  1. Thanks for this! Some good stuff on here! I went with the fist tonight, which is how we used to do it in the Dojo, anyway. It was a bit tougher without the mats!! So, tonight's workout was not so great. You ever have one of those workouts that just can't get right? I don't know if it was because it was late, or because of how bleedin' hot it is... but things just fell apart. I worked until I really couldn't get any more in, but it was only about 3/4 of my total sets. What a downer. My breaks were longer, my counts were lesser... just no good all around. I hardly feel like I deserve this almost yummy protein shake. Diet wise, we are all good. I am drinking a bit of the ol' cow milk, instead of good ol' coconut, but it's because I'm travelling. I should get thinks back on track. Apples with hazelnut spread, and eggs and spinach for breakfast, a kafteti with carrots for lunch, and pork chops and snap beans for dinner. My book is great. Very interesting from both a historical and an anthropological view. There are a LOT of characters. It's like I am reading a season of Voltron. Not the one with the lions. The one with all the automobiles. Range on!
  2. AWESOME! Remember, if you can only do one... that counts as the first one! And that means there's more to come!
  3. Ranger Reporting! Good workout last night, pushed in some extra reps on my rows and squats- and I made sure to do the full workout this time. Diet is right on track! Aside from a protein boost, and just a touch of cheese every rare once in a while, all is good there! My left wrist is a bit sore. I don't know what is causing it, but I can't really do pushups with my hand flat on the floor (or ball.) What I am having to do is tilt my hand off the floor, so that only my fingers, the last section of my thumb, and the part of the hand just where the fingers meet- are the only parts on the floor. This sort of straightens my wrist out. Anyone know of any reason not to continue this way? My book is really cool, it's good to be back into reading! Range on!
  4. Ranger Reporting! Yesterday, I did not get to start my running because of rain. I know, I know... that's hardly an excuse to Rangers, but I'm still a bit uncertain on bare feet. Diet-wise, we're all good. Shake at breakfast, shrimp and veggies at lunch, steak and shrimp for dinner. Nuts and fruits for small snacks! Oh! And I just started The Killer Angels! It looks to be a cool read. Range on!
  5. I suppose I'm not really certain how to describe "where I am." Do you mean with the splits, or just general flexibility? I am really hoping to increase my flexibility throughout, it's just that "the splits" seemed like a definable measuring point for the purposes of the challenge. Perhaps if you gave me some guideline or tests, I could get back to you with some results? thank you so much for your feedback!
  6. Greetings Druids, I am a ranger that needs to focus a bit on flexibility for the current challenge. There are TONS of flexibility programs, or stretching plans to be found on the internet, but I wanted to get some input from people in the Rebellion. I would say that I have average, or slightly better than average flexibility for a person that does not do yoga or stretching regularly. Does anyone have a recommendation for a program they like, or even just any tips, or things to consider as I get moving? The "official" goal is to be able to manage a split in that timeline, but the less concrete goal is just to be able to be in better command of my body and increase its abilities. Thank you for any advice you can offer!
  7. Dude. That new pic is killer. Kill-er! Glad to have you back with the Rangers again! Good to be on your team! I really dig on your goal of picking up other guilds mini's, I was looking to do that too! Range on!
  8. Ranger Reporting! Today I started off with a shake for breakfast, using Almond milk to keep it within my Paleo guidelines. I have had a couple of handfuls of mixed nuts (no peanuts) and a cup of Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries as snacks. Lunch was 2 eggs with bacon and mushrooms. (with just a tiny bit of cheese... but hey, the goal is 90% paleo... lay off my cheese) Just had a protein shake after workout, and I'll grab something light for a late dinner. Workout was as follows: 3x4 chin ups, with the 4th and 5th chins as 10 count negatives 3x6 lever pushups off of each arm (still working towards the one arm!) 3x10 hanging leg-raises (straight leg) 3x12 uneven squats off each leg 3x10 inverted rows 3x12 chair dips with my feet elevated by a basketball I should have done another round of core/legs, but I have gotten a bit out of practice over these past few weeks... Range on!
  9. To all of those that would like to make a recommendation, I'd love to hear it! Thanks!
  10. Welcome to the Rangers! It seems like you've got a great plan set up, just stick on it through the tough spots, and you'll be all set. Grad school can be tough. I had a bit of trouble, but just make sure you stay on top of things as they come at you, and you'll do fine! (This is advice from a Professor, so you KNOW it's good!) It's rock and roll time.
  11. Welcome to the Rangers! Great goals: "I enjoy being able to move around my body." Me too, and that's a great way of saying it. Cool goals, but don't get so caught up in just what your total count is that you forget to set up habits. Good fitness habits really make it all come together, and really help to keep you aiming to goals even after the challenge is over! This is great, I look forward to seeing your counts coming in!
  12. Welcome to the Rangers, Hobo! Good to have you on our squad! Great goals. Basic, but very strong choices! Rock on
  13. I love these ADVENTURE goals! Good for you! I wish I had included something like that in my challenge! Rock and roll this!
  14. I honestly just clicked here 'cause of your name! Glad to have you on the Rangers! Your goals sound great, but don't just "give paleo a shot!" You gotta jump right into it and swim around! It is so awesome, and there are some killer recipe sites like fastpaleo.com that will open up tons of possibilities! You're the Pan, now!
  15. Hey there Wicked! Glad to have you back on the ranger team! Good looking run there! Good luck on that Whole 30, i know you'll tear it up! (and feel so awesome!)
