  1. I've stuffed jalapeno's with sausage and wrapped them in bacon (surprise surprise), those turned out really well.

Did the OHP ladder give you any trouble?

Oh, and I logged in to the NF minecraft server last night, I hung out in your house for a bit ha, that's an awesome job you did!  You guys are all out of my league!

Not terribly, difficult near the end I took some 2 minute breaks.  Thanks! To be honest that is the first game I really ever played in. I dabbled in Minecraft for maybe a total of 10-12 hours before joining the NF one.

Today's lifts, figured I'd do conditioning tomorrow instead

    Deadlift

    • 3 x 135
    • 2 x 225
    • 2 x 265
    • 3 x 315
    • 3 x 315
    • 3 x 315
    • 3 x 315
    • 3 x 315

Next weekend is our cruise. so I'm going to rest easy until probably Tuesday next week to test out my 1RM for the lifting comp.  I'm setting a near  end of challenge goal that is more for the next challenge. For the competition I want to get to BW 170 (~8 lbs down), Squat 265, Bench 245 and DL 385, but we'll see next week how much I have to make up to get there.

  2. I just like plain old black coffee. It started when I was pretty young (10-12 maybe?), my uncle is a pretty big muscly guy and being a kid who thought adults never lie or fibbed told me it would make me a big man. Probably in jest of course but I took it to heart and have been drinking it like that ever since. I've tried it with sugar and/or cream but it is way to sweet for me. I just like the taste.

  3. Those jalapenos look AMAZING.  Brilliant idea wrapping them in sausage.  Love it.

I have menu envy. I can't wait until I can (hopefully) eat nightshades again.

It kinda was a spur of the moment thing, I was going to wrap them in bacon, but I kinda wanted to try something else.

I am also a fan of wrapping sausage around pepper-poppers; that sounds like an awesome plan.

I'm going to try chicken sausage one of these times, probably not as awesome but will be healthier I suppose.

    Today's lifts

    OHP Ladder

    • 1 x 95
    • 2 x 95
    • 3 x 95
    • 4 x 95

    • 7 x 95
    • 8 x 95
    • 9 x 95
    • 10 x 95
    • 9 x 95
    • 8 x 95
    • 7 x 95
    • 6 x 95
    • 5 x 95
    • 4 x 95
    • 3 x 95
    • 2 x 95
    • 1 x 95

I doubt I'll do deadlifts with these ladders, I think I'll just do a light DL workout on Friday with some conditioning stuff tomorrow.

  4. I wish a sleep mask would work for me, which means I'd be sleeping while it was daylight. I haven't slept past the break of dawn since I got my dog. He digs his stinking nails into my back as soon as daylight hits, telling me, "Daddy, it is time to pee me even though I could probably hold it for 4 more hours, what I really want is a treat". grumble...

  5. /rant on

I have a long and unhappy history with dr's.  Probably started when the old GP lanced my infected eardrum without warning or any anesthetic.  You know those things they look in your ears with??  They (used to) make an attachment like a bayonet.  Not nice for a 5 year old.  Since then I've 'caught' dr's in repeated lies or bad advice.  Just don't trust them much.  They are human after all.  Just being around a dr or a nurse can spike my blood pressure 30-40 points.

    /rant off

I also have an aversion to Dr's. I don't have any horror stories per say but I just have a general dislike of them and their offices so I can understand why blood pressure would go up. I know anytime I'm there I'm uncomfortable, agitated / testy which probably doesn't help things like my resting heart rate, blood pressure or things of that nature.

  6. Squats

    • 5 x 155
    • 6 x 155
    • 7 x 155
    • 8 x 155
    • 9 x 155
    • 10 x 155
    • 9 x 155
    • 8 x 155
    • 7 x 155
    • 6 x 155
    • 5 x 155
    • 4 x 155
    • 3 x 155
    • 2 x 155
    • 1 x 155

They weren't that difficult going up, but going down was rather iffy at spots. Dinner got re-arranged to Turkey burgers for me (cooking now) the wife had some work dinner thing to go to and I had to go to a meeting for our Masonic charity dice run that is scheduled for Sunday.

  7. Sorry my fuzzy wired brain saw crossfit when I saw the following:

Although bodybuilders and other athletes looking for “puffy†bulk over performance might find some use in creatine supplementation, most Primal Blueprinters who value performance over illusory size are probably getting plenty of creatine through dietary means (meat, fish, fowl, etc). The increased muscle fluid absorption can even result in muscle cramps and in dehydration for the rest of the body, so I would actually advise against too much creatine for dedicated athletes.

Not defending creatine (it isn't for everyone) or saying that "primal blueprinters" don't have more creatine than someone who eats a diet from the food pyramid but to get 5 g of creatine a day you would need to eat around 2.5 lbs of (rare / raw) steak, every day. (That does sound tempting...)

Do you have any scientific articles that show creatine supplementation is linked to dehydration in athletes? I've never read more than anecdotal evidence to the claim.  This article seems to say there is no link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1421496/

  8. (frantically wiping drool off keyboard)  These. Look.  Amazing.   I will happily cover the cost of freezing and airmailing any leftovers to my door.   :peaceful:

Hah, they were a huge hit, I was requested to make them for more parties, I bet they could be made healthier too with some chicken sausage.

    How're your arms feeling today?

Not that bad actually, I probably could have done a little more weight but it was my first ladder ever. I was worried of crushing my throat. My legs probably won't respond as well tonight, I have weird genetics.

Holy sweet lordy!  That's a load and half of benchin'!  Well done sir.

    Thanks!

  9. Glad the pictures went well, I think we ended up with something around 300 different ones before the Mrs. decided on one. The cake tasting actually was only like 3 different small pieces because she already had her mind made up before then. The food tasting was nice. Limo took like 20 minutes (once again she knew what she wanted). Invitations on the other hand... I still have nightmares about that...

    Nice lifts btw!

  10. So you put your feet on this, or what?  Does that just help relax your feet, or do you work on stretching in some other way?  Curious....

Yeah, I put it on the floor and roll my foot over it usually a couple times a day, it does wonders.

Also for my back, I present the double lacross ball
