  1. Hey, How's it going? I weighed my self and I've lost 3 lbs, putting me somewhere between 181-182 lbs. I have been doing roughly 50 push ups/sit ups throughout the day today and yesterday, just easing into it 10 here and 10 there, I think my first goal will be to get down to 160lbs just so i have something to work towards. Have a good day/night all.
  2. Hi all, Didn't post yesterday because i wasn't feeling well, I've hurt my back not sure how but never mind ill rest a few days. Yesterday and today I ate pretty good around 1800 kcals and did some walking which is good, even though i had that one day where i ate like a pig I do think i will have lost some weight. I really need to bring some exercise in to my life that isn't walking i just find it hard to keep doing it. Have a good day/night all
  3. Hi thank you for your reply it means a lot, I think i am struggling with my reason why to be honest, I have reasons, they just aren't pushing me enough. Hi guys, Today I ate pretty well around 1600 kcals or a little less, I'd of liked to have been closer to 1800 but never mind it's better than yesterday that's for sure, I did some walking today which is fine but i don't feel it does anything because im so used to walking anyway. I need to do a little more in terms of exercise not for body composition but for strength, stamina and better mood Have a good day all.
  4. Hi guys, Today was awful for me I've been very negative towards my self thinking "what's the point ?" and things such as "this is gonna take forever" so yeah... Day 2 of my log and i'm already throwing a wobbly, I posted here today just because i want to build the habit but all in all it's been an awful day. I've walked about 2 miles and ate roughly 4.5k calories of absolute crap, I don't know why i just binge eat some times probably twice a week where i can consume up to 6k calories which is ridiculous. On to the next i suppose.
  5. So today I have been doing squats through out the day in sets of 5 (I'm weak btw) in a "Greasing the Groove" style, I have tried this before with some success and i decided to ease into some training with this. I also had the biggest shock of my life today when i followed a beginner yoga video on youtube, I did it with the expectation of it being a bit easy and I must say i'm absolutely humbled never in my life did i think it would be as challenging as it was, I felt good throughout but i could feel "the burn" in my arms when doing a position (Something dog?). Food wise I've done OK i suppose Porridge oats for breakfast, Ham sandwich with an apple for lunch, pork with carrots and potatoes for dinner. I had a green tea for the first time ever and if i'm honest it tastes no different to regular tea to me which is a bonus
  6. Hi guys, Complete noob here in just about everything health and fitness so please bare with me on this never ending journey . I have never really been "active", the easy way has always been the way for me. So many times before I have decided to try and get my sh*t together and every time i have been unsuccessful, this log will be a place for me to keep track of what i'm doing and hopefully spur me on to continue. My goal is to become better in tune with my body and to create a healthier body, I don't have any specific goals in terms of physique, weight, sport etc, I will post as often as i can and hopefully i will have done something towards my goal of being healthier inside and out. height/beginning weight: 5 ft 9 13 st 2 lb (roughly 83.8 kg, 184.8 lbs) Current weight: 181.5 lbs Goal weight: 160 lbs
  7. Hi Defining, Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to reply to me The links are a great addition to your support, it really shows how much of a supportive person you are going through the trouble to post such a detailed response with specific links, infact ever reply thus far has been exceptional and it really shows how mature and kind people here really are. I am going to create a recommended reading list file to help me on the journey i have begun and those links will go right at the top, If i can read one a night i'll be happy . I plan on beginning my exercise tomorrow with something so small i barely notice it, I will make it a goal to exercise any way i want to even if it is walking mon-fri for 5 minutes just to create some sort of habit, is it advisable to schedule it for a certain time or is anytime of day fine? Once again thank you
  8. Hi guys thanks for the replies, Greasing the groove is something i have actually done before, when i was in school i would hit the floor and do 10 sit ups every time an advertisement would come on the T.V in hopes of gaining a 6 pack (not realising it had every thing to do with diet rather than core exercises xD) of course this is a bit harder nower days with so many apps that allow us to watch series/episodes whatever without the adverts, I could deffo fit it in around my gaming and i will try to do so, you said to pick a few exercises to use and the next day pick another 3-4, how would i ensure i am working my whole body instead of favouring a certain area? or is this not important at the moment compared to just doing some exercises. Hi Harriet, Thank you for taking time out of your day to respond to me it means a lot , in regards to the fatigue there is a lot of potential things causing it as you listed, I don't drink alcohol, i sleep roughly 7-9 hours a night (not sure how to measure quality, but i don't think it's terrible), i have over the past 3 years reduced my sugar intake a fair bit cutting it out from all drinks i do however have an addiction to biscuits (cookies, Oreos, Custard creams and so on) and chocolate, another food i tend to over eat is meat pies and pasties (such as cornish pasty), so food i guess is partly to blame. I consume A LOT of caffeine i am aware of this and am really struggling to drop it, I wouldn't even know where to start with allergies.
  9. Hi all, I don't know where to start really but i feel absolutely rubbish in my body, I'm 24 male I can't touch my toes, run 100 yards or do 10 push ups. Although general health and functionality is what I want, I also hate my body at 5 ft 9 13 stone and very little muscle i look like a chubby kid, I have tried time and time again to change it but I can't seem to stick to anything or i injure myself yada yada yada. Anyway a bit of information about my lifestyle: I usually eat complete junk but for the past 3 weeks I've eaten 3 healthy meals a day (resulted in 5lbs weight loss, go me :P) I love gaming... like a lot, due to work i only really get to play 3 hours a night or so :( I deliver heavy furniture all day for my job i wouldn't say i'm strong at all obviously, but I've adapted to work at least... I walk 2-6 miles daily (usually closer to 2) but can't even jog 100 yards as said previously. I sit down A LOT and once i am sat down it's hard for me to get up because i feel absolutely drained. I find it almost impossible to stick to anything and i'm unsure why, I really want to change my life and health but I mess up every time, I don't want to be super strong and I don't want to be an endurance athlete at this moment in time i just want to be kinda fit and less body conscious, Gym isn't really an option at the moment for at least a few months (I also don't want to make that commitment financially without knowing i will do it). If anyone can throw some advice or direct me where to start i'd be forever grateful. Thank you for listening to me go on, have a good day :D
