  2. I did learn about some makeup when my mother went to a workshop when I was a kid. To me it was like paint, so it was fun.

Now men beauty product rises very quickly. And I won't be surprised if one day men have to wear makeup to work too. (I just hope to retire before that.)

The last night I hardly got any sleep at all because I was being assaulted by mosquitoes. Every time I got close to falling asleep the darn things would come buzzing around my ears.  I finally got to sleep around 4. Then this morning I was woken up because my arms & feet were so itchy.  I have about 30 bites all over, which is a situation I would describe as "less than ideal".  Hopefully tonight will be better.

I am excited, about what's to come but also slightly worried for myself and about some of the people I'll be leaving behind.

But this needs to happen and it will.

One more day ahead, then the adventure starts.

I hope you are well and your challenge goes strongly!

I wish you the best with the adventure ahead!

I just got shit for being afraid of spiders. If anyone needs me I'll be huddled under a blanket in the corner, still hoping I'm adopted.

Fear of spiders are the most common fear among humans. I'm sorry that you 'got shit' for expressing that fear. Humans, especially parents, are difficult to understand sometimes.

I hope that spider is gone-- and the feelings that make you huddle in the corner have subsided.

I am actually number 1 agent at the spider killing unit in my family (although I secretly love them because I am a sworn enemy with fruit flies, mosquitoes, and baby roaches), but I have this silly fear of height that I got called 'unmanly' and 'childish' for. I know sometimes people hurt you with the best of intentions. But the hurt you feel is still real.

I wish I could give all of your posts a heart-eyes emoji reaction, because that's how I feel when I see all of those yummy food pics.

    Great workout!!

Thanks Nic! Maybe it's too yummy and that's' why I am... a little too happy.

Earlier this week I was posting in someone else's thread about how difficult it can be for us to remember that it actually is okay to slow down and take it easy with we are sick or injured. It's only a bad habit if it stays with us after the injury/illness has healed.

Anything related to the jaw or teeth is horrendous and makes life utterly miserable. Give yourself a break. :)

Thanks! Yes, a slow pace now and then is good for me, I think.

  8. Saturday (yay)!

    Food

8:00 Congee with pork, mushrooms, and duck egg

12:00 Grilled pork, young chili paste, and blanched veggies

12:30 Sago jelly with taro and corn in coconut milk

17:00 Iced green tea (no milk, no sugar)

My ancestral Chinese blood probably boil in rage for the idea of an iced matcha, but my indigenous Siamese blood and American cheese in my veins said A-Okay.

20:00 Tempura salad with Japanese dressing. The fried stuffs are aubergine (I like this new word,) pumpkin, and carrots. (One fry from a kid's plate)

    Sympathy

I was eating dinner with a friend's family. A professor dad who's struggling with a giant allergy-induced headache. A PhD student mom who is now in charge of everything. And a five year old who is too intelligent (and energetic) for his own parents' good.

I really want a family like theirs one day but at the same time appreciate that I don't have to deal with this yet.

    Exercise

    5x3 pull ups

    5x3 chin ups

    5x3 squats at 95 kg

5x3 bench press at 70 kg

    40mx3 farmer's walks at 40 kg each

8x3 deltoid raises at 25 lb each

8x3 inclined presses at 35 lb each

8x3 shoulder press at 35 lb each.

And that's the weekend for me!

My girlfriend got me a video game for valentines. This makes me less productive today, but I'm a happy camper!

    Yes. You are doing great!

Now you see why I asked what color tomatoes. We also tend to do some yellow and orange and pink. We are not allowed Green Tomatoes when ripe since Hubby will never know which tomatoes are ready.

Yes I do! This looks absolutely beautiful!

    Beautiful!

    Agreed!

    Wednesday

    Food

    6:00 Dark chocolate

8:30 Rice noodle with pork and egg

9:00 Tapioca dumpling in coconut milk

    11:00 Vendor pastry

12:00 Rice, garlic pork, brussels sprouts with pork

    18:00 Fried chicken, fries

    Exercise

    None

I woke up with a horrible ache in my left jaw in the middle of the night. I had to skip work for half a day to go to the doctor. Apparently, I have been chewing ice and grinding my teeth as I work, so my jaw is inflamed.

It threw off my schedule and made me feel grumpy all day (hence the sweets and comfort food). I went to bed at around 8 pm and I didn't work out. A bad habit here.

    Thursday

    Food

    6:00 Black coffee

8:00 little fish, boiled egg with fish sauce, vegetable soup

12:00 Pork belly with rice, pickled veggies, boiled veggies

19:30 Pork curry over rice, jicama

20:00 Sticky rice and coconut cake.

    Exercise:

    30 chin ups

    30 push ups

    30 squats

I was so ready to work out after working late tonight, but the gym was closed early! So I worked out at home for a bit.

I had been feeling tired and disappointed in myself as of late. I feel that I want some rest. Maybe the sickness yesterday helped me relax a little and regain my balance! I should get back on the work out though.

The tomato looks weird in that list.

Haha, yeah, may be that's why it's foreign?

We call those Guangdong (Canton) sausages here.

Your mango looks really pale compared to what I am used to

I guess it's off-season mango. That's why, to an on-season one, it's PALE IN COMPARISON!! HA!!

Nah it's actually because it's a variety. There are many varieties of mangoes in Thailand.

Also, good to learn the name of the sausage! We call them 'kunchiang' because... reasons...

You may only have hit orange and green the first, but the dishes look varied and tasty. Your second day food looks awesome as well.

Also, this is objectively a correct and true fact of life.

Thank you! And yes... there are many types of sweet dumplings here and I love them all!

Not going to lie, my first thought is what color tomato is it? Youngest Agent loves growing food of random colors and tomatoes are her favorite. I wonder if black tomatoes would be purple, yellow,  or red...  You could probably make a rainbow out of just those.

True that! I haven't seen a purple tomato, but I can imagine one.

    Does aubergine/eggplant count as purple?

Purple eggplant, yes. This is the first time I have heard of the word aubergine.
    In Thai there is:

    Plate eggplant (aubergine)

    Long eggplant/purple eggpant (Chinese aubergine)
    Bunch eggplant (Turkey berry)
    Brittle eggplant (Thai egg plant)
    Foreign eggplant (Tomato)

The last one is out of the left field, but hey, they are all in Solanaceae, so it's not really a big miss.

Thanks! So there is taro, purple sweet potato, black berries (frozen,) grapes, rose apples, red cabbages, and red onions.

    One of those!

I am hoping if I keep working hard enough, I can do this. I need to do this. Giving up isn't really an option on school. But I so want to be done. I am a bit over the "Weekends are for sitting at my desk studying 14 + hours

    You can do this!

(Spoken by a man who spent 25 years in school... and now is still technically in one-- as a professor).

    You really can do this!!
