  1. Okay, let me break down my issue a bit. First, I'm noticing that my daytime sleepiness is getting worse. I'm falling asleep (sometimes directly into dreaming) 3-4 times an hour, having to resort to ridiculous measures to stay awake on my 1 hour commute home. The result is that all my willpower is shot to hell on work days, and the only time I can find on my days off is to wake up really early, causing more sleep issues. I think I'm gonna redo my goals to focus on what I need right now.
  2. Well, I think my sleep issues and my depression issues and a few other personal mental issues have all collided in a perfect storm. Add to that a significant amount of underwear collecting, and serial program switching.
  3. This is not shaping up auspiciously.
  4. Main Quest: Deadlift my bodyweight. I’m going to get there by dropping my weight down a bit, then adding back in heavy training with a bodyweight of 350 or less. Current Goals: Clean up my diet. Eliminate all foods in the following list: Sugared beverages (Exception - Post workout Chocolate milk) Fast Food (Exception - as an actual meal with my wife it is OK) Vending Machines (No exceptions) Convenience Store Snacks (No exceptions)Work on flexibility and range of motion. Do the “Agile 8†and “Simple 6†once per day. Stand up at work every 15 minutes.5 Days/Week High-intensity weighted cardio. KB Swings, Complexes, and so on. Side Quest: Become a baseline decent human being. I’m really not right now, but I can be better. Motivation: I want to like the person I see in the mirror. (This is more than physical appearance.

  9. I mentioned my eventual STrongman/Highalnd games aspirations and she got all happy because she has been trying to get me in a kilt for a long time.
  10. My wife wants me to apologize to my warrior brethren as that was not an actual conversation. I paraphrased that from bits and pieces of conversations and some of it lost context. Back to actual questions. How high can you jump? Someone posted their vertical jump on another board as to be proof of why they can't power clean. Their vertical jump was like 14". Mine is somewhere between 4-8" Is this as spectacularly low as it sounds?
  11. FWIW: It could be cool to post recipes, too. My recipes are a bit... carbier than most of these, and less seasoned.
  12. WIfe: Why did you buy 7 dozen eggs? Me: Internets said must get protein. WIfe: Are these the same "Warriors" who spend huge amounts of time posting funny cat pictures? Me: ...
  13. My strength really has taken a beating. Slow and consistent is what I am trying now. I'm using the GSLP guidelines, so when I go over 10 reps on my final set, I increase 10 lb instead of 5. (Bench and press are both 2.5/5)
  14. That's 17 grams per day. Don't get me wrong, That's not a low dose, but the sheer volume is what is killing me.

  16. I just looked up what 300 grams of protein is. I seriously have not done the math on this before. Holy crap. Are you serious? That seems like an INSANE amount of food.... Like 3 pounds of meat.... or 50 eggs... or 5 whole milk whey protein shakes (16 oz, 2 scoops whey). Oh. I guess why they are so popular among strength trainers... And I need to find some way to prepare mass quantities of meat or eggs...
  17. I like my main quest of Deadlifting my body weight. Either I lose some weight, or I get my Deadlift over 425 lbs. I'm basically going back to what worked last fall, and Not worry about the details of my diet, except eliminating the big money and fitness killers for me. That is sugared beverages, fast food, convenience stores and vending machines. If I am maintaining my weight with all that crap, shouldn't going back to lifting consistently and cleaning up a bit result in a decent loss? I'm operating under the theory that 200ish pounds of adipose tissue counts as enough surplus calories to gain mass, if I Iift consistently and keep progressing. An d keep my protein intake up. This isn't crazy is it?
  18. If I was serious I would have posted in th other..
