  1. Can't help you there I stay away from almond milk. The only milk I like is in lattes and as mentioned I tried that once, it didn't work out. Dairy tends to just attack me so I try to stay away, some cheeses are okay but unless I really want it I don't bother. The mood swings can be a killer, remember deep breaths and try to take a moment to think before you speak. I got really snapping this go around at different points. It does get better. I have had great moments of strength aka tiger blood that have let me pump out awesome workouts. I am not longer craving sugar anymore. I do want sushi wicked bad, but that will be a treat afterwards. I am hoping only the good is left. I am finishing day 20 so it would be nice to just feeling awesome from here on out.
  2. Day 7 Still going strong on the Whole 30. I hit the farmers market today and cooked a ton of food for the week. I should be good. I am worried about once the whole 30 is over and then not sticking to paleo. My biggest problem is to limit non-paleo foods to the 15-20%. I had a rough time in the past doing paleo. I can make it through a whole 30 but keeping paleo on track is harder. Excersie-wise I walked all over the place today. It rained pretty hardcore on and off so I got drenched a few times at the market. It was all good though. I bought so many different veggies. I can't wait to go back next week. They had so many different peppers. I love peppers and tomatoes. It was heavy. I even got fresh roasted peppers, like they roasted them right in front of me. IT was awesome. I got some ground prk and I am going to stuff some giant peppers with pork, tomato, sweet peppers, and onions. I can't wait to make it, probably tomorrow since I am wicked excited for it. Plus, I should get home at a decent time tomorrow with enough time to actual cook something more time consuming. I forgot how much I love shopping at the farmers market. I used to go every weekend when I lived in NY. So yes, it was a good day. A+
  3. Good call I might have to pick some up. Chicken Sausage in the morning is pretty good. I tend to pair it with sweet potatoes so I get a veggie in.
  4. I have heard people but butter in coffee. Not sure I could drink it.
  5. The strong is awesome. I got some last week and my workouts were great. I am guessing that is what they mean by tiger blood. I tend to think dragon strong instead. Totally stealing that sauce for October. Also I feel you on the chinese. My SO got onions rings, a giant pile at dinner. I didn't have one but I thought about it.
  6. Day 6 One word Awesome. Actually I can't just say awesome and move on it can't discribe everything. I did my 3rd workout for the week. I got in 2 rounds of the beginning body weight workout. I did dips instead of rows. I could have done a third round but my SO was waking up and we had to get moving on the day. Breakfast was eggs, I am so sick of eggs... Even putting salsa on them or frying them with coconut aminos, it is getting to me. At least tomorrow is bacon day and I can eat eggs with bacon. We had a really late lunch/early dinner and I had a cobb salad no blue cheese. It is a staple at a restruant near our place and we hung out in the sunshine as we ate. It was awesome. Then we decided to 'wander' went meant hiking it up a giant hill followed by stairs going up, then deciding not to continue at the top down the stairs we went. Then some flat ground to down more stairs to get back to the base of giant hill. It was a good city hike, totally wish it had been on a trail somewhere and I wasn't in jeans and cowgirl boys but you gotta do what you gotta do. I worked up a sweat and just hope I can get my lace t-shirt clean tomorrow. Now, I am looking over the forums painting my nails. I might grab some carrots out of the fridge for a snack. So yes, an Awesome Day. I also realized how close to the end of my whole 30 I am. 11 days to go. That's nothing I can do it.
  7. Aww, thanks Joesy! Day 5 Went great. Ate great food, slowly getting sick of eggs. Dinner was awesome I ordered some whole 30 approved sauces and glazes and woah. My stuff squash turned out awesome. The meat kinda ended up like sloppy joes it was soooo good. I am going to have to see what else I can do with some of the stuff I ordered. But yeah, yesterday went well. High Five.
  8. terosz great job holding up. I know you can do this. Mood swings are a part of the whole 30 and they can kncok you off your feet. As for school if it is something you are not feeling comfortable with don't do it. I would speak to Alumni of the program to see what they thought of it and the job placement rate. Are they employed or still looking for work? What do employers think about the program? Also you mentioned that most of the student already work in the field, maybe that is the expectation you work at a halfway house for a year to get your recommendations, experiance and see if it is right for you.

On the coffee note I tried doing almond milk latte's big mistake. Just a warning. Maybe with coconut milk but do it iced... hmmm...

  11. Joined Holding Whole 30, and my SO has been awesome discussing what I am eating, why I am eating this way and how long I have to do it. He so has my back this time around. ITs kinda awesome that he finally gets I can't eat like him and not gain weight. +1 CHA
  12. I second Well Fed. I preordered Well Fed 2. I hope you guys don't mind if I join. *Waves* I am on my 3rd whole 30 this time once it is done switching to paleo with a goal of 90%. Mine ends on Oct 2nd, not sure what day I am on cause counting was making me a little crazy. Jonesy: Ditching Lattes was super hard. I switched to unsweeted ice tea so I still go on 'coffee' runs in the morning with coworkers.

  14. @bluekiwi1 I dreamt about sushi last night. That is the only thing I am really missing. I am going to have to have it be the other 5% when I am eating paleo. Day 4 was awesome. I ate great, avacado and compliant sausage for breakfast. Stir fry for lunch and cashew chicken for dinner. All wicked yummy food, thought I was starving by 3 in the afternoon. No clue what happened. IT was like I didn't even eat lunch. I had some nuts but the hungry wouldn't go away. Unfortunatly, I ran out of food and ended up going to my gym session hungry which is never a good time. I still got in an awesome workout: 5 rounds: 3-5 double bell get ups 8kg 15 swings 28kg 5 rounds: 5 double bell presses 12 kg 15 swings 28 kg 5 rounds: 10 goblet squats did 8 each round with 20kg 15 swings 28 kg 5 rounds: did 2 crawls 10 swings 28 kgs After that I was sweating horrible and really starving. The hunger left me right after I started working out but on the last set I turned into the I need food now monster. OH, and peeps could hear my stomach growling. It was just a quick bike ride home, then a shower then finally food. Food was so awesome at that point. I did have a close encounter with peanut sauce but my SO saved me from eating it. OVerall, I am doing really well. I am over the halfway mark with the whole 30. Last day is Oct 2nd. So yes only a few mores weeks then sushi. I might have to get sashimi before then.

  16. Day Three of Challenge, Day 15 of the whole 30. This is the midpoint and I am feeling pretty good. I am missing my protein shakes for breakfast on the go when I get sick of eggs. I also can't wait for sushi... I literally think that is all that I miss. Maybe... I will have to think about that. Still need to work on my bedroom and get that into shape. After dinner tonight I am going to put that shelf together. I swear.
  17. I love GW2. I have 3 different characters norn ranger, slyvari elementalist, human necro, so I would say there is a ton of replaying. I love the fact that new content is released every two weeks. Everyother one I tend to play alot. I don't know about the keyboard hacks. Best thing ever for dipping any veggie is sunshine sauce from well fed. http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com/2009/07/21/sunshine-sauce/ I use almond butter instead and omg. I can eat any veggie raw with it doesn't matter if I hate it. I have an 60-70% chance of getting my mayo to work right so keep trying. You can salvage broken mayo, with egg yolk? Really? I think you just blew my mind.
  18. I might be jealous of your Larabar. I cut fruit out this time around because I was using it as a crutch on the last one. Everytime you mention warhammer, I see my norn from GW2 picking up a hammer and charging into a crowd. It is just epic. Good job on getting to day 10. I so know what you mean about you know it is coming. I am having moments of tiger blood and it is awesome. Thankfully, it hit me today right before my workout and I went really heavy. Also making mayo with an immersion blending is so much easier.
  19. Day One & Two Yesterday went well, Day 14 of the whole 30. I am pretty good about making my breakfasts and lunches the night before so I have most of the next day figured out already. Monday wasn't a workout night since I ended up working late. Today also went well. I am a little moody still but I can feel the tiger blood hitting my system. I rocked my group class today, I went for a heavy day and even got in some extra work before class started. I feel really strong today which is nice. I up'd the kettlebell I use for normal swings by a size, and I went really heavy for me on goblet squats. There was alot of ab work which was unusual but I sucked it up and kept moving. Tonight, I am hoping to start putting together the shelve for my closet. My plan for the rest of the week is class on Thursday, and additional workout Friday or Saturday. A+

  23. MAIN QUEST To literally be smaller less then my starting year measurements. Diet Goal: Finish my Whole 30 on Oct 2nd then transition to a paleo diet. +3 CON +1 CHA, + 1 STA Fitness Goal: Do group training 2 times week, +3 STR +1 STA + 1 DEX and an addition 30 minute workout(cycling to/fro work does not count, long bike ride after does). +2 STA +1 VAR (flexible on this one depends on what I end up doing for my addition workout) SIDE QUESTS Life Side Quest: To complete my bedroom, curtains,declutter closet, lamps ect. +1 CHA Fitness Side Quest: To be able to do 10 full pushups on the ground without putting my knees down. +1 STR MY MOTIVATION I want to fit into my little black dress.I love that dress so much and all that it represents to me. The dress is currently hanging up where I see it every morning. STARTING POINT Shapeshifting Adventurer Lvl: 2 STR: 4 DEX: 4 STA: 6 CON: 7 WIS: 5 CHA: 6 ME This will be my 3rd nerdfitness challenge. Not recently though. I have been back and forht on the site, alot has happened this year to me emotionally and I failed some pretty big accomplishments that I thought I would be past at this point. In turn I put off focusing on my personaly goals until I finished my professionally goals and its to the point where I am sick of waiting. I workout in a kettlebell gym and tend to do well on the Whole 30 diet. I plan to concentrate on my diet while keeping my exercise activities constant for now. I have tried to ourun my fork in the past and I get just frustrated and give up.
  24. Day 10,11, 12 I am doing well. ITs been super busy as work because of the deadline on Monday. Foodwise I am doing fine. I did a heavy strength training workout on Thursday it was great. Deadlifts: 135lbs Swings: 28-30 kg Snatches: 10-12 kg pushups pull up training - this is going to be my focus for the next week On the not so bright side my trainer is out of town for the next week and a half. Homework workouts were suppose to be posted but I don't see anyting up for today. So I am going to hit the gym soon and just go with the flow. I don't know what equipment is in the gym in my building, besides lots of cardio. I guess I will see.
  25. Day 9 Today was a great day. I ate great, worked my ass off and packed food for tomorrow. Now I am upset because I have to retake some exams for my profession. To be honest I have been ignoring them since my last time I failed I lost two other exams as well since there is a roll window of time. I have resisted the chocolate, which at this point is almost an imhuman skill. I have also done my best not to throw myself a pity party and start bawling again. IT is moments like this that usually make or break the lifestyle changes I am making. I will be strong in regards to my diet and workouts since it is something I have complete control over. I won't start eating unhealthy since I am depressed or that I have to start studying again. I can do this.
