I need a band of brothers or sisters

Hats off to you for homeschooling! I unschooled my older kids for their first few school years, but ended up putting them in a great charter school. I feel it can be easy to lose yourself in the busyness of motherhood. I think this is a great thing for you to do just for you! PS I'm new here too, and am excited by everyone's goals and progress. -
I'm new here too. I love the practicality of making small changes a little at a time that will add up. I think it's great that you have already been down the fitness road and seen results. I feel that would motivate me more than my current mindset of 99% "I can do this" and 1% "What if it doesn't work?" I'm excited for you on this journey!

Trying this “Joining” Thing

Thanks guys! Pavowski, I am using the NF guide to doing a pull-up at the moment. I'm on the first baby step of dumbbell rows for now. I'd like to do a pull-up by the end of the year. It seems like a small goal with a long timeline, but that means I will be able to achieve it. -
Hi there! I'm a newbie too. Do you have a plan yet? I have kind of a rough outline, but nothing too concrete. I think it is great that you have already lost weight once. I feel like that would reinforce for me that it can be done, even with the thyroid hurdle. I'm really excited to be on this journey with you!

Hi all you inspiring people! I don’t usually join in on forums, but this seems like a great place to get support for my lifestyle change. I have three kids between 5 and 10 and am happily married to a wonderful man. I am 5’9”, 170 lbs, with a little more jiggle than I’d like. I am allergic to gyms (as an introvert, it takes a lot of energy to interact with people so I wouldn’t have any energy leftover to workout, Ha!). I ride my bicycle for transportation whenever feasible, but I am a cruiser, not a speeder. I discovered Steve’s bodyweight circuit a couple years ago and really liked it for the week or two before I lost my momentum and gave it up. I also like to spend 20 minutes or so on yoga and meditation in the mornings, but this happens sporadically these days. My main obstacle is perfectionism. If I don’t get up at 5:00am to workout or if I eat one bad meal, I feel defeated and give up entirely. For the last few days, I have been trying a new tack with a bit more compassion for myself. I have been doing bodyweight squats and incline pushups throughout the day, when I think of it. Today, I did 75 squats total, 30 incline pushups, and a 10 dumbbell rows on each arm. I really don’t know what the heck I am doing, but I am determined to figure it out this time. That’s why I joined the forums: talking to you all will help keep me accountable. I eat pretty well when I plan things out (I dig veggies) but am succeptible to getting cheap pizza for the family when it’s too late to make anything for dinner. My two, long-term goals are to slim down enough that pictures of myself don’t make me sad and to be able to do an unassisted pull-up. I even saved up and bought the bar a couple years ago before realizing I don’t even have the upper body strength to hang from it for more than a few seconds. We,, that’s my rant. Nice to meet you all!
