  1. Baby steps. I'm going to focus most of my goals on changing my diet first, with three days a week of the basic body weight workout, I think. Unfortunately, I have to wait until the 7th to buy new food, so until then, I'll be watching my portions and avoiding unhealthy snacking.
  2. Hey all! I flirted with NF last June, but ended up fading away from it. This was after losing some pounds on Weight Watchers. Well... guess who's got two thumbs and gained it back?! *THIS GIRL* I really want to stick with the challenges this time. This website and its awesome community really inspires me! Please help this lazy college senior while she gets off her butt!! Love, Emily (AKA GingerWarrior)
  3. I'm going to add you all, too! (erklein290)
  4. This also makes me feel strangely uncomfortable... lol I remember when RGU first got big in anime circles... Although, I've heard people say: "Tenchi Muyo? What's that?!" This is far more disturbing to me lol It was even on "normal" TV!! EDIT: KIBCY!! You're older than I am!! WHY YOU NO KNOW UTENA???
  5. "Anime" is a term that the Japanese would use for ALL animation, not just Japanese animation, even though the West has changed its meaning. And many anime nerds refer to Avatar as an anime because of its similarities. Just check out all the Avatar fanart among the "real" anime fanart at cons. ALSO, WIKIPEDIA AGREES WITH ME. "In Japan, the term anime does not specify an animation's nation of origin or style; instead, it serves as a blanket term to refer to all forms of animation from around the world.[17][18] English-language dictionaries define anime as "a Japanese style of motion-picture animation" or as "a style of animation developed in Japan".[19][20] Non-Japanese works that borrow stylization from anime are commonly referred to as "anime-influenced animation" but it is not unusual for a viewer who does not know the country of origin of such material to refer to it as simply "anime". Some works result from co-productions with non-Japanese companies, such as most of the traditionally animated Rankin/Bass works, the Cartoon Network and Production I.G series IGPX or Ōban Star-Racers; different viewers may or may not consider these anime." ALSO... WIKIPEDIA AGREES WITH ME.
  6. That's good to know, actually. Once I get my hands on it, I'll stick through it if it bothers me. That can sometimes be my downfall lol For instance, I hated Gintama's first episode, so I haven't been able to convince myself to keep watching. Apparently some people call it "anime crack", though. So I may try again...
  7. You sound awesome, Blondie! And your goals are awesome, too! =) We'll all be happy to have you here. Everyone is very supportive and extremely nice! I'm new here, too, so hopefully we can keep an eye out for each other.
  8. Well, you know what they say. Different strokes for different folks, and all that =D
  9. I figured Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc were pretty much a given. Also, I loved these anime as a child, but can't really stomach them any more. So it would be difficult to figure out where I'd put them (nostalgia goggles vs. current feelings). I've heard good things about Eureka 7, so I'll put that on my to-do list. And oh yes, I meh'd FLCL. And there is no argument that could change my mind lol many have tried, and none shall succeed =P
  10. I'm surprised that no one here has brought up the fact that FFXIII is basically an interactive movie... Or maybe I'm the only one that thought this? I felt like there was no challenge to it at all... unless of course you count trying to keep yourself from destroying your television set with your controller every time Snow opened his mouth to speak. ............Maybe just me again?
  11. As an added thing, I forget where I heard this from, but apparently one usually loses where they last gained first and where they first gained last. This could just be an old wives' tale, but it seems to be true for me.
  12. I second this! And the story is totally worth the possible suspension of disbelief.
  13. I've actually seen a lot of these anime series. I was looking for more recent releases, if I can get any recommendations. Anime I Have Loved: Fullmetal Alchemist (and Brotherhood), Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Fushigi Yuugi, Ouran High School Host Club, Black Butler, Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon (and R and S and Super S), Slayers (and Next and Try), Trigun, Noir, Fruits Basket, Chobits, Azumanga Daioh, One Piece, Cardcaptor Sakura, Witch Hunter Robin, Soul Eater, Tsubasa, Saiyuki, Angelic Layer, Avatar: Last Airbender Anime I Have Liked: Elfen Lied, Air, InuYasha, Claymore, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Excel Saga, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Code Geass, Full Metal Panic!, Orphen, Love Hina, Baccano!, Ah! My Goddess, Mohoromatic Anime I Have Meh'd: Naruto, Bleach, Ceres, FLCL, Golden Boy Anime I May or May Not Want to Kill With Fire: Black Butler II, Loveless Hopefully this helps. After typing this all out, I feel like a tool. But I spent a while typing it all up, sooooo... if anyone would like to write a similar list in reply, I would not object. Anime circlejerks are fun, anyway =P
