  1. Yesterday went very well. I got up and ran in the morning, ate very healthy, and drank mostly water. Tomorrow will be the one month mark on drinking no soda and I'm pretty happy about this. My mother stole my scale for the time being because my mother's scale isn't working. So I'm going to weigh myself every tuesday. Today I'm going in for an ultra sound on my thyroid gland so hopefully they deside I don't need it removed. Hope ya'll are having a great challenge day!

So I've never done this before, but here I go Background Information: So in the spring of 2010 I used to be 190 pounds at 5'2 and I lost 75 pounds of that weight over a period of a year and a half. I've had some stuff going on in my life that's been really stressing me out and I've gained like 13 to 15 pounds of that back. I might be having my thyroid gland removed this month so I'm probably going to have to keep my goals to weight related things. Health/Fitness Goals: 1. Lose 6 pounds. 2. Lose 13 pounds 3. Run five days straight. Life Goal: Learn the basics of Latin American Spanish and go out of my comfort zone and try and speak a little of it. (note: It only counts if I've tried five times and used a minimum of six words.) So I know these goals sound like generally easy goals, but since it's my first challenge I'd like to start slow. Also, I've never really tried learning spanish before. So, what do ya'll guys think?

  4. Thanks! Yes. I've been thinking about it. I haven't been able to get online for a while, but I'll try and make updates. I've been doing real well with my running, but I'm going to have to be creative with my goals because my running partner is my middle aged dad. lol Not saying that's a bad thing, it's just he takes a while to get going. You know?
  5. Hey guys, this is Dara here letting ya'll guys know I'm wanting to join in on the fun. I'm not much of a swimmer, but I do like to go cycling and running/jogging. Due to the new job I have, I cannot go cycling in the evening as I used to exsept for my days off. I'm hoping to run most days exsept on sunday. We'll see how that goes. I'll update my stats on my profile and record my first jog tomorrow morning. I hope to participate here and if there is anything I need or supposed to do please tell me!
  6. Thanks. I think I'll try out the scout forum. I'm wanting to lose about ten or fifteen pounds, but I don't want that to be mainly my goal. I'd like to run faster and maybe try out the paleo diet for a spell. Hope to see you around also!
  7. Hi ya'll! I thought I'd finally join in. I've been browsing this website for about a month now and I've just recently turned eighteen so I thought I'd give this community a try. My name is Dara and I've been on a journey toward weightloss and health for a little over two years now. I'm 5'2, 120 somethin' pounds and I've lost 70 pounds from where I started. This year has been a struggle for me lately. I haven't been as active as I would like and I began to eat junk food again. I've recently gotten a job that's taken up the time I usually spend exercising and It's become difficult for me to motivate myself to carve out time. I'm going to try to get myself up to start running in the mornings and I'm hoping ya'll will keep me accountable. I'd also like to try a few new things as I progress. So what so I do now? I'd love to get to know you guys and I'd also like to know what I'm supposed to do as a newbe. Thanks.
