  1. Diary Tuesday, Week 1 Diet: Breakfast: Protein Shake, Nutristart. Snack: Nothing (Not hungry) Lunch: 1 portion of red meat with a small portion of brown rice, a lil' bit of mustard. Snack: Nothing (Not really hungry) Dinner: Two pieces of chicken, some mustard, and a protein recovery shake, Late Night Snack: I'm thinking of eating an apple, later on. I took my dog out two times for a long walk. (CHECK) Does an apple count as a serving of fruit? Worked out for 45 minutes in the gym, using mostly body weights and cardio. -------------------------------------------------------- NO CIGARETTES NO WEED NO SODA. (CHECK) I didn't even feel the urge to pick one up from a friend who offered me some. (Cigs)... I'm ready to face whatever comes at me...feeling great, man!
  2. I actually drink diet coke because of the carbonation and taste. I get my caffeine with regular unsweetened tea! Thanks for the heads up, good luck with both of us!
  3. Really? I usually use water, but it's not as filling as soy milk.
  4. Hello everyone, last year I made a 6 week challenge but failed miserably. This time, though, I'm gonna kill it! My starting weight is around 240 pounds. I wear L and XL shirts (Occasionaly), 1) Work out at least 4-5 times a week in the gym using the Rebel Fitness Guide. (+3 STA, +3 STR) 2) Eat 1 serving of fruit or vegetables every three days/ drink my protein shake every single day. (I usually drink it one day, and then forget about it for two to four days, then drink it again. I'm not consistent enough.) (+3 CON) 3) Take my dog for a long walk 2-3 times a day. (This bad boy has been with me since I was 8. This past year or so, I have been so focused on my studies or in any other thing but him. He deserves to feel a lot more love from his owner. I have failed him!) (+2 WIS and CON) This one I think will be the hardest one for me. Big motivation needed... 4) Cut out cigarrettes, marijuana and soda: Even though I have read a lot on this site about how bad diet coke is for you, I still trick myself into buying some almost everytime I go to a restaurant, pretending it won't do me any harm. About cigarettes and weed...well, they have been a part of me for about two years now. Somehow, for the past two months, I have noticed that I am not smoking as much as I used to before, I have decreased my daily and weekly intake... So, I am going to take this opportunity to drop these two, in this 6 week challenge. It's going to be tough, yes...but I am going to try my best. (WIS+4) Thanks for reading and good luck in your challenges!
  5. Since last sunday, I've been really sick. I have no appetite and have pain all over my body. This is very, very frustrating! I was in such a great streak in my gym workouts, my diet plan...I still don't feel that good at all. What do you do when you are in a strict fitness plan like myself and you get this terrible flu or whatever the hell it is? It rips away my motivation, man!
  6. I will take that tip in consideration, Sammie! Thank you! Ferocia, I feel exactly the same way. It hurts me that I can't be with him the same amount of time I used to because of work. He is not as cheerful as he used to be, you know? I'm trying my best now to re-create that bond we used to have.
  7. Half Orc Adventurer, STR: 3 - DEX: 2 - STA: 1 - CON: 2 - WIS: 4 - CHA: 3 One quick question, buddies... Has it ever happened to you that you feel your clothes a bit looser, you are using a space in your belt you couldn't use before, but when you see yourself in the mirror you look exactly the same? EDIT: By the way, guys, thank you for those sweet replies!
  8. Great. I'm definitely going to take the smoothies advice, and most probably apply a bunch of those egg recipes. I've got a few more questions, though... What about whole wheat bread? Is that against Paleo? and... Many recipes up here ^^ talk about bacon. Pardon my ignorance, but isn't bacon fattening and unhealthy? Also, that Gratin looks delicious.
  9. Hello, nerds! I've been into Paleo for about two weeks now and I still can't find the perfect breakfast. Fast, healthy and natural. I don't have much time in the morning to cook a big and elaborated breakfast. What is your "breakfast of champions"? What's your suggestion? My main goal is weight loss.
  10. Since as long as I can remember, I've always been a few pounds ahead of my desired weight even though I've always worked out ( Football, soccer leagues, etc...). It wasn't until my father's passing ( I was twelve.) , that I think many things in my life got out of hand. My grades lowered and I became obsessed with the idea that food could, in some way, make me feel better. It was some kind of anxiety. Three years later, my only brother passed away too. Disaster. I am 17 years old, and I can honestly say that a few weeks back, I was in the worst physical condition of my life. I was weighing 240 pounds. I started working out solo, just doing the basic stuff ( Walking, jogging...), not knowing of Nerd Fitness. A very good friend of my brother told me about NF, which now serves as my daily motivation. I've been doing Paleo, and Rookie Workouts. Right now, the scale marks 231 pounds. My three challenges are: Manage to survive 5 full boxing rounds. ( I currently handle 3 full rounds.) STR + 1 , STA + 3, DEX + 1 Eat at least 1 vegetable, and 2 fruits per day. ( Not used to at all. ) (Stay true to Paleo) WIS + 3 , CON + 1 Thirty minutes nonstop of interval jogging. ( I can maybe manage 15 minutes.) STA + 2 ,DEX + 2, Life Goal: Take my dog for a long, long walk two times a day. ( My dog, Astor, has been with me for the last 9 years. This past year, I haven't been able to give him the attention he deserves because I have been rather busy. Instead of using my "free time" to surf the web, watch tv or take a nap, I'm going to walk him twice as long, two times a day.) WIS +3 , CON +1, CHA + 3 I have lived in Panama City, Panama all my life, hence a few mistakes in my english grammar. It's also getting kind of late here, so I'll make sure to post all the stats tomorrow! Thanks in advance... -Toby
