  1. Going strong so far. Everything except exercise is going well. I'm planning to start my strength training again slowly when the pain decreases. I lost 1,4 kg since I started and I'm stoked! Now it's a question to keep the momentum going. I've got a party tonight but I plan to eat clean on Sunday again so I don't lose my momentum. Streaks: Meditation (goal: daily): 3 Intermittent Fasting (goal: 6 days a week): 13 No liquid calories (goal: 5 days a week): 6 Eat clean (goal: 5 days a week): 6 Exercise (goal: 3 days a week): 0
  2. Okay, so my daily battle log hasn't really been... well, daily. I had to put my strength training on hold because of the chronic pain, but I'm still making progress. I'm at 88.2 kg now (-0.8 since my respawn point) and I feel good with my nutrition. I've started logging everything in MyFitnessPal again and this has been helpful for me. I've restarted my meditation habit as well. Streaks: Meditation (goal: daily): 1 Intermittent Fasting (goal: 6 days a week): 11 No liquid calories (goal: 5 days a week): 4 Eat clean (goal: 5 days a week): 4 Exercise (goal: 3 days a week): 0
  3. Yes, I did it! Clocked in at 1750 kcal today and managed to do my planned exercise (workout 1B, scaled down for those exercises that were painful) A successful day, tomorrow's another battle. Side note: if it weren't for this accountability log, I probably wouldn't have done the exercise... Thanks to anyone that's reading this!
  4. I drank and ate a lot on New Year's Eve and New Year, so I look forward to healthier habits. Yesterday: I worked 17 hours yesterday and didn't find the time/energy/willpower to do my planned exercise. I did manage to do my meditation, however. I didn't drink calories but didn't manage to eat clean (pastrami, bread) either. Today (ongoing): I'm in a lot of pain this week so I'll probably do only half of the exercise that I planned (workout 1B) to keep it manageable. I'm committed to eating clean today. Current streaks: Meditation (daily): 3 Intermittent Fasting (6 days a week): 3 No liquid calories (5 days a week): 1 Eat clean (5 days a week): 0 Exercise (3 days a week): 2
  5. Today and tomorrow are going to be off-days. But with that said, I still did my planned workout (1A) + meditation today
  6. Level 1-ish from the academy. I started with the workouts (inconsistently) at level 0. I'm almost fully at level 1 now. Level 1A is no problem but 1B (especially plank) is still work-in-progress.
  7. Today was definitely a win: I started tracking my calories again (to raise the awareness of what I eat) and, even though I didn't eat at level 6 like I usually aim for, I clocked in at 1863 calories.
  8. Introduction Hi, I'm Baloo and first-time participator. I think these challenges are a fun way to make progress towards my goals and not feel like I'm the only one walking this path. You can find my introduction here . Main Quest My main quest is to be okay with who I am To me, that means... I like what I see when I look in the mirror I have more self-confidence and self-respect Challenge Goals I want to focus on my habits in my first challenge: Level 1 workout 3 days a week I'm currently a little bit below level 1 with my exercises, trying to find a balance between exercise and pain so I feel motivated/encouraged to continue. Intermittent fasting 6 days a week I've already been doing intermittent fasting for a few months, so I just want to continue this habit. Eat at level 5 at least 5 days a week No liquid calories, sweets, pasta, bread, ... Looking forward to the challenge, I'll be starting January 1st
  9. It's the level I was at ± 2 years ago, so that's what I aim for at the moment. Building muscle is not easy for me because of my conditions, but if I do I won't stare blindly at the number on the scale. Thanks for the support! And for the reminder to have fun along the way :-)
  10. I'll be following you Balthazar. With battle scars comes experience as well, which already shows in how you're tackling the mindset modules. I know you've got this. PS: wow level 5! That's something I can only dream of at the moment...
  11. Hi All, Baloo here. I joined the NF Academy 16 months ago, went through all the mindset and nutrition modules, everything made a lot of sense, printed the nutrition cheat sheet, put it on my fridge, ... and gained 6kg of fat. So, MAYBE, that was the best start ever... I got inspired by @Balthazar77 on the Facebook forum to create an account on the forums and to respawn. What I'm looking for mostly is accountability so anyone willing to help out is appreciated. So a little bit of background story: I'm 30+ years old, live in Belgium. I have a chronic disease and as a result, I am in pain 24/7 (mostly upper back pain). It's something that comes with its own set of physical and mental challenges (mainly willpower and physical exercise) but I don't want to use it as an excuse or something to hide behind. I may be dealt the card to play life on hard mode, but I'll be playing none the less. So my starting point now is I'm 89kg and my waist is 102cm. My goal is to lose 15kg and I'd like to be fitter as well. Of course, I have 2 difficult days ahead of me, but I'm going to start with my new lifestyle step by step starting today (if only to be able to pretend it wasn't a new year's resolution). Wish me luck and thanks in advance for accepting me in the family. Baloo
