  1. Jul. 1st 6x6 each side Overhead KB press (16kg) 3x10 dumbbell reverse straight arm fly (3kg) Tried OP with 24kg bell... nope. 8kg increments won't work here.
  2. Jun. 29th 6x6 each side Overhead KB press (16kg) 3x10 dumbbell reverse straight arm fly (3kg)
  3. Jun. 27th Catching up on yesterday's exercises: 6x5 each side Overhead KB press (16kg) 1x10 dumbbell reverse straight arm fly (3kg) 2x10 dumbbell reverse straight arm fly (2kg) Tried 3kg dumbbells but I barely did the first set and got to fall back to 2kg. BTW - all the training is done absolutely-not-explosively. I want to keep muscles under tension as long as I can so using weights' inertia would be cheating myself. I try to do every move slowly up and down so I can use both concentric and eccentric part of the move.
  4. Yeah, in our climate extreme heat often leads to extreme weather - thunderstorms, hail, tornadoes, hurricane winds etc. It has something to do with cumulonimbus clouds but I don't know the precise science about it - in this part of the globe it's normal getting hail in the summer. Hail. Most times - pea sized or smaller. Not spiky ice tennis balls... I managed to patch the roof up. For now we wait for someone from local authorities to check on our roof damage - we have a chance for some compensation from social department. After that I will be looking for a professional to take our roof apart and put on new one. It already needed replacement even without this damage, but we planned it for next year.
  5. Right. Hailstorm just brought those. And fucked my roof up About 40-50 holes, sizing from one to about four inches. ... Crap.
  6. Jun. 24th I need to or else I'll But anyway, in front of fan blowing on max: 6x5 each side Overhead KB press (16kg) 3x10 dumbbell reverse straight arm fly (2kg)
  7. Jun. 22nd S&S Simple goal (timed 32kg). Exercising during 30+ deg. C heatwave is no fun at all...
  8. African heat hit Europe, so for couple days already we have 30-ish Celsius temperatures. Forecasts say this heatwave will be here for couple next days as well. Wife got an idea and we went to nearby lake and rented two kayaks. Each od us took one kid and we paddled for an hour. This is quite a workout for the shoulders. I think I like kayaking
  9. Jun. 17th Nothing today. I will take couple days extra rest as all the fatigue adds up and on top of it - yesterday I had second dose of Covid vaccine. Maybe I'll go easy on myself for reminder of this week?
  10. What technique you use for bars? I found last one (swinging) the most energy efficient for me - but I have arms like a baboon, which helps a lot with reach distance.
  11. Jun. 15th 5 slow pullups 6x10 banded lateral raises each side 5 slow pullups plus a ton of stretching/mobility done now and then to show my wannabe-sore muscles who's the boss
  12. Oh, I get it. But to be honest, on forearms I had visible veins even when I was chubby. It's in the genes obviously.
  13. It was 28/30 on my run. 15-obstacle-one was Family run What's about the veins? Is it some fashion/fetish of sorts?
  14. RAWR! Done my second individual OCR ✌️ and second "Family run" as well. I guess doing 6+2km and 30 + 15 obstacles counts as a training, right ? I'm happy as a clam because on my individual run I failed on only two obstacles (involving ball grips), and most obstacles I did on first try. Total time was 1h32m - about 10 minutes longer than last year. I guess mostly because I didn't run at all for the last year and many sections I just walked. Secondly, before more challenging obstacles I took extra time before the attempt just to be sure I won't run out of steam mid-obstacle. And, as you always can blame weather, I think scorching sun could impact my time in some way. Anyway, I'm super happy of my technique and strength while don't care much about my time. It was lots of fun. With capital "F", capital "U" and capital "N"
  15. Ouch. From the stuff I just checked about ITBS it looks like serious stuff. IMO way more serious like loading 3K kcal and not burning it. With such surplus you can always deal after a while, but knee issues I think have the first priority. Strengthening hip abductors should help (or so I read). Hope you can deal with this without need of more... invasive medical measures.
  16. Dehydration? No, I don't think so. I drink... lots. I'll just go an easy route and blame it on weather. You can always blame the weather Annnd maybe my age...? People over 40 start to decompose, so it might be also a reason Anyway, I need to get my shit straight... Tomorrow is OCR day!
  17. Jun. 10th For some reason my head decided to f*ck me over today. I have such crippling headache even walking is challenging... But I will not surrender to this bowl of overcooked spaghetti! I found some stuff I can do without even standing up 6 x 10 banded Lateral Raises (both sides) 2 x 1min active hang
  18. It takes bit longer, but I can squeeze it in 20-25 minutes. It works mostly upper back with bit of lumbar area and shoulders. For now I find it challenging, especially shrugs and overhead press. Jun. 8th Busy again... S&S 32kg in the garden
  19. Jun. 5th 3 x in circuit: 4 x pull-up + 4 x assisted pull-up 8 x band lat pull-down (straight arm) 8 x KB shrug (40kg one hand, 32kg the other - switching sides set to set) 8 x band Zeus row 8 x band face pull 8 x KB deadlift (40kg) 8 x per side KB overhead press (16kg)
  20. It's quite complicated because several different things overlap considering my weight. But it's not the case actually. I guess it boils down to deciding what is more important for me - being lean af or donating blood without staff making problems. Anyway - I thought about my training lately and decided to make changes. Jun. 3rd Upper body focused resistance band/kettlebell combo (test drive): 8 x assisted pull-up 8 x band lat pull-down (straight arm) 8 x KB shrug (40kg one hand, 32kg the other - switching sides set to set) 8 x band Zeus row 8 x band face pull 8 x KB deadlift (40kg) 8 x per side KB overhead press (16kg) all the above in circuit, 3 times
  21. Don't know actually. I guess they check height to weight ratio, BMI or something along this way.
  22. Jun. 1st 15 min 10x5 body rows 5x10 push-ups
