  1. Maybe you can get some teabags at the grocery store. It sounds like you're having a great vacation. I would love to try kayaking sometime.
  2. Week 3 Review: Goal 1: I did my bodyweight workout 3 times. Goal 2: I rode my bike 15 miles. Goal 3: I did not drink any soda at all. I thought about it a couple times, but I never did it. Goal 4: I got my test results back. This week was a success for me even though I was traveling and had more distractions than usual.
  3. At my grandparent's house I found this photo of me on my wedding day. http://web.stagram.com/p/229136642623565529_180756690 This was about 80 lbs ago! Gah. I had recently lost about 10 lbs because I had become interested in diet and exercise, so I was eating all whole foods and working out about an hour a day. I felt so good about myself here. I was 155 lbs with a flat stomach, thighs that didn't touch and my hip bones were visible. I had tons of energy and always felt good. This is my photographic proof that yes, I do have big bones. Hip bones, anyway. I was a size 12 here, and there was no weight to lose without being unhealthy. I'm always going to have full hips, and that's OK. I don't really expect to get as thin as I was at 19, but I want to feel good again!
  4. Starting an exercise habit is tough. Try to remember that feeling of accomplishment when you do it.
  5. Congratulations on the book!!!! Are you going anywhere for vacation?
  6. Actually my husband never drinks soda, and my kids rarely do. For a little while I was drinking about 2 sodas per day, and he was giving me some side-eye. So my family is proud of me. I'm lucky. I've been terribly busy, so in order to make my goal I will have to do the body weight workout Sat and Sun, as well as ride my bike 10 miles. Cramming it into the end of the week, while obvious not ideal, will have to suffice for now. It's better than not doing it at all, right? I got my results from my placement test, and I scored in the top 1% of all test takers. (I almost said testees (testes?)) They even sent me a little certificate for my superior results. My goal next week is finish applying for financial aid.
  7. I'm home from visiting Grandparents and I kept up with my goals. happy happy! Week 2 Review: I did my body weight circuit 3X. I rode the equivalent of riding my bike 15 miles. I generally drink a lot of soda on long car trips. I am proud to say I did not have one single soda all week!!!! This was a big fail last week, so I am very proud of this.
  8. Good luck! You have a lot of work ahead of you. The good thing about your first 3 goals is that they aren't ridiculously time consuming, so you have no excuse not to keep up with them! Writing a book is another story! I'm cheering you on though. You can do it!
  9. Hey mama! I'm following your daughter, so I'll follow you too. I'm very interested to see how you do on those push ups. I literally can't even do one on my toes.
  10. And I might add, I went to my mom's house, where dozens of sodas are always available, and I refrained from taking one. I had water, and it was great. I don't have to spend the rest of the day regretting that soda. I rode my bike 5.2 miles, and did 6 min of this week's challenge. Feeling pretty good!
  11. No, I didn't. I'll do this week's challenge though.
  12. Good for you keeping up with your goals despite an injury!
  13. Also, I can feel a little more firmness in my legs.
