I know this is an old thread but I tore (not pulled) my left lat deadlifting 1 week ago, diagnosed by top sports hospital in South Africa (4.2cm x 2.7cm) tear is near the insertion into my arm where the muscle becomes the tendon. Arm blue from tear. Apparently it is very uncommon to tear a lat, so much so I am being offered free scans to analyze the tear, go back Wednesday. Start hyperbaric treatment tomorrow, fingers crossed it helps. This was the first tear of this nature they had seen. Tearing a lat deadlifting has left me very insecure about the health of my body.
