  1. Last weeks update, totally putting this up late, I was hoping to jump on on Sunday. Diet Goal: That was a close week 19/21 = 90% was almost perfect. Rice twice a week isn't bad but its hard to stick to since rice is so easy to make to go with dinner. Fitness Goal: Perfect, I am right on track. Life Side Quest: Nothing new to report, I have been studying for an exam thats coming up. I feel like I failed on this goal. Fitness Side Quest: I pr'd on my turkish get ups. I got up to the 14kg bell which is awesome since I usually just use the 10kg bell for them. I have realized that I should push myself a bit more during my workouts. This week is going well, weigh in and measurements are coming up. Every four weeks I get it done so I can track everything on my handy spreadsheet. I am so nervous on if I am still losing inches which eating rice. I know my corset fit awesome this weekend. It is closed all the way, which is an improvement. I am wondering how much longer I am going to be able to wear it. Good problems to have. =P My biggest improvement I want to be is in my waist. The best thing ever would be able to tell my doctor that my waist has gone down a few inches. That was her biggest concern with the heart issues my family has and your stomach measurement is a good indicator of heart disease. Well, only five more days of this challenge. So far so good.
  2. moderation is a lie for me. I just can't seem to do it, before I know it I am eating horrible again. The only thing that I am eating off of whole 30 right now is rice and I think thats going to be it. Just with that alone I keep struggling but I have some rules that are helping a bit. MY next weigh in is in two weeks and I am going to be honest I am scared that because I did add rice back in I gained it back. Which is non-sense but its because of rice that I gained most of this in the first place.
  3. The answer is not just yes or no anymore. IT could be a maybe which makes things so much harder. My so says that I do great white black and white but gray gets me all muddled. With whole 30 I could eat it or not. There were no cheats, no just a taste, or once isn't a problem. There is no alright how much of this have I had this week, is this going to push me over. How much rice have I already had? At least that is how it is for me. Most things are not coming back in which does make it harder, but somethings like rice don't bother me, but I don't want to be eating it a ton either.
  4. I swear Whole 30 is easier then going 80-90% paleo. I came very close to going under 80% paleo last week. I did have to eat out quite a bit because of work, so I hope that keeping that in check helps. Also, everyone you are so close YOU CAN DO IT!
  5. You do have this! Your intro plan also look solid!
  6. Sorry I am a little behind on your thread but you should try to find a different doctor. http://paleophysiciansnetwork.com/ Just a thought. Also, Pawpaw?! Why have I never heard of this. Now I have a mission. I also totally understand how you feel about the whole 30. I have been staying true about 80% of the time since my goal is to transition to paleo. At home I still eat whole 30, but when I am out I eat rice and some potatoes.
  7. Check in time! I am still doing pretty good. Last week I ate too much rice 2 extra times and had 2 orders of fries during the week. Diet Goal: That was a close week 17/21 = 80.95% was good. Thats really close to the lower end of 80-90% I want to maintain. Fitness Goal: Perfect, I am right on track. Life Side Quest: Nothing new to report Fitness Side Quest: I Pr'd on my presses 18kg. I am hoping that this shows up in my pushup check. The hardest thing is the diet and eating out. I need to make sure that I don't 'run' out of food or get way to hungry. Work in finally going to calm down after tomorrow, so I am going to focus in on my diet and make sure that I don't go under 80%. I would rather be closer to 90% My legs are alot less flabby if you know what I mean. I am so excited. Also, I am going to be trying on some of my costume where and I can't wait to see how I look this weekend. I agree with both of you. This time the whole 30 proved to me that yes I do so much better eating this way.
  8. It was some type of yogurt that was in the meal instead of coconut milk. I decided to follow up as ya'll suggested. I still haven't had any fruit or anything with added sugar. My SO keeps saying I should just stay away from it all. I kinda want some chocolate though... I do have some primal protein shakes that are coconutmilk based that I might start using again. I wonder if they are going to be super sweet to me now. MAybe I will use them like a milk shake.... hmm... I am going to have to think about this. Congrats on the cream cheese Blaidd. I am so happy that dairy is okay for you. Jonesy, that is totally not a cheat. It isn't like you wanted butter on it, so I am voting it wasn't a cheat.
  9. Time to check in with our lovely hero and she what she is getting up to just over midway in her adventure. Well, it seems Tonic needs to work on dexterity since in combat with a leaf, the leaf won, and she went slidding down a hill knee first all the way. After a few days of being careful with her knee she seemed to recover to almost full health. Deciding that 30 days was a good amount of the hero diet Tonic decided to start introducing rice back into her diet with no problems. Yet, a scary monster called dairy attacked leaving our poor hero in horrible pain casuing her to pasue her movement towards hero mountain. Once, recovered from the dairy attack our hero is back on track heading towards the tall rock in the distance. Diet Goal: On Track, I had some dairy slip in when mine and my SO's dinners got switched. Dairy is not coming back into my diet that was horrible. Fitness Goal: I missed one workout since I was curled up on my bed in pain from the dairy. Life Side Quest: Nothing new to report Fitness Side Quest: I did 8 whole push ups nose to the ground. I probably could have pushed it to 9 but I did go to my workout class today. I haven't really changed my diet much from whole 30. I have had some rice which went fine. I was so scared I would react badly to it, but I was okay. The goal is to only eat rice when I go out since it will make eating out so much easier. Also, I don't want to be eating it everytime I go out so I need to pay attention it it. After the accident with dairy I am going to hold off on that for awhile. I don't know when I am going to try to introduce it back in or see if that was a fluke. At the moment, I don't want it bad enough to try. Bean aren't coming back in, they make me feel horrible. Wheat I am staying away from as well. Maybe in a month or so I will try. I am allowed to have treats but they have to be wheat free, and they have to actually be a treat.
  10. I am heading towards 80/20 but the 20 is bascially rice once or twice a week, with maybe some gulten free desserts if a treat is needed. Dairy and beans are out along with wheat so it doesn't leave much for the 20. The biggest challenge is going to be listening to my body when I do let myself have a treat and how I feel afterwards.
  11. Okay, I ordered Indian last night and it was suppose to be made with coconut milk and let me tell you it wasn't. I woke to horrible pant in my stomach and just laid on my bed for three hours waiting for it to go away, missing my morning workout. It did but woah, no freaking dairy. I am not willing at this point to even try a latte. That was rough. Tomorrow I am going to try with some more rice and see what happens. I keep reminding myself on step at a time. I was so happy to get home today and make some real food after being at a networking event. I tried a dip and it must have had something it it I couldn't have. I had one bite and my throat was like no. It started getting scratchy. Biggest lesson learned be very careful with what you eat.
  12. I started reintroduction today with rice, but my tummy wasn't happy... But I wasn't sure if it was the rice or something in the sauce. So friday is sushi day and I am going to stick to pretty plain rolls to see how the rice works. To be honest I think rice is the only thing I am going to reintroduce and keep in my diet. Wheat I am going to stay away from, if I want a desert I know an awesome gultin free bakery that uses almond, coconut and rice flour. Dairy I am going to do my best to stay away from, the only form I get it in is french vanilla latte. Sooo goood. But I am resisting and only allowed to get 'real' ones from real good cafes and then only like once a month.
  13. Whole 30 is complete. The results are in I lost a total of 6 inches and 8 lbs. I am kinda shocked since to be honest this wasn't the hardest whole 30 I have done. I feel more upbeat about staying on track with paleo and continuing to see results. Diet Goal: On Track, whole 30 Complete now paleo Fitness Goal: Have not missed a workout Life Side Quest: Curtains are up, started on closet, and can't seem to pick out lamps we like Fitness Side Quest: I need to check in with this and see how many I can do. I did two side quests so far +1 CHA +1 Wis. I am rocking and rolling but now the hard part begins. Finding a paleo diet that works for me without losing it.
  14. It is shocking to me that my whole30 is almost over. IT is also scary as heck. I know I am going to transition to paleo, and allow rice when I go out. I think I am going to have to write my own rules of eating, kinda like whole30's rules but my own so I stay on track. Usually I am okay the week after but then slowly slip into allowing things back that I don't want back into my diet but are cause of convience sake. The energy comes and goes. When I am strong I feel really good. MY mind always feels pretty clear, but when it is time for bed it is time for bed. Its hard to describe. Today went well. I got some star runs in with a push up ladder. Once, Wednesday hits the hard part of this challenge begins to happen. I knew with the whole30 it wouldn't be bad. Now we will see what happens.
  15. The food dreams about food that I never eat is the worst. Is it ever about ice cream or cookies? Nope, just stuff that I would never eat in a million years. I can't even cheat on what I want in my dreams. Thankfully, they have stopped for me or I am sleeping deep enough that I am not remembering them.
  16. I am a tax accountant so on days that I am working a ton and have run out of precooked food in my fridge I eat out. You have to learn that just because youare eating out it it doesn't have to be unhealthy. Especially if I am literally eating out because of the time factor. Now, if I am eating out for a special occasion that different then having to grab lunch because I need to grocery shop. This one lesson is serving me so well with how busy I have been at work. We can do this Blaidd! My last day is Wednesday then I am going to stick with paleo. The only thing I am really adding back for now is rice when I am eating out and I will be able to eat fruit here and there.
  17. You are so on track. Great job sticking with it. You hopefully will be getting some energy here.
  18. Great job keeping on track and resisting. Before you head to the game you can hit up chipotle. I think you are right about the salad stand they have there. I can't remember from my last trip there, I wasn't on whole30 and was totally having not healthy food. The international district is right there so if you want to head over there you might be able to grab some on track food.
  19. The whole30 meal at Chipotle has saved me many times when I have had to stay late at work or a shopping trip with friends has run over. Carnetas salad with salsa and guac. Sounds plain but is awesome as heck. I also order a cobb sald without blue cheese at any other place. I'll ignore the fact the bacon isn't strict and have oil and vin. Or if I am being stict ditch the bacon. Another favorite is a burger without the bun and cheese with a side salad instead of fries. Sorry if I am rambling pretty tired here, but I wanted to check in.
  20. Woah, I have no idea where two days went... Actually I do. I have been super busy at work. Like busy busy. On the brightside, guess who kept with the whole30 even though she was super busy. Also guess who made it to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday getting a ass kicking working. As in clothes soaked in sweat and pushing with new weights. Thats right me. I am just that cool. Actually at the moment I bone tired. The workout this morning kicked me hard but I can literally feel the difference in some of my mucles from the difference in diet and energy at the energy. The results I am seeing right now on the whole 30 are awesome. I am literally so happy. My mood swings are gone and I am focusing like no ones business. Anyway I am off to bed. I needs my sleep.
  21. Today: Breakfast: Eggs, sweet potato, bacon Lunch, Chicken legs, cabbage, roasted pepper Dinner: Stuffed pepper with sausage, tomato, onion and more pepper No workout today since its Monday. A+
  22. Jonesy, my first week and a half I just wasn't hungry so I didn't eat that much. I was under calories for that time frame but slowly my hunger came back. It just takes time for your body to adjust. Also, the timeline doesn't fit everyone. I didn't get hungover this time around but I would sometimes get really sleepy. Also snapping. There were some times I would get angry over the littlest thing it was so intense. It faded just like the not being hungry problem. So I wouldn't worry. You are doing awesome and are so prepared. Oh my I can't wait to make that cherry tomato vingarette. Are you getting any food dreams yet? I had one about a sticky bun which I never eat.
  23. @Jonesy I am so scared about afterwards, its one of the reasons I stopped counting. I know my SO is super excited for it to be over so I can have go off diet here and there. I just don't want that to become all the time. @WritingWeaver I so wish I could just eat eggs in the morning. IT would make my life so much easier.
  24. You know what helps on your whole30. The freaking farmers market. I went on sunday and omg Icould eat almost everything thing. Grass-fed meat, fresh veggies, people roasting peppers right in front of you. It was awesome. It totally upped my creativity with my cooking. Tonight stuffed peppers with sausage, tomatoes, onions and more peppers. So yes, if you are getting board go hit the farmers market. It helps.
  25. Congrats on the pants. That is the best feeling ever, sliding on pants that didn't fit before.
