  1. Great idea! My tendency is to go a little crazy with the minis, so I'm gonna have to watch that... but making sure I keep up other rebels' threads and work on helping others is ALWAYS a good motivator. Starting the 300 a day challenge late too. Making mine fit the challenge so got mine out of the way this morning for the first time. I think I'm gonna like this one! The key is going to be making them interesting over the long haul. I'm worried that I'm gonna get BORED. We shall see! Awesome. Thanks! I've added it to the ol' reading list. Thanks for filling me in. It's good to hear from someone who has actually "been there done that"! Booze PvP it is! Nice accountability group or hard style competition with taunting and bragging rights? Soooooo... about those Turkish Get-ups... Yes, but you are back with a challenge! See? Prioritizing differently already!
  2. I loved your last Tenacity Challenge and I love this one. I'm totally stealing your rewards for each level idea. Great way to stay motivated! A question re: swings. How many sets do you do in the allotted time? As many as possible, rest, then as many as possible again? Split up equally? Never put the weight down? Since I've got 300 a day to do... I figure trying something other than straight sets would be fun!
  3. I am sooooooooo doing this for a warm-up tomorrow. Thanks!!!
  4. Your thread makes me tired... and hungry! *off to make a snack* I agree... go with Spiderman. When the choice is spandex or no spandex... always go with the spandex.
  5. Jerk. ... ... ... ... ... ... She totally could.
  6. They have a giant hole in the middle, how bad can they be?
  7. I forgot how much I enjoy your vids and how thoughtful you are when looking back at your work. I learn a lot.
  8. Video of cat walking is required. REQUIRED.
  9. I think you'll hit 20 this challenge. From the video, it looks like you have the strength just a bit of wasted energy at the top. P.S. PHOTOS OF ALL THE THINGS!!!
  10. Parenthood is all about flexibility. I wish I was a faster learner. Congrats on the promotion!!
  11. I am so completely stoked on your whittling project. Like... more than I should be. YOU MUST POST PHOTOS OR I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL... ahem. Moving on. I would argue that a DIY sandbag is closer to "official" than a manufactured one. Just sayin'.
  12. 1. It's not stalking if you're an Assassin, it's "assassining". 2. Glad to see you've joined a real guild. 3. We gel (again) this challenge. We should totally (virtually) hang out. But seriously... you and I are twinsies for our comeback tours. Dealing with some of the same shit in much of the same ways. I got your back, bro(ette).
  13. This made me LOL. P.S. No actually killing of self, okay? Careful sandbagging! I can't follow your thread if it's prematurely ended by decapitation...
  14. I am skipping a life goal this round... baby steps! You wanna buddy up for a less booze/more water challenge, lemme know!!!
  15. KBG! Thanks for the welcome. I WILL be hitting you up for advice in the next 6 weeks I'm sure. Speaking of name changes... I was really confused as to who this Wolfenstein guy was... Glad to be back in touch!!! Yeah, I'm doing the Pat Flynn 300 swing challenge. I may be cursing his name in a couple of weeks, but so far I like his stuff! One challenge off the beers... one challenge ON THE BEERS AND ALL THE CHEESE CURDS... One challenge off the beers... It's all about being a balanced human being. Me too. Thanks, EG! Awesome. Thanks! Did you end up liking/using the program in the book? I missed you! P.S. You are not stupid nor are you lazy... you're just prioritizing differently. Hit me up if you want some accountability with the flexibility. I could use a partner to keep me honest! Thanks! I'll be checking out your thread... returning rebels should stick together! How long did it take you to pull the trigger on surgery? A lot of people are not-so-tactfully pushing me in that direction, but I'm just not there yet. Part of me wonders if I'll regret not doing it sooner. Ah! So many unknowns!!! I like your username. You are now my spirit animal. Hey! Good to see you again!! Any advice for getting back into the swing of things?
  16. I love the "marriage lifts" concept and the opportunity for play. Really excited to see how it works for you!
  17. Hey, you. I'm back too. It's good to "see" you. (Wolverine)
  18. INTRODUCTION I am a returning NF Rebel, and I'm beyond stoked to be back. My last completed challenge was at the end of 2013. At that time, I was having migraines (the kind that knock you out for a day or two at a time) weekly, and, not only could I not keep up with my training and forum duties, I was barely treading water in real life. Thankfully, the headaches are now under control. Unfortunately, a few months after I started training regularly again I hurt my back. I thought it was a normal tweak (my lower back can be spotty) and was originally diagnosed with a bulging disc, but the pain kept getting worse and I lost function in one of my legs. Went to the doc again and after a couple more x-rays and an MRI they found a ruptured disc right over a nerve root. At this point, I'm doing what I can to avoid surgery. TL;DR Been gone awhile. Back now. Working around an injury. MAIN QUEST I have been lost for a very long time. I allowed health issues to throw me off my game. Instead of working hard at what I could do, I focused on my limitations and lost myself in the process. I want to feel like myself again. I want to BE myself again. In clearer, S.M.A.R.T. oriented terms, this means regular training, better mobility, and a slimmer waistline. Looking in the mirror and being proud of what I see again would be an amazing thing. GOAL 1: TRAINING I need to strengthen my glutes and lower back, and I'd love something new and exciting to learn. The kettlebell swing is famous for back rehabilitation, and I've always wanted to learn how to hurl a cannonball dangerously close to the family jewels. WIN.I have (foolishly?) signed up for the 300 Swings a Day Challenge. What does this mean? 300 kettlebell swings a day for the next 30 days. Muscle memory, here I come. (This will start in Week 2 - doctor's orders!) Additionally, I need to complete at least 3 training sessions a week. I don't really have a plan for these other than that they will be strength focused and need to be written out ahead of time (no winging it). GOAL 2: FLEXIBILITY/MOBILITY/REHAB I need to complete all my back PT exercises, and supplement that work with glute, hamstring, and calf flexibility/mobility. It just so happens that Gold Medal Bodies has a highly praised flexibility program that allows a person to figure out which parts of their body need work, and target problem areas with specific dynamic/static stretches. Most of my doctor-prescribed PT/rehab stuff has been useless, but there are a few exercises that I've found helpful. Every day I shall do those exercises that I've found actually help. GMB's Focused Flexibility is awesome. I bought it several days ago and have already started seeing results (more than the PT stuff I've been doing for MONTHS!). Every day I will complete 2 stretches for each of my 2 areas of focus. Every 2 weeks I will reassess both my areas of focus and chosen stretches. GOAL 3: NUTRITION Time to stop eating/drinking my feelings. Sad trombone.I'll be tracking all of my food and staying under 2,500 calories per day on average. Target will be adjusted as needed to maintain diminishing waistline. I really, really, really don't want to type this out, but... I will not be enjoying any alcoholic beverages on my own. If someone else is drinking, I can too; I cannot do so solo. Since my wife doesn't really drink (like ever) this effectively removes about 90% of the beer from my life. Super, super sad trombone.!!!BONUS GOAL!!! I would like to hit and be maintaining 160 lb. by the end of this challenge. If I do so, then I will reward myself with 7 brand new T-shirts. That sounds like a lot but 1.) it’s a T-shirt for every pound I’ve got to lose, 2.) I buy in bulk, and 3.) this has been a goal of mine for literally MONTHS now and I’ve gotten close, but haven’t been able to dedicate myself to following through completely. I’m looking for some major motivation here!
  19. Dillpedo was my original username. Wolverine just didn't feel right after so much time away. Trying to capture that newcomer's motivation, maybe?
