  1. Hello and thank you for your support. Family health issues have made the beginning of 2023 a bumpy ride so I am starting the challenge again. I have been walking daily for two weeks now with my husband. (We are walking home from Mordor 30 minutes a day, cos who wants to be stuck in Mordor!). I did my first ‘Beginner bodyweight workout’ today using Coach Staci’s awesome video and will be aiming to add tai chi practice in too. A month ago my doctor said I needed to decrease my cholesterol so I have been swapping out foods for a healthier option and it has resulted in a far more interesting diet! So my priorities are walking daily, strength training and tai chi training on alternate days, and healthy eating.
  2. One by one put into practice the things I learnt during the 2023 Anti-challange challange. My Big Why, my fitness batcave, stress and recovery techniques, nutrition, and community.
  3. Last week my concussion relapse healing took priority so I feel like I have lost momentum in my walking. I like the idea restarting the journey home from Mordor and getting moving again. At Tai Chi class yesterday I did the whole class without sitting down for the first time since the relapse. The day before I went out and bought some t-shirts for my summer walks. Maybe I am moving!
  4. I completed the 30 day walk to Mordor with my husband Tom, and have just kept right on walking! It has now been 60 days. Today I finished the 60 day challenge by fulfilling a dream and played my electric guitar in the 101 Lab Band rehearsal after 6 months of concussion relapse healing! It has been a motivational roller coaster ride and has taken hours and hours of music practice time to rebuild my playing skills. My daily walking has helped to stretch my comfort zone and make it possible. My next challenge is to walk home from Mordor in 30 days. I am thinking about leveling up by trying new walking paths, walking a little faster, walking a bit longer, and walking on the same days I attend tai chi classes. Daily music practice is a part of my life and I am looking forward to creating new solos and honing in the band tunes.
  5. I have now walked for 25 consecutive days of the 30 day Walking challenge to Mordor. Since concussion relapse in April I have been unable to practice at rehearsals with the band I have been in for 20 years. The walking challenge today took me from the car and down the road to visit the 101 Lab Band as it was rehearsing. It has taken nearly 6 months to do this very special walk. I now feel closer to my dream of playing jazz and blues on my electric guitar in the band again. Visiting the band rehearsal was on my to do list in my journal, so I did it! Journaling has super powers!
  6. Thank you Tanktimus the Encourager! I am now on day 15 of the Walk to Mordor challenge. I have walked each day with my husband Tom. I have added the nutrition challenge on day 11 of drinking a bottle of water a day. The Facebook group will be going till 6 October so I am sharing the details there. Walking daily has opened up a new world of possibilities as I heal from concussion relapse and burnout. It is awesome to be walking again and know I can rely on myself to do something and succeed by walking daily.
  7. Hello, I sure have set up a challenge here to track my progress. Thanks for the support, it really makes a difference!
  8. I have finished the 5 day challenge to walk to Mordor and have kept going. I am on day 7. Over the last week my health wealth has grown and I am excited about exploring the world around me as I walk daily. I joined Nerd Fitness in 2018 after reading ‘ Level up your life’ and have just found this website. I am thrilled to be here and am looking forward to sharing adventures.
  9. Continue my Walking challenge to Mordor. I have now done 7 days in a row. I will walk daily for 30 days.
