  1. Good job!!! It's awesome you worked the mini challenge in as well I bet there is a lot to see in Nashville! Funny, when I am on a long trip, a special treat is ice Coke! Good job on the math problems also.
  2. Thanks for the comments! It really does help! The end of the week update ( from Sat) 1. Met my exercise goal- A 2. Eating well- did great- 80-90 % Paleo. A 3. No more than 3 glasses of wine a week. - Nope- Did not meet this goal at all. F. Ugggg.... disturbing news at work...a little more stress....had a few glasses most days.

  4. Happy 4th of July for those celebrating! I'm doing well on my goals so far. Exercise: Sat, Sun, Tuesday ( 40 minutes- moderate intensity- perceived effort 7-8) Some general stretching ( need more focus on this) Eating: 80 % Paleo.Had one "cheat". Interesting story. Went out to dinner with my husband for our anniversary. Passed on the bread, croutons and cheese. Asked for my steak cooked in 'no butter', plain sweet potato, grilled asparagus. Divided my meal and took 1/2 home. Had a glass of very nice red wine. Had planned to split a dessert ( as my cheat) So...my husband wanted a gooey chocolate brownie...topped with ice cream, chocolate sauce etc. I really wanted either carrot cake or key lime pie. The helpful waiter said he could put it all on a sample plate. Ok...sounded good. Well, there was a mix up in the kitchen, and instead we were given: 1. The chocolate gooey mess that my husband wanted. 2. An entire piece of carrot cake. 3. An entire piece of key lime pie. 4. An entire piece of cheesecake with raspberry sauce. 5. Another small portion of chocolate gooey. 6. Another portion of chocolate gooey in a "to go" box I mean, really??? My head was spinning, and my blood sugar sky-rocked just by looking at it all. The actual damage: I ate 2/3 of the carrot cake, one delectable bite of the key lime pie, a few bites of the brownie, and all the the whipped cream that was on top of it. Oh...and another glass of wine to help wash it down with! The dessert to go container will most likely go in the trash, sadly. Ate extra clean yesterday, so feeling pretty good! Had my 3 glasses of wine already this week, so can't have any more til Sat!
  5. Welcome back!! I recently joined and started a few weeks late also, so I'm glad I'm not the only one! Sounds like some solid goals that will help improve your health on lots of levels! How do you like primal eating? I started paleo and find it pretty easy and enjoyable. Happy 4th!

  9. Yes, welcome!! I just started Paleo also- about a week ago. I love it. My husband won't eat it though! We work different schedules, and if it isn't fast food, he won't eat. ( yuck!!) But I feel better too! I spent about 1/1/2 hrs in the kitchen this afternoon, but have most of a week's worth of food ready.... roasted veggies ( so easy and yummy), kale chips, cut up veggies, fruit, chicken low, low fat hamburgers and some steak. Very easy and uncomplicated! Look forward to following your progress! Sure hope the wildfires get managed soon. My daughter lives in Denver, and she's been worried about the impact to to everyone....stay safe!
