Thank you :-)
It's Loch Ken (9 miles of lochy loveliness). I've mainly done wild swimming as jumping off a boat when I could (the sea, outer port at Dover, illicitly in clean canals etc). You've got a wetsuit on, so are pretty buoyant if that's what worries you? I'm going with a club so I'm not on my own which is what worries me till I get used to the location. Looking forward to it.

Day 17 (lying on my back in the mud looking up at the wagon ;-)
1) complete 4 sets of wall push ups every other day (✔︎ 4 x 10 from 12" lower than previous height).
2) eat at least 5 different fruit/veg at least 5 days each week X (not even close. Had a Scotch Pie today for the first time in many years. I was a posh one from the local butcher, but still, not a veg in sight. Baked beans don't count, eh? Then coz still not really hungry toast & marmalade for tea. Yum. I can't be perfect all the time ;-) I *did* have an apple though so not a total washout.
3) drink a glass of water before every evening meal X didn't have proper tea.
4) meditate 5 minutes each day ✔︎ (will do later. To reflect on my shocking behaviour...oh, I had Maltesers too. The naughtiness never ended today)
Happy I've got 16 days in before blowing out. Back on that wagon tomorrow :-)
On the plus side, here's my local loch where I'll be starting some wild swimming in the spring...

It's taken from the top of Arthur's Seat which is the volcano overlooking Edinburgh, Scotland.

Stewed fruit sounds delicious!
Yes, there's no excuse for not having fruit when you can keep bags of frozen berries in the freezer and prep it in 10 minutes. I usually do a big tub's worth and snack on it through the week. If I'm feeling very chef-y I add some spices. Usually cinnamon ;-)

Your veggies sound delicious! I love veggies
Fortunately I do too - makes the challenge a bit less of a challenge. Ah, maybe I pitched too low! Next time I need to include something about eating fewer biscuits between the veggies ;-)

Anyone other than me think that January is truly the butthole of the year? Cold...dark...ice & snow... Need more exercise and endorphins just thinking about it!
Look on the bright side, January is more than halfway over now :-)
Well done for keeping going. Persistence is the thing.

@Little Miss Camouflage Oh yes. We did a lot of punches, not really any power or technique, just getting the muscles moving and the heart rate up. I think it is going to hurt to lift my coffee cup today from the DOMS
It sounds great. I've never tried MMA. At least you know it's having an effect if it hurts ;-)

@Little Miss Camouflage It was a bit blowy up Arthur's Seat but otherwise a nice morning. Thanks for the info about appetite etc. I feel like often long distance stuff is mind over matter.

Great work on the first week. Pushup could benefit from more reps. 4 sets of how many reps are you doing right now?
I'm on 4 x 20 push ups with 2 mins rest between. I admit I only did 90 seconds rest on the last session at I didn't feel I needed the 2 minutes. I think it might be time to move to the stairs so I can adjust the level as I progress?

It looks like a short reflection on week 1 is in order...
1) I feel I'm doing ok on the push ups. I must go and read what the progression is (lower sill or more push ups?)
2) I've been good at doing all my own cooking this week, so this has been ok. I've remembered to take fruit to work as snacks. So need to maintain this.
3) I just need to remember to do this. It might actually be easier to do it before every meal rather than just tea-time. I sometimes eat tea at odd times so it would help with this too.
4) I've enjoyed this and might extend it to 10 minutes. It's better earlier in the day so I'll try to do that this week.
Feeling ready for week 2 now :-)

There was a good programme on the other week on Radio Scotland:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0001zf2
She interviews a guy who did one wild swim a week round Scotland for a year. Worth a listen you're keen!
I think she mentioned a club - they didn't have a branch down my way so I didn't take details. I'm sure they had places in the central belt. They interviewed a couple of great women from Portobello too. That's near you! Go on, go on, go on....
