  1. I finished 2023 with 570.38 miles. On my way to Lothlorien as well.
  2. Yesterday went well. My friend and I just sat and talked and it was really a nice time. She recently went through pretty much a break up and she didn't fully share everything emotionally, which is okay. I know she's going through a lot and learning how to trust people again. I'm hoping I can be there for her, even with her being so far away with school soon. As she was talking about everything it brought up a lot of unresolved emotions that I have from previous relationships, so now that's something I think I need to work on..... Spent the evening and overnight at my parents', so that was fun. Watched a football game and made progress on a cross stitch that I've been working on, and hope to have finished soon so I can get it mailed out. Hit my water goal, but no workout and did nothing for my skin... Today has been going well. We got dumped on with snow and now all my trees look pretty, but I don't want to drive anywhere. Coming home from my parents' was a bit rough on the back roads cause some of them haven't been plowed yet.... Water goal is getting there today. It's been a struggle. Forgot to get the milk we needed while I was out this morning, so now it'll probably wait till Thursday.... Counting hauling wood as my workout today! It's heavier than it looks. 😅 Thatch's day seems to be getting a little better:
  3. The weekend was good. We had a potluck at church yesterday and it was nice to be able to get to know a new friend I just met. A mutual friend connected us since she just moved near me, and I'm hoping that we can get to know each other a bit more. Today is going well. A friend is coming over before she has to head back to college, but she's never seen my house before and I'm a tad nervous since it's still a bit of a storage mess upstairs. Kinda hoping she just wants to visit and doesn't ask to see the mess that is upstairs. lol. Was up earlier than normal (what even is normal anymore???) and feeling pretty good. Remembered my water pretty early this morning, but my tea went cold and I just wasn't feeling cold tea this morning, so BabyG got a little since she was up waaaaaayyyy before she normally is. 😴 Thankful for nap time....and that that's at least at a normal time today. Hoping to workout soon. Introduction to Thatch:
  4. Week One recap: It was a good week overall. Workout - 6/6 > Happy about this and hoping that this continues into the rest of the year Water - 5/7 > Not super bummed about this result. Honestly, it's better than I expected, so yay! Wash - 4/7 > Considering I didn't have most of what I wanted for my face routine, I think this went pretty well. Hoping to get things from my parents' tonight so I'll have it when I need it. ------------------- Weekly points: 20 Total: 20
  5. Yesterday was good. I didn't do a whole lot other than shopping and cleaning up the house a bit. D and I spent some time together in the evening and that was enjoyable. Today has been good. Walked over 2 miles with a friend today, but was heavily reminded why I choose to avoid malls in general, but especially on the weekends! The "twins" had fun together though, so that was nice. (I say twins, cause BabyG and my friend's baby are about two weeks apart and look like they could be twins. It's pretty fun!) Water hasn't been going great yesterday and today, but I'm at least getting some in me. Ready for a new week and I think I need a chiropractor appointment. Last of Tak's adventures for a bit (playing a new character Monday, and the weekend is combined like most tear away desk calendars.)
  6. I totally understand this! It can make it a bit overwhelming, but I chose to leave the decluttering till after the move. So now it's all in nice compact boxes and I just have to work on one at a time. lol. Kinda wish I had gone through it before we moved, but I was where you are with the pressure and anxiety, etc. Hope all goes well with that!
  7. Thank you! I hope that someone can get something sorted out. It's been feeling a lot like doing their job for them. For sure! I'm glad she likes to be outside. Seems like not many kids like that anymore nowdays. --------------- Yesterday went pretty well. Got like 3 pushups in.... My muscles were a bit tight. I don't think I stretched them right after doing the pushups the couple days before.... Got all my water in though! Got my face nice and moisturized. Realized I've been neglecting my hands on that front though. Going to start using lotion more frequently and hoping that helps. It seems to have done it's job last night. BabyG and I went shopping this morning. It was oddly empty today. We went earlier than we normally do though, so maybe that was part of it. Was supposed to have a friend over today, but she wasn't able to make it. We're going to try again for tomorrow though, so I'm hoping that works out. Tak's day isn't going so well... 😅
  8. Yesterday was good, but evenings have been a bit rough mentally this week. 😕 I had to call the hospital billing department about a bill that I've been trying to get figured out between them and insurance (that was fully covered back in December of '22) for not quite 2 years now.... Needless to say, I'm beyond irritated that it's taking this long to get worked out, especially when I thought it was taken care of a little over a year ago.... 😒 Goals went mostly good yesterday. Barely got all my water in, but I did it! Didn't do things for my skin stuff cause I decided to go to bed early and push my shower to today instead... Now that I think about it though, I'm not sure I have a sugar scrub....so it wouldn't have mattered anyways.... 🤷‍♀️ ah well... Got some squats in! Did it during BabyG's nap time, so no weighted squats. lol. Today is going well. Spent a little time outside, even though I don't like being out in the cold. BabyG enjoyed it though, so I'm glad we went out. Feeling pretty good for being up earlier than normal. Might hit me hard tonight though..... Short Tak adventure today:
  9. For sure! I've never actually played DnD, and have only ever built an RPG character once, so we'll see how it goes. 😅 ------------ Yesterday went well. Hit all my goals again! Feeling pretty good about how things are going this year, but also know it's just the first few days and things tend to go haywire a little ways in. Got some pushups in. BabyG made sure that some of them had a bit of weight to them by climbing on my back. Couldn't find my cleansing face mask though, so didn't get that done. Hopefully I'll have it found before next week. Just realized that I also need to get some things I've left at my parents', so just gonna skip them this week. BabyG and I went to the library this morning for storytime. This was the first one they've had this year (and the first one since we switched libraries). It was fun, and I think BabyG enjoyed it. Hoping to go again sometime this month. I think it's good for both of us. She gets to interact with other kids and it gets us both out of the house. More adventures withTak:
  10. Yesterday went very well for goals. I got some squats in and even exceeded my water goal!!! We went over to my parents' to watch a football game and had a bunch of snacky food. It all tasted good, but after the holidays I'm ready to get back to some healthier options. Today is laundry day and I decided it would be good to wash things that don't get washed super frequently.
  11. Last night was a bit of a rough night sleep wise. Pushing through today, but not really feeling the motivation for anything. Have about half my goal of water in so far and hoping to workout soon. I think I figured out what I'd like to do face wise, so now it's just getting what I need for that and actually staying on top of the routine. Also, I'm doing a quest calendar this year (it's an RPG style tear away calendar). Sharing how today went in small story form. {Very beginner writer here, so it might be a bit rough sometimes....😅} ~ In spoiler for length
  12. This sounds like a reasonable idea. I may consider this as well, considering how this year went for reading for me. 😅
  13. Have my first goals set for the year and ready to set that good foundation!
  14. This past year my goals didn't go super well, so this year I'm starting fresh and setting some good foundations instead of trying to tackle everything head on. I will have my big goals for this year, but trying to plan them out better so maybe I'll do better than I did last year. Big Goals: Finish Unpacking - we moved at the end of the year, so I'd like to finish getting through all the boxes before the end of this year if I can Finish putting BabyG's room together Make sure the new bed is stable Put mattress on new bed Set up extra bed Move said extra bed to guest room when possible Sort through the boxes in the spare room Put things away as they come out of the bins Make a donate pile Pack up donate pile Bring to donation spot Make a throw out pile Get rid of throw out pile Clean spare room Sort through boxes in bedroom Put things away as they come out of the bins Make a donate pile Pack up donate pile Bring to donation spot Make a throw out pile Get rid of throw out pile Read at least 3 books - last year my goal was 5 and that didn't happen (unless you count baby board books. lol) Decided to lower the number and hope that I'll just blow past it Finish listening to Unbroken Workout regularly - This could be anything from doing an actual set workout to just picking an exercise or doing physical work outside. Just something to keep me moving Be consistent with water and vitamins - Haven't been great at this recently, but I'm working on it. Start a log to keep track of what I need to take and when Start a water log Eat less sugar - This is a household goal, so I'm happy that I'm not alone in this! After we purge the rest of the sugar from the house, this will be a lot easier. Purge sugar from house Limit sweets intake when I do have sugar ----------------------------
  15. This is a placeholder for now. Will be back to edit in more details. Excited to start the new year with some basic goals and starting a good foundation with good habits! ------------- Alrighty, now that I'm not on a movie intermission.... First goals for the year are going to be simple stepping stones into what I hope will become good habits. Welcoming in the new year with some W's (Only the last one was intentional, but we'll pretend it was all on purpose...) Now to the goals: 1. Workout > I'd like to set a good habit this year of working out frequently instead of intermittently. I've noticed that I feel better in general when I'm working out, and eventually I'd like to put together my own workout routine, but for now I'm going to use some basic workouts/exercises that I'll be pulling from Darbee. I might also be pulling in some yoga every so often or on some full days might just be getting in a stretch or something small. 2. Water > I think part of it was the business of the holidays, but I've really been noticing a lack in staying hydrated. I'd love to start this year off with a good habit of getting enough water every day. My current goal will be roughly 8 cups of water each day. 3. Wash > I'm really hoping this year to take better care of my skin. Not that I've been terrible about it, but my focus has mainly been on keeping a tiny human alive recently. My goal this challenge will be to find a face & skin care routine and to stick with it. ------------------------------------- That's it for now! Hope y'all have a wonderful new year!
  16. Update for the end of the year: The past couple years have been filled with so many firsts for me, it's been crazy! I'm hoping this year slows down a bit, but also looking to still make improvements to my overall well-being. Big Goals: Finish Bible Reading - Last year I set a goal to read through the entirety of the Bible. Didn't finish, so I'm setting a goal to finish that goal > My plan is to read in the mornings when BabyG is sleeping. So.....This hasn't been going like I would have hoped. Mainly because of not making the time, and getting up with BabyG instead of before her. Will revisit this goal later. Read at least 5 books - My plan with this one is to read a little every day. I would love to exceed this goal, but we'll see what happens. Finished 2 books. Started a whole bunch though. 😅 Find a house - Would love for 2023 to be the year that D and I can get our own place. > Not a huge gameplan here. Just continuing to look and see what pops up. We found a house!!!! And we've moved in! Now to get things fully unpacked and organized... No sugar - This is a big one in terms of overall health. I'm going to slowly cut it out. > To start with, my goal will be only one intentional sugar/day Between the stress of house hunting and just not being intentional enough with this goal, and then the holidays and everyone giving us sugary treats, this didn't go so well. Planning to try again next year and D is planning to attack sweets with me! Budget - We have a rough budget right now, but since we don't have very many expenses, we haven't been keeping ontop of it as much as I'd like to. > My goal is to set a budget and keep track of income/expenses better. Budget is set and D is taking care of it, so I don't have to worry about it outside of making sure I stay within the set budget. Screentime - As with the sugar, my goal is to lessen my intake of screentime. > My plan with this is to have a place to set my phone during the day. Might get rid of social media, but we'll see what the year brings. Didn't do super well with this, but I did leave some social media off my phone and that has helped quite a bit. Side Quests: Skin Care - Find a routine and stick with it Bombed this one completely! Trying again with the new year. Workout - At least twice a week Did better at this than I thought it would and plan on continuing this goal into the new year Inktober52 - Participate as much as possible Dropped this pretty early into the year. We'll see what next year brings. Bread - I recently started keeping starters. My goal is to keep them alive and use them Summer was a bit busy and I had to let them go for a bit. Hoping to start up another sourdough starter soon. Language - Work on learning Spanish Gave up, started learning German, gave up cause it's more fun learning with someone else I think. NaNoWriMo - Participate Didn't happen this year since we were getting settled into our new house and traveling with D's grandma's failing health. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17. So….apparently I’m bad at updating. 🙈 things went well I think. Got the main floor box free, and now just working on cleaning out BabyG’s room so she can sleep in there instead of in our room. Working out didn’t go as well as I’d hoped, and I’m sure a week of sickness didn’t help…. Ah well. Will try again
  18. Didn't end up at the library this past weekend. Did have fun seeing my sister and brother in-law. They just got back from their honeymoon, so it was nice to see them. We all helped each other with packing up stuff at my parents to bring to our new homes. Glad that we're all not super far from each other. My workouts this week have consisted of moving boxes, and Monday? night....maybe Sunday night..... I pushed BabyG around in a small box on the floor with my feet. Good leg workout!!! Listened to more of the audiobook and about 42% of the way through that now. Unpacking is going well too! Mostly found the dining room, so that's been nice to have that space back and be able to use it.
  19. Week is going well, but fast. Dining room isn't as empty as I would have liked it to be by now, but it's getting there. My workouts this week have consisted of dragging and hauling boxes upstairs and downstairs. I've been enjoying my audiobook and look forward to listening to it more. Looking forward to the weekend. Might go to the library. Haven't been to our local library since moving and am excited to see what it looks like and get the feel for the vibe there.
  20. Yesterday was very much a "oh, right! The challenge starts today!" day. So not much done as far as goals, but was still a nice day. It's been pretty rainy recently, so it was nice to have some sunshine yesterday. There's some this morning as well, and it's very welcome. My goal for week 1 is to find my dining room. There are currently a decent amount of boxes in there and I'd like them to be in a spot that's easier to deal with than a main living space while they wait to be unpacked. I got some things moved to the spare bedroom, but some might take some help. On the book front, I'm thinking I'll listen to the audiobook I've been working through in a little bit. (Been listening to Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand)
  21. Thank you! That's a good idea Thank you! It's been a long time coming. Still hoping for a good find for y'all!
  22. I feel you on this one. I remember being told by those around me to eat more. Are you just not feeling hungry, or is morning sickness playing a role in that?
  23. It's been a while since I've hung out around these parts of the interwebs and figured I'd start up again this challenge. Been kinda running on autopilot for the last little bit, and things have been crazy. Long story short: Summer was good, but busy. Mostly kept ontop of my workouts, but not entirely. Been sick more than normal (I'm attributing that to my lovely toddler, stress, and just being busy in general/lack of rest). Finally found a house! Hoping that things will calm down a bit soon and I can focus more on getting into a good routine and keeping healthy. Goals for this challenge: Workout - 🤸‍♀️ > I'd like to focus on working out at least 3x's/week even if it's just something small like a few jumping jacks or something. Nothing super complicated right now. Read - 📘 > I'm in the middle of WAY too many books and would like to shorten that list by finishing some of the ones I'm currently reading. My goal is to read at least 5-10min, at least 2x's/week Unpack - 📦 > As mentioned above, we found a house! But now it is covered in boxes. I'd like to get in at least 30 min/weekday unpacking and organizing.
