  1. Good for you for getting back at it! And welcome to the boards. Powerlifters etc congregate mostly in the Warrior Guild (if you haven't got there yet).

  10. Well contrary to my legions of fans...I'm not going to lift the shuttle by myself... Carrying over from the last challenge 1) Compete in the Texas Powerfest on July 14 and (edit) have 9 clean lifts. (state record is off the tables pouty face).... - Work on 5x5 for the big three until then - Average 20,000# per workout (it took me a week to recover from my 2 weeks at 30k) - Continue to stress good form, particularly on the bench press. As I've worked on this, I've found that my right arm/elbow is weak and/or inflexible. 2) Workout 5 times a week 3) Include accessory exercises in each workout, specifically - pullups - planks (daily) - pushups (daily) Life goal(s) 1) Maintain a good attitude at work 2) Encourage and help my wife (ladywildross) with her rehab and workouts 3) Continue to paleoize/yeast free my life. Christi has been on the yeast free diet for almost a month now and is feeling MUCH better in many ways. I'd like to say I'll lift 1,000,000 pounds in the next 6 weeks, but with the power fest and the first part of a 2 week vacation, I don't think that is realistic. And I should add..I need to resist the temptation to abandon my plans just to chase side challenges (no matter how epic they are). Edit: Adding meet details Saturday, July 14, 2012 Legends Sports Complex 602 Pruitt Rd. Spring, Texas 77380 Lifting starts at 9AM. Details here http://www.usapltexas.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/USAPL-Summer-Power-Fest-2012-Entry-Form.pdf
  11. It will depend on her attitudes about such things but ideas.. Open doors Open car door Hold chair Whatever you do needs to be something you can do for the rest of your life/time with her. If you hear "you used to xyz but don't anymore" its probably not good Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Wow! Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Lithtening on the plains is very different from in the east. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  14. And its not all flat either. Southeast KS has the Flint Hills which are part of the Ozarks Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  15. First a bail is a bail and it will probably be loud. You're not hurt so that is the important part. Next time maybe alert the staff if you think you're getting close. I don't worry that much about the imbalances between the lifts. I think it is just an indication of what you've worked on in the past. For instance my squat bench and deadlift are all around 345..weird. For a while the bench was the highest. As my form improves, so do the other lifts Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  16. By helping them find the answers rather than just telling them stuff. That's not to say disobedience is condoned, or that there is no place for absolutes, just that you can do a lot of leading to water. Oh and don't use the kiddie carts at the store (that look like cars). They hide the kids from you. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Kids, they will take you places and into conversations you would never expect... Keep having fun with them!!
  18. Always good not to trip! Congratulations...
  19. Welcome to NerdFitness! We have a number of other Brits on the boards as well. Look around and find the group that you like and start posting...
  20. Welcome. Also look into the various forums/guilds to find like minded folks.
  21. Well you both helped push me. I so did not want Fink to pass me on the last day! I already have 1,000,000# total as a target for the next challenge, as well as that 100,000# workout. Should be fun Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
  22. Absolutely go with the lower one. You sure aren't going to be taller after doing 5 reps, plus you will be tired. Tired + stretch spells injury to me Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
