  1. As far as the internet goes, I've always been more of an observer than a participant going back to the mid-90s. I am hoping that this community will help me get started with NF. I'm starting NF tomorrow AM (4-1-19). I lost over 100# about 5 years ago with better eating and walking. However, since my wife's passing about 1.5 years ago, I have put 40-50 of that back on to my frame. As a widower with 6 teenage children (19yo triplets, 17yo singleton, 15 yo twins), I need to find the energy and motivation again to get healthy and be around for their adulthood and future grandchildren. I'm only in my mid-40s now so I have a long time to go. Goals: (1) Lose about 50#; get to around 200# to start....will redefine goal at that point (2) Increase cardio fitness enough to run with my son on the XC course (I wont be able to keep up, but maybe I can pace him for some slower training runs). (3) To actually, for once in my life, be happy with how my body looks and performs Methods: (1) Intermittent Fasting: I follow something close to this already just do to work and kid scheduling. I am going to make this more a rule than happenstance and establish strict hours for nutrition. Starting with 16:8 regimen but think a 18:6 or 20:4 will be my goal after transition (2) Eat better. I've simply gotten lazy since my wife's death. Eating lots of frozen, throw together quick meals. Lots of junk food, not candy, but crap none-the-less. Dusted off the instapot tonight and looking for good recipes. (3) Exercise: I have definitely lost my wind. starting out with walking or slow swimming at the Y tomorrow. Nf body weight circuit (though I know the results as far as reps will suck for a couple weeks). No interest in lots of weights right now. Just want to get some baseline fitness established then consider a more complex regimen in 30-45 days. If you have read this far, thank you. Good luck to you on your own quest and journey Long live the fighters & the Enemy's gate is down FP
