  1. /me wanders through NightWatcher13's challenge HELLO!! How goes the food planning?
  2. How is it going JK??? I'm late to the challenge, but I need to join your effort.
  3. Reboot / revamp time

  4. Sorry to be super simple and not-at-all-creative-or-clever, but I want to do a challenge and only have minutes to post about it (buying a house, doing a masters-level of studies, raising a family, working a ton)... much love and thanks to you nerds - will update the long-term "quest" in my next challenge or somewhere in the middle of this one. So... I'm in upheaval, living in boxes and getting ready to move. For now, it's about food, sleep, and studying Goal - lose fat 1) Fight the war on carbs - doing version of CarbNight Solution - <40 grams carbs (tracked on LifeSum app) 2) Track track track - I'm the opposite of so many of you - the more I track, the better I do - so, tracking food/activity in LifeSum, occasional walking/running in Runkeeper, and sleep in Pillow app, and caffeine in the UP Coffee app - these are all great because the coordinate with the iOS health app 3) Supplemental stuff: morning workouts (restart after my move), WATER and SLEEP Life goal - study 4-5 hrs per day - gotta get these career certifications! That was sloppy, but off I go (time for sleep)
  5. Researching body-weight programs

  6. So - just to round out the challenge (and my thinking until March 19)... * Establish my morning routine - prayer, scripture, meditation * Plan meals on weekends, updated nightly - help my family eat real food (and me lose pounds) * Workouts in AM - planed by the good people at MoveSkill.com in the AM until I graduate from their advanced group - and maybe use NerdFitness thingy - there's a class or something? * Study study study - all while over-delivering at work * Love on my family 5 - 8 nightly - protect that family time - all other time is working toward providing for them Word
  7. Dropping this challenge - gotta focus on my exam 100% - peace to all the nerds
  8. Wow - that was really negative, but it's time to deal with these things constructively so I can get back to the work that is important
  9. Time to deal with my "derail-ers" - the stuff that keeps me from doing the important stuff... How I want to spend my life: making progress, building cool stuff, reading, moving, LIVING How I actually spend my life: dealing with email, interruptions at work from "socializers" (at the WORST times), constant demands to compromise integrity for the sake of appearances, etc... oh yeah, and sleep
  10. Love outrunning the reaper - love the health emphasis - Bible stuff - protecting time with the spouse (TOUGH to do) - and all the new goals. I look forward to watching your progress. You mentioned watching spartan race Washougal - I googled and can't find a video. Is that on Youtube? I will keep looking. Let's kill this challenge. UPDATE: searched on Youtube - think I found a bunch of stuff on Spartan footage
  11. If these guys can bike-commute in -8 degrees, then I can wait at a bus stop... http://urbanmilwaukee.com/2015/01/09/bike-czar-commuting-at-8-degrees/
  12. DELAYED update... for the week 1) I'm brainstorming a spreadsheet to help me plan meals for myself and my family - help me get healthy and save our budget!! Lot's of work needed here, but it will really help if I can get a planning system in place along with a weekly trip to the store. 2) Mobility - boy do I feel like a dork doing this at the gym, but my body is very happy when I do it. Press through... this is how we break out of the carbonite. 3) Morning workout - um - I allowed -8 degree temps to keep me from getting my early bus... and then a dude at work told me how he caught his bus with just a few extra layers - shamed me. If he can do it, I can! New week ahead. Life Goal... 4) CAIA - getting pumped about this - it's ramping way up and will be good to get nailed. I might sacrifice a little health, reducing sleep in order to catch up, but it's necessary - just for a week (yes, nerds, I know it's a bad idea... but temporary).
  13. Thanks a ton for stopping by! I will try to find your challenge as well. Hey man - great seeing you online... glad my simplistic thread isn't too boring. It's what I have time for, and keeps things focussed.
  14. Thanks DJ! The nerds in the IRC helped me come up with it.
  15. Today was... progress (not perfection) 1) I had a slight plan, but food was clean (and not excessive) 2) Mobility - none today 3) Morning workout - not today Life Goal... 4) I'm going to study for the CAIA right now
  16. DRAFT FOCUS: Mobility (Starrett's Ready to Run book) Fat Loss Good food STUDYING Currently, I'm nowhere near this, but I just dropped my last bear (until 2015). DRAFT... will fill this in more soon
