies from home too. ;)

I don't know if I'll have time to walk today, I realized I'm nearly doing a full 5k everyday and it takes me an hour. I'm just looking forward to seeing our friends and playing some nerdy nerdy games and relaxing. :)

And here's a meme that makes me happy... :D

Oh no! I hope you feel better. Panic attacks are the worst. Do you know what caused it?

The several hours of housework definitely qualify! The panic attack may have got your heartrate up but it also probably coincided with some intense stress hormone load so maybe not so healthy. Deep breaths, Shy!

I don't have attacks often at all but it wasn't a good morning. I had forgotten something important and then, and I know this sounds weird but,  the heat kicked on and I was stressing more and more and got overheated and BOOM. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" and lots and lots of tears. Something happens when I get too hot and stressed. It's awful. It runs in my family. That's part of what exercise is for though.. helping with anxiety. Speaking of exercise I need to get back to work scrubbing toilets and mopping floors. I'll be fine I just feel really guilty for ruining the morning for everyone. :(

    Happy Friday Eve, Shy!

Good luck with your ankle, I hope it feels better soon!

It's still a bit wonky. Funny enough it's the left one bothering me today and the left isn't too bad. lol WTF? But I managed to get my 2+ miles on the treadmill! Finally! Yes! :D

Resting it is the smart thing to do. It could just be yelling at you from overuse, in which case trying to push through the pain just makes it worse.  Taking something for inflammation could help too. In the meantime, you can do a workout that doesn't involve flexing your foot.

I rested my ankle as much as I could yesterday and, after walking my daughter to school this morning, it didn't give me any trouble. Yes!! I miss my hour long walk on the treadmill. Right now I'm listening to Ready Player One but I'm thinking next I'll try The Hobbit or Hitchhiker's Guide or maybe The Princess Diarist. :D

    Ya'll have a happy Friday Eve!! :D

I am sorry your foot is misbehaving. I hope it feels better soon. Sometimes the best laid plans, get thrown out a window because the body says "nope, not today." Take it easy and hopefully the gym will help.

Well I made halfway to the gym, limping all the way, and I decided if it hurts this bad just walking there I should give it a rest. I did my 20 min stretch but mostly I tried to put my foot up most of the day. So annoying but it honestly feels slightly better after laying off of it for a bit. Probably just swelling around the plates and screws. Hopefully it's not micro-fractures or anything like that.

Hoping tomorrow I'll get a chance to get more of a workout than limping around. ;)

As far as the kitchen thing, I will give you a small bit of unsolicited advice from one mom to another. Don't start with the whole kitchen. Once I get my challenge up (Hopefully today) you will see that I can't just say "I will keep the kitchen clean." I don't have that time. However a few challenges ago, I started with "keep the island clean". I had to clean it before I went to bed every night because it gave me a clean space to make lunches at in the morning. And it took 2 minutes. Then another challenge was Island and peninsula. Then it was my desk, and the island and the peninsula, then the table and its snowballing into more and more "places". Since I started doing it, its not taking as much energy to start with so I can build up to it.

I will keep that in mind! I would honestly be happy with myself to avoid waking up to dishes for a solid week. Any positive strides will do so I never expect perfection from myself but progress. ;)

Although I understand the tired part. I am up at 5 everyday as well with the kids and its hard. Especially when all you want to do is lay in bed for another 5 minutes. I am here to cheer you on.

Thanks fellow Mom!!! <3 And ditto!!! :D

    update

Looks like no walking today. I was limping all the way to school and back. For some reason my Frankenankle is really bothering me. I can't tell if its swollen but it hurts when I flex my foot up and down and its very very slightly warm. I think I might trying to bike at the gym today and see how it goes. I really wanted to walk too... :(

Oh and thanks for mentioning Darebee. I had to look it up but it looks awesome. I'll read more when I have time. Thank you!!
