  1. Hey, folks. I am a big guy (6'0", 285 (down from 330!)), and I've been dabbling in powerlifting for a few months now. I have had some weight loss, and I've seen that my body is restructuring, but I'm not losing size. I'm worried I'm just replacing fat with muscle, and I'll stay this size forever. Is that reasonable? Is powerlifting just not for me, with regards to my goals? Or is this just a temporary transition and eventually I'll potentially lose size in addition to weight?
  2. Hey, folks. I'm brand new here, and ... well... I'm a fat guy. 6'0", 285 (though down from 330!) and I'm frankly intimidated to go join a local yoga group at this size. I was wondering if you can suggest any resources for me to start learning yoga on my own, or with a small group of friends? I'm starting at zero here. To be clear, I'm not looking for something like DDP Yoga, which is a full routine and lifestyle change... I already have a workout routine I'm okay with. I'm just looking to add 15 or 20 minutes a day of yoga.
  3. Hi, folks. I live in an area where I am unable to join a martial arts school. The only option near me is Tae-Kwon-Do, I'm just not very interested in that variety. However, I'll likely be moving in the next 2 or 3 years to a more urban setting, where there's more variety... bjj, aikido, judo, etc. I was wondering what I could be doing now to get in better shape for when I inevitably move? I'm 6'0", 285 (down from 330 in the last year or so), and my current routine is running (5K, hoping to work up to 10K, 1/2m, m, etc.), and powerlifting.
  4. Hi, guys. I grew up in Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Enola, Shiremanstown, Harrisburg, Palmyra, Hershey, Hummelstown, Middletown, etc... the list goes on (we moved around a lot, can you tell?) Anymore, I'm out closer to Pittsburgh, but I still visit Harrisburg quite often, and may end up moving back in the next few years. It's just so freaking expensive to live out there. Anyway, I wanted to throw my name in this little chat.
