  1. The wall....the wall is a project that I started for ever ago. We split our sun room into two rooms: one a computer room, one a bedroom. However, thought the wall is up, there's one short bit that still needs sheet rock, and the whole thing needs to be mudded and painted. The materials are being delivered tomorrow and I'm giving myself one week to get it done!
  2. I was so proud of myself! The man got in the car after dipping into the gas station, and handed me a Mt. Dew. I handed it back to him and told him I didn't want it and reminded him that I don't drink soda any more. Next stop he got me a bottle of water and some orange juice. Small Victories!!!
  3. ARGH! So my car died horribly and has been in the shop. So, no time at the gym. I have walked my ass off in the mean time, and done the Angry Birds workout when I've had a free couple of minutes as much as possible. TODAY I GET THE CAR BACK!!! And the kicking my ass in the gym shall commence once again!
  4. Rock it out, brother-mine! Oh, sub-goal 9? Pics or it didn't happen.
  5. Today I rocked out 4 miles on the bike and busted my ass in a dance class. Tomorrow: body weight workouts
  6. ...or at least as close as possible. It's a neverending quest, because nobody anywhere ever is a Nat 20. But it's a good goal, because everyone can always strive to be better. So. Last challenge, the only thing I succeeded on was cutting soda out....and then as soon as it was over it came back. This time, it's going to stick. Fitness/Diet Challanges: 1. Get to gym twice a week (this is more challenging than it seems, trust me) (3 STA, 2 STR) I joined a gym at the end of the week last week, and am SUPER excited about getting to go. They're 24 hour, play my kind of music, and have claymores and broadswords hanging around their office and entry area. My kind of place! 2. Cut soda out of my diet (again) (2 CON, 1 WIS) The key here is going to be getting the hubs to stop thinking he's being sweet by bringing me a bottle of sugary flavored syrup when he gets home from work. Bring me a nectarine, dammit! Or a wildflower! Or one of those pewter D20s I've been drooling over! I'm putting 1 Wis on this for the willpower it's going to require. 3. Lose 15 lbs (2 CHA) This has the smallest amount of points allotted not because it's a lesser goal, but because I'm more concerned with being healthy than I am actual weight. Both are completely interlinked right now, though. Life Challenge: Complete that unfinished wall in my house! (2 WIS, 2 DEX, 1 STA) This is a project that's been sitting unfinished for three (THREE!!!) years. Hence the large point allotment. It's also being done by hand, hence the Dex and Stam points. It WILL be done in the next six weeks! Weight: 285 lbs Measurements: Chest: 51 Waist: 43 Hip: 58.5 Thigh: 32 Bicep: 17.5 See that??? That's bloody ridiculous! Let's do this.
  7. I'm in Lawson, MO, just north of KC and remarkably close to Scorpion. I will likely not be in shape for the Warrior Dash, seeing as how I have a LOT of extra weight to get off, but if we do that, I'll happily come along to cheerlead!
  8. I'm jumping into that 6 week challenge! My kids are excited to help too. Can't wait to see the results!
  9. There was once a mighty knight. She was as strong as she was beautiful, a champion of the realm. Nothing could defeat her. As the years passed and the wheel turned, the knight became slower, more dependant on foods full of evil alchemy. Seasons of doing battle for survival had left her beaten, the weight on her mind turning her true form into something virtually unrecognizable. Then she ran into a fellow knight, one she'd met at the height of her adventures, so long ago. With the encouragement of her brother in arms, she realized that the weight was owning her and her life. It ends now. ****************** Hi everyone! I'm Sairin, a 35 year old mother of three (with two additional stepkids). Over the course of the last ten years, I've gained an entire extra person's worth of weight. I topped out at 306 lbs. Eep! This needs to go. This is my first ever six-week challenge. I know I'm a couple of days late, but that just means I'll have to stay with it and work harder! I really don't know much of what I'm doing, so I'm sure I'll be asking for tips. My goals: 1. Cut out all soda completely. 2. Lose 15 lbs. 3. Exercise 30 minutes every day. 4. Finish building my son's bedroom. Here we go!
  10. Hey everyone! I've been following NF for a while now, and while I've been trying to do better, I realized that without people to a. cheer me on and b. stay on my ass about it, what I'm trying to do will never succeed. Me: Three kids, low funds, less time, too much Mt. Dew and four years of WoW ballooned my college (and pretty stinkin' fit) 140 lbs to 306. Like a noob, I was constantly getting ganked by old habits. They camped my graveyard so when I rezzed, down I went. Enter my friend theactionpoint, who's been following the Way of the Nerd for some time now. There was the boot in my ass, now for the cheering section. Helloooo, cheering section! So. I've finally registered with the forum and posted. Here's my committment. Here's my first checkpoint. Here's to seeing level 2 without having to repair armor.
