  1. I know exactly how you feel. I've gotten too heavy and out of shape to do the things I love to do and I miss them. But here we both are taking the first of many steps back to what gives us joy.
  2. Try the Couch to 5k program, also known as C25k. It's worked for me in the past. Good luck on the 5k!
  3. I joined about a month ago but a family emergency dragged me away from computers and everything. Now that things are back to normal-ish, I'm catching up on all of the getting started quests where I discovered this forum. So, I'm saying hello. I'm a lot older than most of you and the last 5 years have seen my fitness drop to near zero while my weight increased to being dangerously high. I'm here trying to reverse the trend. I love hiking, walking outdoors (treadmills bore me), biking, rock climbing when I'm not so heavy it injures my hands, and I also swim. I did a print triathlon several years ago and I would love to be in shape to do more by next summer. For this summer, I want to get back into hiking and enjoying the outdoors. I haven't chosen a guild yet, so I'm still just a Rebel. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and getting fit.
