  1. I really enjoy C-4 by Cellucor. Give me the right amount of boost, doesn't keep me awake at night (I work out in the afternoon), and I don't crash afterwards. Its done wonders for me.
  2. I long ago gave up on my warhammer 40k army, this may be the bit of inspiration I need to pick it back up.
  3. Awesome goals! Good luck with your push-ups! Greasing the groove definitely helped me with my pull-ups.
  4. I just read your entire post in Mr. T's voice. Touche' Heathbar, touche' Good luck!
  5. That song is going to be in my head all day...... Good luck with your goals!
  6. Burpees are the devil I say! I may have to attempt this 100 burpee challenge myself, if only to see how humbling it really is.
  7. Great goals and I really like your theme. Hope you kick assurance this challenge!
  8. oooOOoO Good Omens. I loved that book, I would definitely nominate that if I hadn't already read it. ....you know what? Screw it, it'd be an excuse to re-read it.
  9. I'm definitely planning to do the one in London on 6 April 2013. Wondering if any other UK Nerds were interested? Could definitely turn into a fun Nerdfit Meet up. I know its a while away, but think of all the time to train! https://www.goruckchallenge.com/Events/Details?id=180''>https://www.goruckchallenge.com/Events/Details?id=180' rel="external nofollow"> https://www.goruckchallenge.com/Events/Details?id=180
  10. Great deadlift goal. I too am looking to hit 405. I noticed from the virtual meet we're the same weight and our lifts are similar. Perhaps there is a PvP challenge brewing?
  11. I really enjoyed 5/3/1 when I was on it. Wendler is a genius when it comes to lifting. Looking forward to going back to it once my linear progression starts petering out. Have you read his E-book?
  12. I nominate: American Gods by Neil Gaiman A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
  13. I won't be doing much actual high-rep work. I lifted around 38k with my deadlifts last challenge, and I'll be looking to add almost 90k to this with my other two lifts. I'm still going to stick to my stronglifts 5x5 on three days of lifting and I feel my first stall coming. I'm up to 240lbs on my squat 5x5 so I'm definitely due a 10% drop shortly and my Bench is deloaded due to elbow problems.
  14. Kudos on the Marathon goal! and I can feel you for the 4am wake up.
  15. Great goals! I can definitely relate to the mental clarity goal. Good luck on the challenge!
  16. Great goals! I to have the stay silent bug, this is something I should probably start working on as well. Good luck!
  17. I'm excited for this challenge, it starts on my birthday! I had a lot of fun participating in my first challenge. I learned a lot of the ins and outs, and used the time to have a feel around about setting goals. Now that I've gone from new guy, to not-so-new-guy, I'm looking to have a lot more fun this time around. With out further adieu, here are the goals: LIFT A GALACTIC OBJECT: So, the largest meteorite to ever hit earth is the Hoba meteorite located in Namibia. It weighs in at a whopping 60 tonnes, or 132,277lbs. I plan on my big three lifts total weight lifted to pass this number. If my math is correct, I should hit around this at the end. Then I can say I've lifted a GALACTIC OBJECT (and that just sounds cool). (+4 Str) CLIMB TO SPACE ONCE A WEEK: The border between the Earth's atmosphere and space, known as the Karman line, is 100km high. Which is a perfect number for my next goal. I will perform 100 pull-ups a week. These pull-ups must be palms facing away, and must also be dead hang pull-ups. These types of pull-ups are a real weakness for me, and my back needs work. Plus, I want to progress towards doing a bar muscle up. I will be doing other versions, but only the one specified will count towards the goal. (+2 STR, +1 STAM) STUDY AN ALIEN CULTURE: I'm starting to drink the kool-aide. I have my PT test coming up soon, and I need to work on my conditioning for the 1.5 mile run. I hate running, but I do want to start doing crossfit to help with my run time. I will do two crossfit WODs weekly. I'm lucky enough to have a friend that is a level one certified crossfit trainer as well as level one gymnastics trainer and he run's a crossfit box out of his garage for squadron members. Unfortunately, He and I work different shifts. Though, He will be helping me with my programming for those two days. I'm also lucky that we have a crossfit box in our work building so I'll be doing those there.(I would do the WOD's with the base crossfitters but I don't get along with a few of them. Thankfully the box is in my building, so I can use it before they show up.) In the spirit of Constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity, I will award myself: ( +1 Str, +1 Dex, +1 Con,+ 1 Stam +1 Wis) Now, on to the life goal! STUDY TO MAKE MONEY: I'm eligible to test for Technical Sergeant next year. Its one of, if not the hardest, ranks to make in the U.S. Air Force and I want to make it on my first go around. I won't test till early next year, but I want a good head start on it. I will study for the test for at least 2 hours weekly over the next 6 weeks and hopefully learn a thing or two. (+3 Wis) So that's it! Lets get started already!
  18. Nothing revelant to say right now. Just subscribing and compimenting you on your awesome thread reference. You goals look great, good luck!
  19. This is always a hard question. There are so many great and amazing authors. My top right now would have to be Neil Gaiman. I have yet to read an unamazing book by him. My favourites ha e to be Neverwhere, Good Omens, and American Gods. I definitely love some Vonnegut. Slaughterhouse five is fantastic. And I have to 2nd the house of leaves. Don't read it alone if you want to keep your sanity
  20. Awesome work. I'm definitely jealous of your workout room. I can't wait for a mate of mine to get stationed somewhere new so I can buy half his home gym/crossfit box.
  21. You kicked ass! Definitely enjoyed reading through your challenge thread. The important thing is, you lifted big just as a true warrior should.
