  1. Hey 2Tone, So glad to see another rude boy on here, big ups. I hope you're keeping up the pace in week 2, if not, be sure to pick it up, pick it up, pick it up.
  2. Ugh, sickness. Although yesterday was a planned run day I started feeling really nauseous and started vomiting around midday yesterday. It may be the easy way to lose weight, but definitely not the healthiest. I left work early and slept from about 2pm 'til 7pm, I then put my daughter to bed and slept from about 8pm to 6ish, and feeling much better today. I think I'll try and bust out a run tonight, not sure if it would be the best for my recovery though. Anyone have any advice on exercising whilst recovering from sickness?
  3. Well done on the running and making your posts so detailed and regular. keep up the top work, go dominate week 2!
  4. Well done on being so committed to the challenge and updating your posts when you're clearly pretty busy. All the best with the rest of week 2, Vicki.
  5. Ah, the old 8 hours sleep per night, the tough one. Hope it's all going well for you, keep us posted.
  6. Also, I noticed all the best runners at the Commonwealth Games were wearing this gear, so I thought I'd try it out. I didn't run as fast as the KENYANS though, I should have downed a powerthirst first. KENYANS! Kenya dig it?
  7. Managed to do an 8km non-stop run in an hour last night, my furthest ever, feels good man. It's amazing how I can go from struggling to run without stopping for a walk in half an hour, to running non stop for an hour and feel like I could keep going in just a matter of weeks. My wife said I'm starting to lose weight in the face already, and I can really feel the difference all this running is making to my leg muscles. I'm doing really well with the running three times a week challenge, and the drinking only once a week challenge, but I'm having soooo much trouble with the get up early challenge I have a 4 month old that wakes every few hours during the night, so that makes it hard, and also Adelaide is experiencing its coldest mornings in over 100 years or something. Still, excuses, excuses, I want to try and do it sometime this week, so hopefully I'll have something to post here soon.
  8. Thanks so much Terinatum, particularly for the good luck, I'm gonna need it.
  9. Thanks, it seems the head chef is from Alabama, so I guess that's why it's so southern. I'll definitely hit up those pickles. What are collard greens? Is it just cabbage? I've heard about it in rap music, but that is the extent of my knowledge.
  10. And I just realized I've said 'mate' in my reply, which is something that seems Australian but Australians actually say.
  11. Thanks for the tip, mate. Definitely the horrible fast food category http://thecurioussquire.com.au/files/curious_pretty_groovy_menu.pdf The menu includes Deep Fried Oreos and Nutella Pizza. I think it's like the equivalent of 'Outback Steakhouse' in the states, stuff Australians don't really eat, but seem Australian. 'Let's chuck another shrimp on the Barbie!'
  12. Hey scouts, Newbie here, just started my first 6 week challenge and I'd like to say a big thanks to your leaders and ambassadors for being so cool with everything. They even pretended to think my jokes were funny, so that was nice. I've been told that I'm very scout orientated, I love running and the whole weights/strength thing has no real appeal to me. Also, scout rhymes with stout, which is delicious, and I don't think I can be a Ranger because I'm a Bruins fan. I'm currently running between 5 and 7.5km three nights a week, with the ultimate goal of losing weight, but also looking to complete my city's (Adelaide, Australia) City to Bay 12km "fun" run in late September. I'm just wondering if it's ok to run 2 nights in a row for someone at my beginner level? I ran last night, but I know I can't run on Saturday night so I'm wondering if running tonight is a good idea? Any input would be greatly appreciated, and if there is anybody else here from Adelaide I'd love to hear from you. Also, feel free to check out my first challenge here: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/51045-holy-schmidt-here-we-go/
  13. Ran another 5km last night, despite the pouring rain. Managed to do 5.25km in 33 min, which I'm happy with considering the first 2.5km of the run was uphill. Is it a good idea to run again tonight? Or is it too soon? I'm going out on Saturday night, so I wont be able to run then. Saturday night is also going to be a challenge, I'm going out to an American style restaurant and intend on eating like an American (sorry, America) and drinking like an Australian (not sorry, Australia). I weighed myself out of curiosity last night, the scales showed I've gone from 78.9kg to 77.8kg, but it could have just been a time of day/contents of stomach thing. Anyways, I'll keep working at it and see how it goes.
