  1. Well, I've fallen off the wagon with regards to this challenge. I just moved in at the University of Alabama for my freshman year, and the weeks surrounding it have been full of craziness and I've become distracted. I'm re-starting my challenge, and while I don't plan on "winning" so to speak, I'm doing this for myself because I have to hold myself accountable! So, with this, my challenge has gotten a kick in the rear and I'm ready to fully dedicate myself to this challenge! I have had some success though. With regards to fitness goal one, I am up to 175 for 3 reps! Certainly getting there, and up from my 155 previously. My writng goal has fallen as well, but I am on my way towards finishing a short story I am writing! That's all for now, there will be LOTS more to come!
  2. Hey y'all! I'm Francis, and this will be my first 6 Week Challenge - I'm beyond excited to get going! I've been off and on with fitness throughout the past few years, but haven't ever truly had the motivation to level-up my life and be the best version of myself that I can be. While browsing Nerd Fitness for the past few months, I've finally found that kick in the pants that I needed to get going and change myself for the better. I decided to call myself an Adventurer since I really don't know which guild would suit me best at this time and because one of my goals is to begin losing weight through general fitness. Without further ado, here are my goals for the next six weeks! Fitness - Be able to Bench Press 205 lbs. at least once at the end of the challenge (currently at about 155 for 5) - Exercise at least 5 days a week (3 days of strength training, various activities such as running, biking, etc. on the "off" days) - Slowly begin changing my diet for the better by keeping a food journal and recording every bit of food that enters my mouth so that I can phase out the bad stuff from my diet Lifestyle - Write for at least 20 minutes every single day, be it lyrics, prose or a piece of music (I love writing, but don't seem to make it a priority - other less important stuff such as surfing the internet or lounging around doing nothing seems to get in the way. No more!) Since this is my first challenge I want to keep it relatively simple so that I can focus on achieving these goals and give them the attention they deserve. Today begins my leveled-up life!

  4. Hey all! My name's Francis and I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio (soon to be Tuscaloosa, Alabama where I will be moving in about 2 weeks to start school). I've been reading Nerd Fitness for a while now and have loved everything I've read so far, but for the longest time I wasn't motivated enough to join the Rebellion. Alas, that time has finally come - I'm ready to commit myself to getting healthy and STAYING healthy. I've battled with my weight for years, and while I'm not very fat, I certainly do have some extra baggage on me that really must come off. I've been inspired by the entire Nerd Fitness community whenever I've read the posts, and I'm really excited to finally become a true member of the Rebellion! I realized I'm just in time for the next 6 Week Challenge, so I'm beginning to get my goals together - I'm still pretty confused about the whole "guild" concept on the boards even after reading the posts I have found about them (not the concept of guilds in general, of course- I'm a huge fantasy nerd!) Anyone have some guidance for an NF noob? Any help is much appreciated
