  1. Alright, so I want to take some time to break down my goals so I know what I need to do to reach them! Complete session 35 of GMB's Elements program I'm basically on track here! At the moment I'm on session 23, and I've been doing 5 or 6 per week. That means I should be there in about 2.5 weeks. I intend to complete the program, session 35 was sort of an arbitrary goal. But as I'm really enjoying it, I'm not worried about stopping before the 20th! Read the Tablet of Ahmad each day until Ridvan Also doing pretty well here! Again, it's just a matter of doing it each day. I've been doing it after my meditation sessions, as hooking it onto an existing routine is really helpful. I suspect though that some kind of habit tracking or accountability will be helpful to keep it up until the 20th. In that case: Next step: look into options for habit tracking and accountability Complete application for teacher training To be honest, this is kind of out of my hands at the moment. I'm waiting to receive a form that I need for the application. I sent a reminder to the people responsible for that today, and they assured me they are working on it. I guess the thing I can do is as soon as I have the form, submit the application and then start bugging people to make sure if I've done it correctly! 😅 Invite 3 friends to a new study circle and get started This one is definitely the most challenging of my goals as well as the most personally important of them! I have 4 people in mind who I could invite. I think I really just need to keep the 20 seconds of courage in mind here. Fortunately the next step is clear: Next step: Invite these 4 friends to go on a walk (one at a time, to remain Corona safe) I'll try to complete my next steps by the end of the week!
  2. Hello! I'm new to the forums. This place looks great and very encouraging. I'm looking forward to getting to know the community and using some good old-fashioned gameification to level-up my life 😃
  3. This is my first NerdFitness challenge! I'd like to play with a fun little system for setting goals! That is, dividing them into one of 5 categories: Earth - body-related goals: fitness, nutrition, sleep, etc. Water - mind-related goals: studying, concentration or mindfulness meditation, etc. Fire - creativity-related goals: music, art, etc. Air - spiritual goals: prayer, reading scripture, meditating on scripture, reflecting on goals, etc. Aether - community- and service-related goals: family, friends, faith-community, neighbors, work, etc. I don't intend to have a goal for each category for every challenge, but ideally I'd always include a goal for aether, as it's the category that transcends my own self-interest and provides context for everything else. My goals for March 20. Earth - Complete session 35 of GMB's Elements program Air - Read the Tablet of Ahmad each day until Ridvan (Ridvan is an important Baha'i Holy Day, and happens to fall perfectly on March 20th, and the Tablet of Ahmad is an important prayer revealed by the founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah) Water - complete application for teacher training Aether - invite 3 friends to a new study circle and get started (tutoring with a friend) Sorry for the unfamiliar Baha'i jargon! But a lot of my goals revolve around my faith, so it's a bit unavoidable. I'll try to work on being a bit more creative describing my challenges 😅 Perhaps that can be a goal for next time!
