  1. Sounds like your dress is already taking shape-- that is really awesome. Way to stick to your goals this week. I am seriously impressed by your quitting success so far and I hope the grumpiness and sleep issues work their way out of your system soon! Best of everything to you and your mother this week.
  2. I hear you on the constant need to eat when you are breastfeeding! I felt like vaccuum cleaner when I was doing it. I'm very impressed that you are maintaining your healthy food choices, especially when so hungry all the time. You are rocking out mama! I hope this momentum you've got started keeps you going strong!
  3. Awesome being on time for work! I feel you on that one for sure, and it almost makes it harder for me to acheive timeliness because my supervisor is really cool about lateness as well. I almost made that a goal for myself but went with something easier (and more fun). I'm rooting for you on this one because I know it is a great feeling when you finally manage to show up on time, and that great feeling can leak into the rest of your day. Good luck with all your goals!
  4. Hope your first week of the challenge went well! I'm excited to see what adding more yoga does for you-- I usually attend 2-3 classes a week and always feel like I'm just maintaining instead of progressing. Have you noticed any differences in energy/weight/etc on the paleo diet? That is one i have not yet had the gumption to try.
  5. Whew! Weekend success. Out of town visiting family, but got my 30 minute walk in pushing the kid in the stroller for extra power up. Then a 45 minute bike ride with my nephew who is 16 and didn't take it easy on me at all -- good boy. Bummed not to fit yoga into the weekend but looking forward to my class tomorrow. Ack! Still no ab work. I've got to get cooking on that or I'm going to flop at that goal. Also a set back on my camping plans as I was hoping my parents would take the little guy for a weekend while my husband and I went camping but those retired folks are awfully busy people and we weren't able to find a weekend that worked.
  6. A raw diet must be a huge challenge. Don't forget the nuts and seeds for some good fat and cals. Do dried berries count as raw such as raisins and craisins? I love having a handful after a huge salad to help my stomach feel like it got enough sugars to be happy.
  7. I am impressed by your plan of attack for the handstands! Do you have someone helping you out with those workouts or some kind of reference book/website you can share? Stay strong against the sweets-- remember once you pop you just can't stop, so don't even go there!
  8. OK, officially timed my boat pose and I can do 30 seconds bent leg unsupported. Also took my measurements, which aren't bad, but I want to have for reference. I'm not looking to loose weight really though the spare tire can feel free to go at any time. For me his challenge is more about feeling more strong and capable physically, which often translates into feeling that way mentally and emotionally as well. That would be awesome!
  9. Being busy makes fitting in long yoga sessions very difficult in my experience too. I hope you find the time as the rewards are worth it. I think it would be awesome to hold a headstand for 5 minutes, that is a great goal.
  10. Way to check in and keep it accountable! I looks like you are discovering your specific challenges, yeah? Now go out and hike! you know you will love it! I am a bit jealous of your mountainous location so take a hike for me, k?
  11. I am so impressed by your ability to practice solo-- I still depend on videos and classes after over a decade of practice! And I am rooting for you on your sewing goals!! The last time I touched my machine was to make a Halloween costume for my kid and I am feeling so guilty for neglecting one of my favorite hobbies. I hope you bust out something awesome. I think you are so smart to keep things simple, just the goal of practicing regularly will take a lot of determination, but should have lots of reward as well!
  12. Thanks for the tip-- I'll check out the 8 second abs tonight. It's always easier for me to follow a video than just sit down and do something by myself! I promise no underwear gathering! As to measuring my progress, I did a spreadsheet today over my lunch where I can mark down my gym days and successful avoiding of sweets days and days I work on abs. Marking down abs days is more to keep me motivated. My benchmark for progress is to take my boat pose time and form from pathetic to awesome so I'm doing a before after thing on that. Is anyone else a little intimidated by the forums? I'm trying to be encouraging to others at least in little bits but there are a ton of people participating!
  13. Good luck with everything! I know you want to loose weight and I've discovered recently that when I focus on getting stronger the weight thing takes care of itself (along with a little portion control). So do that pilates and do it strong! I hope your diet changes up your energy levels too! I wish I had the willpower to make such drastic changes, looking forward to seeing what it does for you.

Good luck with your first challenge! I'm curious how you are going to track your first goal. Did you have any ideas in mind yet?
