  1. That's a great name for a starter! RIP Kevin. πŸ˜• I think if I named mine my sister would think I've lost it. πŸ˜‚ She already thinks it's weird that it needs fed. lol
  2. Week One: πŸ“΅ - 🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🍬 - 🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ✏️ - ⬜ ----- Today has been a good day. Had church in the morning and enjoyed time with my parents the rest of the day. Did surprisingly well with my sugar intake today. Hoping the rest of the week goes well.
  3. The past couple years have been filled with so many firsts for me, it's been crazy! I'm hoping this year slows down a bit, but also looking to still make improvements to my overall well-being. Big Goals: Finish Bible Reading - Last year I set a goal to read through the entirety of the Bible. Didn't finish, so I'm setting a goal to finish that goal > My plan is to read in the mornings when BabyG is sleeping. So.....This hasn't been going like I would have hoped. Mainly because of not making the time, and getting up with BabyG instead of before her. Will revisit this goal later. Read at least 5 books - My plan with this one is to read a little every day. I would love to exceed this goal, but we'll see what happens. Finished 2 books. Started a whole bunch though. πŸ˜… Find a house - Would love for 2023 to be the year that D and I can get our own place. > Not a huge gameplan here. Just continuing to look and see what pops up. We found a house!!!! And we've moved in! Now to get things fully unpacked and organized... No sugar - This is a big one in terms of overall health. I'm going to slowly cut it out. > To start with, my goal will be only one intentional sugar/day Between the stress of house hunting and just not being intentional enough with this goal, and then the holidays and everyone giving us sugary treats, this didn't go so well. Planning to try again next year and D is planning to attack sweets with me! Budget - We have a rough budget right now, but since we don't have very many expenses, we haven't been keeping ontop of it as much as I'd like to. > My goal is to set a budget and keep track of income/expenses better. Budget is set and D is taking care of it, so I don't have to worry about it outside of making sure I stay within the set budget. Screentime - As with the sugar, my goal is to lessen my intake of screentime. > My plan with this is to have a place to set my phone during the day. Might get rid of social media, but we'll see what the year brings. Didn't do super well with this, but I did leave some social media off my phone and that has helped quite a bit. Side Quests: Skin Care - Find a routine and stick with it Bombed this one completely! Trying again with the new year. Workout - At least twice a week Did better at this than I thought it would and plan on continuing this goal into the new year Inktober52 - Participate as much as possible Dropped this pretty early into the year. We'll see what next year brings. Bread - I recently started keeping starters. My goal is to keep them alive and use them Summer was a bit busy and I had to let them go for a bit. Hoping to start up another sourdough starter soon. Language - Work on learning Spanish Gave up, started learning German, gave up cause it's more fun learning with someone else I think. NaNoWriMo - Participate Didn't happen this year since we were getting settled into our new house and traveling with D's grandma's failing health. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is what I have so far.
  4. Happy New Year y'all! Don't plan to be up late enough to actually ring in the new year, but hope y'all have a great year!
  5. It was quite a lot! I was so tired Tuesday night! That sounds like a good book. Might have to find it. Welcome! Thanks! I'm mostly keeping it for my mom, but I think I'll probably continue to keep one whenever D and I find a house.
  6. Totally forgot to take pictures, and I know I'm late in mentioning this, but between Monday and Tuesday I made 11 loafs of bread. 3 were sourdough, 4 were cinnamon friendship bread, and 4 were blueberry with a lemon glaze. About half of them went to grandparents for Christmas. I've been considering making bread to sell at a local farmers market. We'll see what happens. First, I have to hear back from the person I contacted to get information about being a vendor.
  7. Happy New Year!!! (I know, posting it now is early, but figured I'd get this up so I don't forget. πŸ˜…) I'm excited for this year and what is to come! I've got my 2023 goals up in my battle log and ready for tackling some goals. I hope y'all have had a great holiday season. We had a nice time with family for Christmas, though Christmas day BabyG and I were sick. πŸ˜• Thankfully, we are both starting to feel better. Tuesday we were at my grandparents' and they pulled out a video they had found from when I was not quite 2 years old. That was so much fun to see! Crazy how fast time flies! Goals: πŸ“΅ - I'd like to really limit my screen time and focus more on spending time with different hobbies and things. Especially since we're hoping to have a house this year (2023) and I'll have more responsibilities around the house than just taking care of our little space. 🍬 - I would also like to limit my sugar intake. It's been really bad, especially with the holidays. Eventually I'd like to work on junk foods in general, but figured I'd start slow. ✏️ - This one is more of a "sidequest" type goal, but I'd like to check the Inktober52 prompts whenever they're posted and see if that's something I plan on participating in this year. I had planned on it this past year, but ended up not doing it. If I decide to participate, I'd like to work out a plan for what that will look like. -------------------------------------------------- Looking forward to the challenge and working towards a healthier lifestyle!
  8. A small, wearied ranger slowly approaches the bar. "A strong, tall cup of peppermint tea, please." She says, barely loud enough to hear. She looks gratefully at the barkeep, smiles, and finds a small, cozy corner to watch the tavern from.
  9. 2023 Goals: Finish reading through the Bible 1 Samuel 2 Samuel 1 Kings 2 Kings 1 Chronicles 2 Chronicles Ezra Nehemiah Esther Job Psalms Proverbs Ecclesiastes Song of Songs Isaiah Jeremiah Lamentations Ezekiel Read at least 5 books Finished 2 Hopefully find a house to buy Found a house and moved in!!! Avoid sugar as much as possible Didn't do so well with this Revise the current budget Done Reduce screen time Side Quests: Workout Intentional workouts at least twice a week - T, F Inktober52 Figure out if participating Participating If yes, work on a plan for drawing Sketching out things and posting them here when I'm done.
  10. I didn't hit my number goal for books this year but my biggest reading goal this year was to finish The Silmarillion, and that happened, so I'm not upset about the number. 2022 *The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien *The Candlestone by Bryan Davis (Dragons in our Midst Series #2) *The Shoebox Secret by Lauren Luwoye Unfinished: Just As I Am by Billy Graham [Left 2022 at 4%]
  11. It is recommended to warm up before working out. It helps to warm up your muscles, improves flexibility, and can help to avoid injury when working out. It doesn't have to be anything big, just something that gets your body ready for your workout.
  12. The bread making sounds exciting! I haven't tried making GF bread, but my mom has recently started making bread again, so I see some bread making in the near future over here! I started a couple bread starters yesterday (An Amish Friendship bread and a Sourdough). Hoping they turn out okay.
  13. As much tea as one can handle, please! Hibernation sounds like a great idea right about now...
  14. Thank you! It was a nice time, but D and I were definitely ready to be home by the end of our time there.
  15. That's beautiful!!! Looks really nice on you. Absolutely! ❀️
  16. *hugs* I hope things get better for you soon. ❀️
  17. Welp..... It's the beginning of week five and I think that I'm just going to call it for this challenge. I haven't really been keeping ontop of things because of being sick and now D and I are visiting family for this week, so things will be a bit busy. Might still check in every now and then this week still. We'll see how things go this week though.
  18. Thankfully it wasn't terrible! Thank you! I do too. ❀️ Hope you're doing well!
  19. Haven't tracked at all this week. Planning to get back to that next week. Starting to feel better. BabyG got sick as well. She seems to be feeling better, but still a bit stuffy.
  20. Honestly, I don't remember how the rest of the week went. I didn't really track anything, but I know that I only had one workout. Got sick over the weekend. Really hoping that I didn't get anyone sick.... We went to church Sunday morning and I was feeling fine. Got home and started feeling crappy. πŸ˜• Spent the night with a fever, but broke by morning, so I'm thankful for that. We'll see how things go this week.
  21. I think this is the first time I've actually driven anywhere on Halloween, so I was definitely nervous about hitting someone! I at least made an account. I don't know if I'll actually get very far with anything writing related because of having a tiny human, but I'm going to at least try a little bit.
  22. just popping this here for now πŸ˜‚ it’ll go to its proper place soon, but it’s too early for that rn πŸ˜… (also not 100% sure I’m participating this year, so we’ll see if it stays. Lol.)
  23. Week Two: S M T W TH F Sa ⬜⬜⬜ πŸŸ₯πŸ“΅β¬œβ¬œβ¬œβ¬œβ¬œ ⬜⬜ ⬜ ----- This week has been good so far. Sunday we went to church. Afterwards, we had a time of food and fellowship. Our church does this when we have a 5th Sunday in the month, it's always such a sweet time. Monday was pretty good. We didn't do a whole lot, but picked up D's car from being fixed in the evening. It was crazy how many kids were walking the street and I was stressed when backing out of the driveway! lol. I just kept thinking, "Don't hit a kid, don't hit a kid, don't hit a kid!"
