  1. Are gyms still closed in your area?! I thought lockdowns only existed in Europe now! For sure, going to see how long I can ride the newbie gains wave!
  2. Thank you, I am very excited to see where I can take this 🙂!
  3. Hey guys, gals and co. Next week the gyms reopen in my home country England, UK. I intend on venturing from behind the comforts of my keyboard and getting a gym membership! I am looking to build muscle, whilst losing body fat. I have read it is possible to gain up to 25lbs of muscle in your first year of training! This last year,I began doing bodyweight exercises at home and doing hill sprints. I have put on some muscle from this and can now do 80 push ups and 12 pull ups. Currently, I weigh 80kg and am about 18% bodyfat. I aim to be 85kg at 10% bodyfat by the end of the year. Is this a realistic goal? I hope I am welcome to join your community and look forward to virtually meeting a lot of you soon! love and chi, Steneth
  4. My bachelor's degree was in Sports and Exercise Nutrition and I also know quite a few dietitians. Honestly, I would be very hesitant to take any nutritional advice from any of my classmates or dietitians I know. My best advice would be to educate yourself BEFORE seeking further advice. Interestingly the keto diet was largely developed to reduce the occurrence of seizures. It was introduced for Nazy Seals to prevent them from experiencing seizures and drowning during strenuous diving tasks! However, if the keto diet is increasing your prevalence of seizures then do not use it. Personally, I would take a look into the research that exists for seizures and begin to find solutions from there.
  5. In my experience, devices that use Bioelectrical Impedance (gym scales) to measure body composition are neither accurate nor consistent. Callipers can be a good tool for tracking changes in specific fat sites. I use them on some of my more "stubborn" regions to get an idea of whether I am getting leaner (or not).
