  1. The almond bread I sometimes make is anything but dry. Also, I haven't tried this recipe, but its from a good source: http://freetheanimal.com/2012/07/fat-bread-third-times-the-charm-mission-accomplished.html
  2. Wife is supposedly due August 31st, but the baby is measuring a week ahead, so, who knows. And I'm really liking YAYOG so far. Definitely a good workout.

    Calcium

If you can make bone broth, that's also a great source. Also, realize that the sardines mentioned are with bones, as that's where all the calcium is.
  4. I was basing what I said on this. You said you were hungry from lack of food...so I said eat more?
  5. So, yesterday's workout went well. Uuuunfortunately, afterwards my knee started to hurt. Took it easy, but woke up today with it still not appreciating bending or weight solely on it. Not excruciating or anything, just a twinge of uncomfortable. Taking today as a rest day, and will take tomorrow too if I need to. That's another thing. YAYOG doesn't mention rest days. And in fact, the way it's written, really makes it seem like you do all 4 says back to back, then rest 3. I finally went and checked the book's forum, and there he lists a 2-on, 1-off approach. Kind of obnoxious, and I can't help but thinking my knee wouldn't be hurting right now if I had followed that. Oh well. Up to two days available as rest days without going off-plan. That should hopefully be enough. Only thing is that my next work out is legs, so squats are on the list. Guess I'll see how it goes!
  6. Huh... I think I'll leave that one alone.
  7. Eat more! If you're hungry, just go ahead and eat, its okay. Whole30 isn't about counting calories. Once your body adapts, the hunger will fade but until then, just go ahead and snack. Also, if you want fat--coconut oil. It is a fantastic cooking oil, smells great, and is just an overall super-healthy fat.
  8. Pole works best, but a sturdy door is how it's in the book. It's basically a cable exercise without the cable.
  9. Friendzones is really something that only teenagers and college students have to deal with, in my experience. And I think its largely because you end up being able to spend so much time with people around campus and such, that you end up in a situation where you're practically married before you even go on a date. There's no excitement in that. Most adults don't have that problem. A woman sees a man, thinks he's attractive, gets a hint of something interesting (a book he's carrying, his suit, anything really), and her mind starts to build off that. That's when she'd most likely say yes to a date. It doesn't take much, so long as there's a hook. And it doesn't have to be a stranger, even minor acquaintances, who you see a certain way most of the time, and then, suddenly, the woman discovers something new that totally changes how she sees the guy. The hook works the same way. And then once you've got the date, its okay to work towards that familiarity, because the switch has already been flipped. But younger people tend to get familiar and then want to flip the switch, which is a hell of a lot harder.

    Save Hyrule!

Great theme! And good luck! The menu diversification can be a big thing. There's a nice thread in the Hunter's Lodge section of the forum with some great websites with recipes. Aaand now I want someone to do a Link to the Past version of this.
  11. So, definitely a little sore today, but not nearly as bad as it could have been. But holy crap, if anybody out there is doing Bodyweight training, you totally need to do Let Me Ins. I have never felt these particular muscles in in my upper back/shoulders get worked like they feel today. Not sure I'm looking forward to tomorrow though, ha. Probably still going to be a little sore. But I'll try to be better about ignoring the 4-step ladder and not necessarily doing 4s towards the end. Tried a different stretch routine today, but think I'll go back to the first. This one was a little more yoga inspired, and definitely didn't feel as good as the one I got from a weight lifting source. Didn't get a chance to measure this morning before breakfast, since the wife had an early doctor's appointment. Have 2 updates though, at least, and it looks like my weight dropped pretty quickly after getting back to eating right, so tomorrow I'll have some "official" starting numbers. Weight: 310 (-3.8) Waist: 52.5 (-1) So, today was a "Mixed" workout day. Back Lunges: 25 (each side) One-Legged Romanian Deadlifts: 16 (each side) Squats: 66 Swimmers: 36 Back Lunges were a little awkward, as its really hard to know how far back you're stepping. One-legged Romanian Deadlifts were incredibly awkward. My body just does not bend like the pictures say it should, ha. But I definitely still felt it, so I'm good with that. The squats really surprised me. When trying to do Wall Squats, or Assisted Squats, my lower back and knees would start to hurt pretty quickly. With the 4-step ladder routine, nothing hurt at all. Not able to go ass-to-grass as part of the exercise yet, but its going that direction. I'm actually giving part of the credit to that to the MobilityWOD squat exercise that I've been trying to do for the past few days. Still not up to 10 minutes, but today when I did it at the end of my stretch routine, it felt a lot better than when I started. Still have to hold on to something to support my weight, but that I can deal with for now. Progress! And then there were the swimmers. Holy crap. I saw people switching them out, saying they didn't do anything for them. They were, by far, the hardest exercise of the day.
  12. A little dijon mustard can help with the emulsification. Also, if you're more Primal than Paleo, Cream Cheese makes for a nifty oil replacement in a homemade mayo as well. But yeah, avoid EV Olive Oil for mayo..ruined my first batch that way. Just waaay too strong a flavor.
  13. The newest Duel of the Planeswalkers is actually pretty enjoyable, and a big improvement over the previous entries, in my opinion. So if you have a 360, PS3, or a decent PC, you can give it a go that way. I would advise playing in any situation where you are competitive and have to buy cards, though. That is just not a fun way to play the game, in my opinion--turns into a game where whoever draws their combo first wins, end of story. Playing draft tourneys though? Tons of fun.
  14. I'll say though, that if you get too much further beyond where you are and she rejects your attempts at a kiss? You might want to think about the situation. The want of physical contact -> kissing -> more -> more being at least roughly equal on both sides is ridiculously important in the long term. Not to be a downer. Just saying. Libido differences can do nasty things to relationships. Some people will obviously disagree..but that just means there isn't a big enough difference in their own relationship.
  15. If you think she wants one, then go for it. You don't need to "Be sure". You just have to give her a chance to disengage. Just get closer in steps, increase physical contact, and pay attention. If she lets you get within a few inches, you're probably good. Or, you could just ask. If you've got a decent (or funny) delivery, asking for a kiss isn't going to make her suddenly say no when she would have said yes.
