  1. Thank you so much everyone for the "clarification." Seriously though, I think I get it now. We used to have to do the same thing when we would pasteurize milk from scratch. You know, the good ole days of growing up on a farm. Yuck!
  2. That is so true! There is so much information on this site alone, let alone the entire GoogiVerse (Google Universe). We checked out some Clarified butter at Wal-Mart (I hate shopping there), and it's like $5.00 for 3-4Oz. (80-100 ml) jar. We are going to start using Almond oil, rather. But, yeah, while knowledge is our friend, there seems to be a big difference between Hunting, Fishing, and Finding, versus opening a jar, even though it's "Paleo." So many fine lines and small print. Thank you for the comment, it's so inspirational to hear that you're 90%. This is so difficult. Popcorn is my main vice. But, I am cutting that out of 90% of my diet.
  3. OMG! You all rock! No pun intended, cause it's the Paleo-Period. Get it? Rock? W/E Blarg!! lol Anyway, thanks for advice. I gave up pop about 2 weeks ago, until the other day. I had a Cranberry Splash Sierra Mist. But, outside of that, I don't drink anything but water and the occasional decaf Iced-Tea that my wife makes from scratch. I have been drinking more water lately. My objective is to build myself up to drinking about 140-160 ounces of water in two weeks. Thank you for the advice on taking it slowly. In the past 5 days, I slipped only twice. The other day with some Cranberry pop, and yesterday with a cheese on a baked potato. However, we have been eating vegetables and meat only, outside of those two little mistakes. I am reading as many blogs as I can, when I have the time, and it's definitely helping. Currently, I am preparing myself for all of the awesomeness that this page has to offer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleolithic_diet Thanks, Tim
  4. That' funny that you brought up squash; we just bought some. My wife has been wanting to learn to make Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti for a while now. I forgot all about using it for pasta though. We bought it for Chili, in replace of beans. Thanks for the tips!
  5. Hi there, Have you considered getting your Thyroid checked? I know it seems like a backward step in the opposite direction, but, you may want to consider it.
  6. Thank you so much. The hardest part is accepting help. I am here to stay though. We only have one natural body, and the doctor's can't have!
  7. Thank you. That is very informative as well. Nice usage of critical thinking. My biggest problem is that I really want this as my lifestyle, and I am only a few days in. Tonight, I made spaghetti and meatballs for my children, as they love it, and that's the food we still had on hand. Since we've just started, but am halfway into the month, much of the food we have is for non-paleo-vores, if that's a word; ha, it is now! We still have real butter in the fridge, unsalted, and I am thinking about using the guide that I listed earlier as a reference and tutorial to sift out the heavy whey's (Lactose and Casein). I really want a life behind a camera. I can't expect anyone to take me serious if I don't take myself serious. So, thank you for this alleviation.
  8. I can see why it is a controversial issue. I think what it really comes down to should be whether "man" had access to it or not, without additional processing. We are learning about this slowly, so it's really easy to take the wrong advice, as well, as the right. Differentiating the two is the hardest thing.
  9. Hi, everyone: I was wondering why Clarified Butter is actually okay for the Paleo/Primal diet. My wife and I are very new at this and am trying to go strong. We made some Paleo Chili using squash, zucchini, Lean Hamburger, onions, garlic, etc... and the basic spices. However, since we are new at this, and everyone seems to want to sell a cookbook, it's difficult understanding what is and isn't the "right" for the Paleo lifestyle. I mean, I found this: http://culinaryarts.about.com/od/culinaryfundamentals/ss/clarifiedbutter.htm ...and there were charts I read that showed the correct pathways to paleo. However, there are many disputes as to what is and isn't acceptable. Why is clarified butter acceptable? Coming from whole fats from pasteurized milk, then reduced and skimmed of that fat, pasteurized milk is processed milk. And, we no longer suckle from our Mother's breasts since we've been weened, then why would I use another animals breasts for the same nutrients, after the weening stage of our Human Life-Cycle? It's a bit confusing and some "clarification" would indeed be very helpful. Thanks, Tim
  10. Hi, hfrum: Thank you for the suggestion; that's a good idea. I am starting to be more active now. This place is full of knowledge!
  11. Thank you so much. It's a difficult start. But, I do enjoy it. Thanks, Tim
  12. Hi there, My name is Tim. My wife and I have been trying to lose weight for, what it seems, ever! We've tried vegetarian dieting, and Green Smoothie dieting. We have failed miserably. I lost, roughly, 36lbs when I was a vegetarian for 6 months. In that time, I also stopped drinking Pop; that was a big one for me. Now, I am even heavier than when I first started, two years ago. Throughout the last year, my wife and I have been observing her brother. He's a member here, and is two years older. He is looking really good now, both with his increasing-smiles and attitude, and in general. He is much more fit now. The beauty of this community is that it's for everyone! It really is. If you're too small, there is that side to this, and you can still be a part of the rebellion. If you're too, well, you know what? I will say it. If you're fat, there's also a community here. I am fat. I am not happy. And, I am 33. I want to enjoy my life, not lose it. I am desperate for help in staying disciplined. Quick Stats: Age: 33 Height: 5'11" Weight: 323 Profession: Unemployed, Aspiring filmmaker Degree: B.S. in CIS, pursuing a Master's in Cinematography Not that this matters, but, I want to enjoy intimacy with my wife, and it's difficult being overweight and out of breath. I made this picture. I hope it gives the right message, as I am sick of feeling sick! I used a woman, as they are much easier and more attractive to look at. Marketing 101. http://oi49.tinypic.com/oggpc6.jpg
  13. Hi there,

First of all, thanks for looking into the Data Recovery with me. Secondly, please look into this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-bOC0-Hbu0

I am starting a studio as well. In the next year, I will be acquiring the necessary essentials to start producing. Even if they are a thousand short-films, it's enough to get noticed. I am focusing on Animation to start with, as Blender, GIMP, and other Gfx software is free and open-source. I use Mixcraft and Audacity for my audio, and an M-Audio 88-key Midi Controller. I prefer weighted keys, but, in time that will happen.

I hope this interests you. Because, I am entering in the MBA program at my college to become a better salesman to investors and Executive Producers. And, the community I am starting, eventually, will be right up your alley.

P.S. - If you don't have Script writing software, I use Celtx. It's free. They do offer Cloud Storage starting at $5.00/mo

    Thanks

  14. Hey there, The drive was just a "Primary" drive for storage. No RAID was used at this time, though, the server does allow it. I am looking into a various of Data and Partition Recovery software from sourceforge, or other Open-Source solutions. We never set up RAID in any of our labs, nor any time in the last 4 years at college. So, I do not have experience with that at this time. Eventually, everything will be RAID'ed. As, that seems to be the best way for Disaster Recovery. I have not messed with the server since it lost magically lost the partition. I Eff'n hate Windows for taking ownership of added hardware, and infecting it with their signatures. Thanks
  15. Hello world...of Rebellioniverse, I have no idea where to post this here. But, I figured of asking the rebellion anyway. The other day I was configuring a Windows Server 2008 OS. I was setting it up for File Services so we had one central place to access, share, and stream files from, for our internal network. It's a small network consisting of roughly 6-7 PC's and devices with access; it has a 2wire router, and 1 Server. While I was configuring the File Services, I had to find the drives I wanted to show up. Without too much detail as to how, because it was automatic and I don't know how, one of the most important drives became unallocated. It has not been formatted. But, the contents of that drive are as important as me losing weight. Yeah, like, memories, personal files, finances, and overall, a 500Gb wallet of Pentagon information. Well, a Pentagon, to me. How do I recover the contents of this drive without destroying this data? How do I re-allocate it so it can be a Primary partition again? And, how do I make sure it doesn't happen again, because this process was conjured by Windows Server 2008 itself. I am astonished at this, and still in awe, as if watching a marble roll down the side of a mountain turning into an avalanche of random destruction. No clue as to why, or how, it happened. I really could use some advice here. Thanks
