  6. Qualified and registered for the Raw Nationals again in October. Also have a meet coming up in SW Florida in late June.
  7. The only time I go to failure is at meets. I have not missed a bench or squat rep while training in years. What I do a LOT of is aim for x reps and end up at x-2. But that is a matter of learning your limits. And I almost always bench in a rack with safety bars and I always bench alone. If I don't have safeties, I go for high reps (15+). Pig headedness and ego are the way to injury. The iron does not lie.
  8. What do you mean by "pain"? If you are having pain, you are probably doing something wrong.
  9. So some workout lists. I'm using '*' instead of "x" in my math because it's easier on the Pixel 2 keyboard. I hadn't done a total in a while, so glad to see I'm keeping the volume up. Thursday 3/15 Total 15,600 Front squat 10*45,135,6*225,3*6*275 Overhead press 20*45,10*135,155,2*10*185 Jump rope 60,60,60,60,60 Friday 3/16 Total 37,990 Bench 20*45,135,185,4*15*225 Hack squat 10*45,135,225,315,405,2*6*495 Saturday 3/17 Total: 28,600 Squat 10*45,135,225,8*315,2*365,385c,415,435c ('c' means I had the chains on) Reverse lat pull 2*10*140,4*10*160 Seated cable row 10*160,180,200,220,2*6*240 The rows and pulls were very scattered. Had 4 or 5 people work through the cable machine. I just jumped in between my squat sets when I could.
  10. Just working on the chain gang. 415# with probably 10# of chains. these are aluminum and pretty light. They do make the lift more challenging since they swing..
  11. 3/16 workout Bench 20*45,135,185,4*15*225 Squat machine 10*45,135,225,315,405,2*6*495 Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

  14. Usually because of changes to my work schedule or medical things. This time my wife was throwing up. Seemed appropriate to stay home.
  15. I'll put the health summary at the top this weekend. Family is good. Wufkar is still in Austin and hangs out with Nightlight and Spezzy at least occassionally. 6 healthy grand kids all in Ohio. Lost all my customers in the NY/Philly area so don't get up that way as much lately.

  21. Missed you guys and gals. Still lifting, still trying to get stronger, still registering for meets and not going :-(. @Gainsdalf asked about my health. For those new to the Wildross saga, I am a 58 year old male who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January of 2015. I've been treated twice with HiFU which is a new treatment...and it's been partially successful. I'm currently on "Androgen Deprivation Therapy" aka, testosterone suppression aka chemical castration, leading up to another HiFU treatment probably in late June. What makes this interesting is that I had pretty low testosterone anyway, so it's unclear what effect the ADT will have on my strength. I have a plan of attack...my plan is to attack! I'm just going to keep lifting as much heavy stuff as often as I can for as long as I can. I also travel extensively for work (3-4 days a week) and that's about to get worse. 1) Some of my team's resources were moved to higher value areas...so I need to do more 2) We currently reside in Florida, near Orlando. Our daughter, son-in-law and 3 of the grandkids live in Youngstown, OH. A property abutting theirs came on the market and we have an accepted offer to buy that one and sell this one. In less than 3 weeks start to finish (see www.opendoor.com for how we sold a house in < a month) 3) Because of my job and several other factors, I need to maintain my Florida residency, so the Ohio house is our "second home", we're selling the one we have now and I'm getting an apartment. See the note about being gone 4 days a week above. In the last 5 years I've spent almost as much time in Marriott beds as I have in my own. Not much change there, just the endpoints change 4) That means in the next month, I'm packing up and moving a 2000 square foot house 1200 miles, supervising the remodeling of a (much smaller) house and getting my wife settled in a new community. 5) Just for grins, our daughter in Austin, TX is selling us her car. I'm going to be in Dallas the last week of March and will drive it back. In the next month, on top of my usual travel I have a drive/fly/drive/drive trip from Orlando to Youngstown to Austin to Dallas to Orlando trip, plus a drive to Ohio in late April. With that, my goals for this challenge are to 1) Lift at least 5 days a week 2) 20,000# per day according to the world famous WR calculation (if I lifted it, it counts) 3) Post here regularly 4) Maintain my sanity. Details to follow.
