  1. Alright, Rebels, it's almost the end of challenge #3 and I have to tell you, this one has not gone well for me. Sure I could blame The Rona, but to be perfectly honest, I don't think it's been that. I think, as per usual, that I bit off more than I could chew goal wise. I don't think I kept it simple, (stupid). I have a plan for the next challenge, and it will be seriously pared down from this time. This only being my third challenge, I think I am seeing trends in my goal setting in general, which is helping me make more goals. Yay, data! Thank you guys so much,
  2. Oh my, it wasn't going well, although this week has taken an upswing! For the past two nights, I have been successfully doing my nightly routine and actually waking up "on time" without feeling groggy, not wanting to, etc. Tonight, I hope to do the same thing - draw a bath, turn on some soothing music, and do a proper wind-down so that my body knows it's time for sleep. I have been keeping track of my progress with colorful chart, but here is what I have noticed so far: (data, data, data) I love coloring in the chart. I will continue to use some version of thi
  3. Pre-Challenge Check In Well that was unexpected! Due to my personal scheduling as well as covid-19, I did NOT complete my 2nd challenge, so here I go, restating and rerunning my 2nd NF Challenge, with some tweaks. To all my fellow Rebels out there, we've got this! Here's to working out while social distancing and staying on track even though it feels like everything has gone off the rails. Quest: Ritualistic Goal - Establish a structured morning and nightly ritual! Nightly · ASAH (As Soon As Home) – pack for next day/chore/dinner ·
  4. Week 3 Well that was crazy!!! The past several weeks have been bananas. My schedule became very busy, doing things I enjoy doing, but then there was no more time left for Frosty’s goals! Without exception, each one of my goals went straight out the window! In addition, work threw me a curveball and has changed my responsibilities for next year. At the beginning of week 3, knowing I have three more weeks to make progress on these goals, I am re-committing to them. I am trying to practice “letting go” meaning, not dwelling on the past and plowing ahead to the fut
  5. Rookie - I am hearing you about the craziness and unfortunate events in 2020! What is up with that?! Stay strong and do your daily work, even when you don't feel like it. Habits are built through continuity!!!
  6. Pre-Challenge Check In Hello! I’m Frosty. I just completed my first challenge and now I am a Rebel. I love the ethos and energy of this community. Thank you all for creating such a warm, welcoming and wicked cool group. About me: I am a dance teacher at a K-12 school. Ever since I stopped taking dance classes for myself I have been struggling to find my next physical practice. My hope is that with the help of the NF community I can log my journey and stay accountable to myself in my discoveries. Hobbies: I enjoy reading, watching movies and TV. I love audiobooks b
  7. Week 4 in Review, Looking Ahead to Week 5 This past week was an improvement, even though I had to dig deep to make some physical goals happen. Here’s how I did! Quest: Show Me the Money -I have updated the budget for February and made the appropriate transfers. I am currently working on being more vigilant about payments on my credit card. For example, this time doing the budget, I realized I had not paid off the gas payments put on the credit card on our road tripl. I will now be making the appropriate adjustments to do that either this month or next. DATA DATA DATA!!!
  8. Week 3 in Review, Looking Ahead to Week 4 This past week was an improvement, even though I had to dig deep to make some physical goals happen. Here’s how I did! Quest: Show Me the Money -A this point, this is quest is where I am making the most headway. I am SO PROUD of myself. I don’t know why it took me such a long time to strap down these issues with my finances, but here I am and I’m making a difference in my personal budget! Yay!! -Successes: I have been tracking my flexible spending, groceries, gas, date nights, mad money, etc. to the cent in my budget spreadsheet. Each
  9. Check in – post week 1, middle of week 2 Week 1 went pretty good, week 2, not so much. I had some things come up at work that distracted me from my priorities, so I'm gonna try to get them back this week. Quest: Show me the money -I've kept to the budget! It's causing me so much less anxiety by keeping a log of everything. That's been great. I even have a scheduled time during the weekends when I check the budget. Quest: Let's Get Physical -Last week I was ok - I did each day except for 3. I think I overscheduled myself. I'm now going to try to workout 4/7 days instead of 7. More m
  10. Check in – Pre-challenge So, checking in before we begin. Quest: Show me the money -I already finalized the budget after our holiday trip today, so next week I will check on the monthly budget. 11. Greetings Mr. L, Congrats on setting these goals and good luck as you work towards them! Do you have a plan for what you will drink in place of your sodas?
  12. You are right! One of my other goals, but not for this challenge, is to see things through, even when I get to the stage of boredom. Thanks for pointing this out!!
  13. Harriet, Thanks! I like to switch it up a lot. I was doing a lot of rowing, but I'm trying to figure out my next thing. I like jumping rope, rowing, cycling, weightlifting. Right now I'm trying to focus on lifting weights. I also try to do a yoga class once a week. What about you?
  14. Greetings all. Frosty here and I'm joining the Rebellion! I am not new to fitness but I am new to Nerd Fitness. I've been reading through the website for the past few weeks and I love the ethos and energy of this community. Thank you all for creating such a warm, welcoming and wicked cool group. UPDATE (1/1/20): I forgot to tell you guys a little about myself!! About me: I am a dance teacher at a K-12 school. Ever since I stopped taking dance classes for myself I have been struggling to find my next physical practice. My hope is that with the help of the NF community I can log my journey
