  1. Never like missing back to back weekdays, but sometimes it happens.  Had a day trip to Jacksonville that didn't work out like I'd planned.

Saturday 4/7.  After getting a testosterone suppressing shot...ugh.  (Look up Lupron if you want to know more)

    Row 3.5 minutes
    Bench 20*45,2*10*135
    Front raise 10*25,4*10*45
    Halos 20*25,4*20*45
    Squat 10*45,135,225,6*315,2*405,1*425,1,1,1,1
    Over head press 10*45,4*10*135
    Lytpw 5,10

    Sunday 4/8

    Row 3:35, 843 meter
    Front squat 10*45,135,185,6*225,1*5*275
    Lat pulldown 10*140,4*10*160
    Seated cable row 2*10*160,3*10*180
    Bands

    Monday 4/9

Deadlift 10*45,135,225,1*10*315,1*5*315 <- not sure I've ever done 10x315 before
Overhead press 10*45,4*10*135 <- these are starting to feel better after the shoulder flare up
    Ir/or 40*5,10,3*40*15

  2. LYTPW is a shoulder routine I found/adapted.  The 'W' stands for Windmill.  The others basically describe the position of your arms

IR/OR is inside/outside rotations with the cable machine.  Here is some other guy doing outside rotations.  Inside is the other way.

  3. The smashed finger happened as I was doing windmills with a 10# dumbbell to rehab my shoulders.  I smashed it on the t-bar of the decline situp bench.  (Note to self, make sure there isn't anything behind you before swinging your arms!).  Some work with a needle to poke a hole and some ice....now it's just bruised.  Amazing how hard it is to type though.

So Monday 4/2 was like this

Row 3 minutes 720 meters.  I'm doing the rowing as a warmup
    Squat 10*45,135
    Lytpw 5,10
    Arnold press 2*20*25

    Tuesday was a bit better.

    Squat 10*45,135,225,5*315,3*365,2*405,1*425,2*445 with chains.
    Row 10*45,135,145,5*5*185

I definitely like using the chains.  Balancing the bar is challenging.  I stopped at this particular gym because they have 2 squat racks, a deadlift area and 3 sets of chains (different sizes)

Oh awesome!!!! But.. is this a lifetime PR or just for this year? ;)

Well, for the President's Club, this is the second year in a row (which I think is pretty unusual).  And the 50 states will of course be a lifetime PR, unless Puerto Rico becomes a state or something similar.

I "plan" to get Montana (and a second trip to Idaho) when I go to USAPL Nationals in October (Spokane, WA).  North Dakota is going to have to be a trip by itself.  I've been doing these as either business trips or on airline points for the last 5 years.  Southwest doesn't fly to Montana or North Dakota, so it will be a flight to Minneapolis and a drive to ND...

  5. Well, that was quite a trip!  Lots of driving but only had bad traffic a couple of times.  Some rain, no snow.  Lots of gyms.  Came back from the convention with a nasty head cold (kind of expected).

3/21 Wednesday, On the South side of Orlando, on the way back from Fort Lauderdale.

    Squat 10*45,135,225,315,5*365,2*415,1*2*435,435
    Row 10*45,6*10*135

3/24 Saturday, In Westerville, OH.  I drove the Penske truck to the gym.  Then drove for 3 hours and unloaded

    Front squat 10*45,135,5*205,245
    Overhead press 10*45,135,2*10*155

3/25 Sunday, In Hermitage, PA.  this is one of the 2 closest gyms to Youngstown were we are moving to.

    Overhead press 20*45,10*135,3*10*155
    Front squat 10*45,135,205,225,5*245

3/26 Monday, halfway between Austin and Dallas, TX

    Lat pulldown 10*160,3*10*180
    Seated cable row 10*160,180,2*10*200
    Bench press 20*45,135,185,15*225

3/27 Tuesday, Downtown Dallas, in the Bishop Arts District.  Surprisingly, some serious dudes here.

    Squat 10*45,135,225,5*315,5*365,2*405,2*1*425
    Bench 2*20*45,135,10*185,10*225

    3/28 Wednesday, ditto

    Overhead press 10*45,135,155,175,2*5*185
    Front squat 10*45,135,5*225,2*275,315*1

Dinner ran til almost midnight...ugggh.  Nothing on Thursday.

3/29 Friday, Jackson, Mississippi.  Something popped in my right shoulder so I quit.  Bit numb but now on Sunday it seems to be recovering ok.  This was probably related to me spraining my arm standing a computer rack up when I unloaded the truck on Saturday.

    Dead lift 10*45,135,225,5*315,2*405
    Inclined bench 10*45,135,185,2*225

4/1 Sunday (He is RISEN!  Back in Clermont)

    Kroc row 30*80,90,4*20*100
    Overhead extension 15*80,90,4*10*100
    Goblet squat 10*80,90,4*10*100
    Squat machine 10*45,135,225,315,405,495

Totals were mostly way low because I was rushing

    3/25 - 14225
    3/26 - 28675
    3/27 - 9110
    3/28 - 10740
    3/29 - 10535
    Weekly - yuck 73285
4/1 - 42400  Always high with the rows and such

About 3000 miles of driving, 1400 of flying in 10 days or so.   5 different gyms in 4 states.  This week it looks like I'm staying in Florida.

Oh, but great news!  I won a "President's Club" trip, which goes to the top producers in Red Hat.  Last year, Southern CA...this year Hawaii!!  That will leave me with 2 states left (Montana and North Dakota).

  6. Well, I’ve gotten a lot of exercise since Wednesday, but not at the gym.

Thursday I spent about 6 hours loading a 16’ truck with stuff, then drove about 200 miles towards Ohio. Friday I drove 800. Saturday I went to the gym for about 30 minutes, then unloaded the truck (only took about 2 hours). Sunday I got a bit of a workout in as well. I’ll add those once I land. Right now I’m in the air on the way to Austin to pick up Wufkar’s old car (which is newer than ours). Tomorrow I’ll drive from Austin to Dallas for a weeklong meeting.

    Fun stuff.

  7. Look into the In Death series by J.D. Robb. It's a futuristic murder mystery series that I get the audio version from the library and listen in the car on my way to work. There's about 40+ separate books so you certainly won't be bored anytime soon if you like it! Happy reading!
You live in Texas. You should read one Louis Lamour Western...I suggest Flint or A Man Called Noon.
